Haven’t parked up here as I literally live in the adjacent street! I’m also a camper. It’s a well known local sports field/track/cricket pitch so car park can fill up to capacity during day. Evenings poss a few teens hanging, but it’s a good area. Regularly used by dog walkers. Park wardens there in day. No problems other than if parked up too long, houses overlooking car park likely to complain.
Quite residential area with CCTV. We slept there for two nights with no issues. It is very close to the seaside. Free parking 24 hours for any size of vehicles.
At end of a nice residential street in Monkseaton. Big car park. Only van there. Very quiet. As a woman alone I was a little wary but all was fine
Stayed here loads of times, often the only vehicle there. Really peaceful after all the sports are finished and a bit of shelter with the trees. Beware the bloke in blue car who parks right next to you in an empty car park before 8am. Let’s his dog out, and he sits looking at his phone while his dog barks non stop.
Large, mainly level, parking area next to playing fields and an all weather running track. Easy access and no height barriers; plenty of room to manoeuvre. There were some lads in cars chatting until about 11pm but they weren’t a concern. You could leave your van here and catch the Metro at Monkseaton into town.

No height limit and quiet car park in the middle of a park. Car park busy in the afternoon with sports clubs and dog walkers but emptied out at night. Felt safe as in the middle of nice housing.
Ideal for a couple of nights. Very quiet night. A few dog walkers early morning. Short walk into town. Coffee stall also in carpark but unfortunately toilets are closed. We got water and emptied waste in toilets when passing through Seaton Sluice 2 miles away. Whitley Bay doesn't appear to welcome mohos. This was the only accessible parking in area.
Level hard standing in a residential area but not too close to houses or gardens. Felt safe for an overnight stop, especially arriving after dark.
This spot is lovely but definitely came on the wrong day, must be football on a Wednesday, car park full to the brim really busy, can’t even try to leave as too many cars unable to get out.

Flat car park next to recreation ground. Really quiet. A few dog walkers around and houses next to the park but not close enough to see/be seen. Feels very safe. Easy 15 min. cycle down to the front/Spanish City, less than half an hour to walk. Some shops nearby too. Also very near to a Metro station so you could easily get into Newcastle too.
