Used to be a great stop over but council has stopped overnight staying. Still great views one of my favourite places to go. Great Vodafone signal.

  • 5/5

One of the best places I've yet been to in the uk for parking up and watching the sun set. Amazing views. As noted above, motorhomes are prohibited after 11pm but that still gives you plenty of time to see the sunset over the water in summertime.

  • 4/5

Great view, plenty of places to park (daytime only - council sign explicitly prohibits campers and motorbikes between 23:00 and 08:00). Recommend approach from Easterly (widemouth bay) direction rather than Westerly (Dizzard) due to steep/windy road. Our 6m van managed it but one steep uphill bend we’d likely have lost traction if it were a wet day.

  • 3/5

Big sign recently put up by Cornwall Council that says on the spot fines will be issued for overnight camping. After chatting to locals about this, they've been up there regularly handing out fines. A shame as it's a cracking view!

  • 4/5

Spot is very good although council have put a new sign up this morning. “Campers prohibited between 11:00- 08:00

  • 5/5

amazing view, plenty of other campers

  • 1/5

council sign now up no overnight stay permitted

  • 5/5

Cushty spot, can’t recommend enough. Perfect for sea views and widely loved by campers - get in early to avoid disappointment!

  • 5/5

Absolutely lush spot. Lovely views looking out to sea and super close to beach. Free parking, no signs. We got an overnight spot no problem but did fill up quick with space for about 10 vans at a squeeze. Everyone there was really friendly. No local amenities but would highly recommend if you're organised.

  • 4/5

A fab spot on a quiet road with great views. A tad busy with 5/6 other campervans/motorhomes. Tight and steep roads if coming from the south.

  • 4/5

Out the way but popular. Fits plenty of vans in and no one uses the road so quiet night.

  • 5/5

Great spot, quite with minimal road noise and traffic. Sound of the sea all night. I can tell you as a local, make sure you know the forecast wind speeds as widemouth does get some strong winds! Also watch out for the mud as it can get slippy to walk on, me and my partner both found that out!

  • 4/5

Amazing views, no traffic or light pollution, great walk. Coming up from the East is very narrow, close to the cliff edge and scary in the dark!! Very lucky we didn’t meet anyone. Felt better coming back down in the daylight!

  • 5/5

Arrived late and found a space easily. Only 5 campers here but it was a stormy night. Slept well despite the weather. Nothing disturbed us. Woke late to a few cars and a few vans left. Amazing views across to Bude. Added to our favourite spots. Left the opposite way to how we arrived. Was a little hair raising in our lwb t4 but we made it. We needed to go the way we came in via Widemouth Bay

  • 5/5

By far my fave park4night spot. i got here earlyish there were already vans there. unfortunately it rained all day but woke up to a dryer morning. you cant beat waking up to that amazing view. everyone friendly and felt really safe there as a female solo traveller. would highly reccomend and will deffinitely be back

  • 5/5

Was very busy but still managed to get a space and was a Saturday lovely spot to park and friend campers

  • 5/5

Beautiful views. Peaceful night. Was lovely meeting other people with their vans. Was full by 7pm so make sure you get there early to nab a spot. Was perfect for us to wake up and quickly drive to summerleaze in the morning for a surf.

  • 5/5

Great spot with stunning views of Bude. Only 10 spots available so you have to get there early or if there are cars then you can be patient and wait for a spot. No signs to say you cant park overnight :-)

  • 5/5

Always a pleasure camping here. Busy with full timers, but they’re all really friendly and up for a chat. Get here early as it does get busy and be respectful of where you park so as many people can fit in as possible! Brilliant views but not as comfortable if it is super windy as there is no protection..

  • 5/5

We stayed here last night and had good nights sleep and the view from the benches is stunning, the ground is sloping slightly but we didn't mind, the only thing I would say is get here early as it does get busy, even during midweek with 11 other campers/motorhomes here but overall a solid stay, we would stay again.

  • 5/5

Great spot! Space for plenty but very busy spot. Some of the best benches of Cornwall bless this spot. Only mishap was a run in with a local lorry driver who uses the lay by to turn around so be mindful of this when parking! Coastal views are super

  • 4/5

Great view, nice easy road to get here from Widemouth. 5 or 6 vans here overnight, a few cars. Straight onto the SW coastal path for a dog walk. On the top of the cliff so bound to be windy.

  • 5/5

Great place to stay with amazing views of Widemouth bay. Really relaxed vibe and could stay a couple of nights. Pretty busy with other campers so good idea to get there with plenty of time, although we all moved around to accommodate a few vans arriving late.

  • 5/5

Nice place to spend a night. Seven other campervans stayed the night, but still slept like a log. Views are magnificent. Nice hike to Bude (and return) along the beaches (walk back down the lane to the OA Surf club and take signed public footpath to the Widemouth beach (15km round trip to Bude).

