Cronins Yard Campsite is very quiet with beautiful surroundings. The road up is very narrow but manageable. It's a very popular spot for walks or climbs in the mountains. If the reception is close just drive up to the barrier and it will open, park up and locate their contact details by the toilet area behind reception

Aparkaleku handia eta nahiko ondo nibelatus. Baina ez da dohaineko aparkalekua. Aparkalekuaren sarreran hesi bat dago eta baimena eskatu behar da sartzeko. Sarrerak bakarrik 2€ balio ditu.

Gaua igaro nahi bada 15€ ordaindu behar dira. Kanping batek eskaintzen dituen zerbitzuak eskaintzen ditu honek ere: komunak, dutxatzeko aukera (1€), ur zikinak hustutzeko aukera, ur garbia, argia...

Errepideko azken hiru kilometroak nahiko estuak dira. Autokarabana eta kanperren kasuan, kontuz

Super Erfahrung!

looked like a great place to stop. but no dogs allowed. we were allowed to fill up and empty though.

  • 4/5

4.5! We pulled up the evening before hiking Carrauntuhill! Paid the owner 15euro, very reasonable (and gave us back 2euro to exit). Toilets and facilities open all night and we're very clean. lovely cafe open during day and they sell lovely beer and cider! Starting point for lots of hikes. Very few other vans in the area!

This place is in a stunning valley for the highest peak in Ireland . Loved it , it’s more like a campsite with all the facilities you would need including electric. One of our favourite stop overs .

  • 5/5

We rang ahead and were told that the cafe is only open at weekends in the winter. Parked for the day €2 to walk up Carountoohil mountain. Toilets,’water and waste disposal were available, were very clean and worked well.

It was our first night in Ireland and our first night in our rental. The hook ups to electricity and water were easy to figure out. We called in advance and made sure we could arrive late at night. We paid the next morning, 15eur+8eur for electricity and 2eur cash to leave the parking. Well worth it if you want an early start to the hikes. Tea house was nice with home made goods and souvenirs.

Beautiful location at what’s basically a base camp for hikes and mountaineering. Extremely friendly staff!!! Everything you could want with a van regarding infrastructure. And everything is new and very clean. Sure, you have to pay for showers, but that’s more than ok considering that they are open to and used by hikers and the very reasonable price to stay overnight. Love the place!

  • 5/5

Great stop for many facilities like losing grey/black water, showers (1€ coins), (non)recycable bins etc. Very friendly people. We didn’t stay but could use these facilities for free. Barrier didn’t work but normally there is a 2€ fee for parking. If you want to climb Carrauntoohil this is the perfect spot (no dogs allowed on the trail however).

  • 5/5

Wonderful place, peaceful, quiet with great facilities (camp kitchens, coin-operated showers and toilets open all night). Plug-in €23 per night. Great for an early start on the mountains and a quiet rest afterwards.

  • 5/5

A great spot. We stayed 2 nights here with electric hook up for €23 per night as we were hiking Mt Carrauntoohil. Probably the best place you could stay if you want to hike the mountain from the van. Esther is so friendly and her Apple pie is a must try. All facilities clean and tidy and well managed.

  • 5/5

Private parking, large and flat. If you just want to park for the day it’s €2. Overnight is €15 without electricity. The ownersare currently in the process of building EHU, water and waste facilities. Showers and toilets already here and are open overnight. Small cafe and shop also. Very narrow road with passing places to get here. Large motorhomes would struggle but our 6m is fine.

  • 4/5

Parking privé au départ des randos. Nous avons payé 15€ pour la nuit. Calme.

  • 5/5

Excellent spot. Perfect for starting & finishing a hike. All the facilities are open all day/night. Owner’s lovely and helpful.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

staff are fab. kitchen with water, kettle, microwave fridge and freezer. perfect for climbing. Road up right but has plenty of pull in spots. Toilets open all night. plenty of bins. no dogs allowed on the mountain. Peaceful nights sleep. e10 a night for parking in the carpark. Cafe open 9-6. showers e1 minute

  • 5/5

Nice views and clean facilities. You need 1€ coins to operate the showers. They take some time to get warm. The barrier of the car park closed on us when trying to exit. You need to be quick to avoid paying the 2€ twice.

  • 5/5

Great spot! Absolute bargain for €10. Great facilities, super clean and perfect location for walking. No dogs allowed (although they did allow ours) and definitely no dogs on the trails.

  • 5/5

Great stop before climbing Carrantoohil or doing other hikes nearby. 2€ day charge is well worth it. You can use bathrooms, shower (1€/min), communal kitchen (with microwave, fridge, washing station, drinking water). Café / souvenir shop is really nice too. You can also stay there overnight (10€). Bins and recycling station available as well. Lovely owners!

Liegt am Ende einer Straße. Schön im Tal eingebettet. Duschen und Toiletten werden gerade erneuert. Nur ein kurzer Zwischenstopp fürs Duschen eingelegt. War möglich, da Chef nicht anwesend. Dusche 1€ pro Minute
