An excellent overnight stop. Good access. Quiet carpark set back from road next to village pond and site of ancient fort and medieval castle ruin within parkland area. Very quiet night til 6am when some noise from lorries on road through the village. Tea room open Wednesdays & weekends. Pub opposite. £1 for 24 hrs in ticket machine .

Great spot, loads of room, nice and flat. No services on site but great pubs and shops nearby. Next to a historic castle with lovely walks ...parking now £2 per 24 hours, no signs prohibiting overnighting

Here as I type. Parked overnight, no bother, didn’t notice any signs saying no overnight parking. A number of cars came in and out up until about 10pm. Quiet night, woke to ducks quacking

Sign definitely says no overnight parking although parking ticket doesn’t expire until 11.59. We chose to stay in The White Lion car park which is to left of castle. Landlord happy for Motorhomes to stay and it would appear do so regularly. It was a lovely local pub

A great little place to stop, beautiful surroundings with a Medieval Castle to visit for free. Stop over for a night.. Pretty quiet, no hassles at all, dog walkers start to appear about half 6am. A £1 to park and a cafe that opens at 09:30.. Enjoy the space of you decided to park here to rest for a night or just to explore the castle. Smiles and joy

Sehr ruhig. Parkschein gültig bis 23:59h, auf der Tafel neben dem Automaten steht „ no overnight“... Es waren trotzdem ein paar Womos da.

Had a very quiet and peaceful night here, plenty of space and toilets available in visitor centre during opening hours.

Nice little stopover. Turn tight left immediately after the castle coming from Oswaldtwisle. £1 per day. Stayed overnight 6/08/2019

Nuit très calme dans un super endroit. Nous réveiller le matin par les canards, très peu entendu les camions. 1 £ pour 24h. Cela se termine à 23h59 sur le ticket. Par courtoisie, j’ai repris un malgré que l'on soit reparti pour 10h

Picturesque and peaceful site with plenty of parking room by s village pond by s castle. We went late on a Friday night. Parking £1 for 24hours to help community guardianship of the castle and surrounds.Nice little cafe and second hand bookshop by the castle on the carpark too. No facilities but would go back.

Nice location. Great little castle and pond. Billy bonus was finding a Damson tree whilst on a walk.....ready to make Damson and Port Jam.

Parking très intimiste dans un joli cadre. Heureux de l'avoir trouvé pour une étape très agréable et surtout que ce type d'endroit est très rare en Angleterre. Comme mentionné pas de 5ème étoile à cause de la circulation au petit matin. Mais aucun problème, pour ceux qui ont le sommeil plus profond.

Actially reflection.. really only space for 2 or 3 vans. Empty carpark when I stayed in late April.

Would have given 5 stars except for morning traffic noise.. Very quiet at night though. Nice stopover. Thank you Whittington.