  • 5/5

Stayed here a few times. Stunning

  • 3/5

If full, keep driving 10 minutes south (careful on the roads, our 2wd Cali made it but you need to go slow and steady. I’m from Cornwall and have never seen a hill like it) and you’ll find a small lay-by on the left which will fit 2 campers/ a single motor home.

  • 1/5

BEWARE! Had to get rescued by the AA as got stuck in a valley on the approach from the South after having almost burnt out the clutch. 30% inclines/declines with very sharp turns, we ended up wheel spinning and rolling back. We drive a Renault Master. The man who rescued us has had to rescue many others and advised his own truck only just about makes it up and is rear wheel drive.

  • 4/5

Park here quite often. Gets busy at the weekend now though, used to be just one or two of us up there.

  • 5/5

Wonderful spot, among my favourites of the last 11 weeks, irrespective of how windy it gets.

  • 3/5

Big lay-by with enough flat space for a couple of vans and even more space if you have blocks for the slightly uneven areas. Amazing view. First night there were other campers but second night I was on my own and was disturbed twice in the middle of the night (once at 2am) by cars parking up for 30-1hr with engines running, bit weird, freaked me out!

  • 5/5

A lovely quiet lay-by with stunning sea views.

  • 1/5

Evening started promisingly but soon ruined by inconsiderate campers intent on having an illegal rave not following Covid19 rules with gathering involving more than 6. Left to sleep elsewhere.

  • 5/5

Eine wirklich super Aussicht über das Meer und die Küste. Der Sonnenuntergang war mega. Standen Abends allein dort, in der Nacht sind aber immer mehr dazugekommen. Hat aber soweit nicht gestört.

  • 5/5

Great spot! Great views, peaceful, good 4g signal. Happily stay here again.

  • 5/5

Excellent over night spot, busy with other vans but quiet night and stunning views

  • 5/5

    Really good spot

  • 5/5

One of the best on here absolutely lovely and quiet at night stunning views

  • 4/5

Was there last night, large space and only one other van. Great view once the mist cleared and a lovely seating area with rustic memorial seating. Great for an early morning cuppa. Much better that the Black Rock cafe option which was packed.

  • 4/5

Great spot - some people taking up far too much space for one van though and others having to go back down the (pretty steep!) hill

  • 5/5

Won’t find a better place to camp in a van

  • 5/5

Breathtaking sea views, come from Widemouth Bay route (do not try the other route..) and follow coastal route. quite steep but do-able even in an older van. popular spot with locals watching sunset, so come early or late to get a spot. no disruption, quiet, no facilities but fantastic 4G signal. breezy but perfect. Two other campers when we stayed.

  • 5/5

Busy spot. Free and stunning view.

  • 5/5

Approached from Widemouth Bay, 2.4m wide motorhome. A bit steep and and windy but there are pass points. The view is amazing.

  • 5/5

Great little spot, very quiet and amazing views. Definitely recommend following the advice about the hills, very steep!

  • 5/5

Lovely but defo come in from Widemouth side. Road from Millook extremely steep. View fantastic. Can do v.short walk with dogs to view point/benches. Highly recommended.

  • 5/5

Lovely views, flat lay-by and tonnes of space. Would strongly suggest approaching from the Widemouth Bay direction. We didn’t and had some hairy moments in the dark on 30% hills and very steep corners! There are some nice benches just down on the headland if you take the path through the gorse from the lay-by.

  • 4/5

On est monté avec un camping-car de 6 m mais c'est vraiment raide et sans vision sur ce qui arrive en face. C'est très beau en haut !

  • 5/5

Amazing view and so quiet. Seems like the only free overnight space in the area so left it tidy to keep it like that. A lot of walkers came during the day but don’t bother at all

  • 5/5

Absolutely perfect! A quiet country road, only heard one car all night. The sea views are awesome here and if you walk down to the front there is a hidden little look out with benches.

  • 3/5

Gratuit et pas de no overnight en Angleterre c'est rare autrement par temps sec impeccable pour tout gabarits de motorhom

  • 5/5

Just spent the night here, nice spot. Quite at night. Got here just in time for the sunset which didn’t disappoint. Cracking view to wake up too also.

  • 5/5

Very beautiful place, arrived in the dark so the view was an extra surprise in the morning. We arrived at 1am, there were already 4 vans there, but still plenty of room for us.

  • 5/5

Amazing views, 3 other vans when I stayed

  • 5/5

No facilities and nowhere to walk the dog but fantastic views and seems popular with locals, quiet but not isolated

  • 5/5

Absolutely stunning views. The roads not to bad, there are passing places, you can also see the vehicles coming. The views are amazing.

  • 4/5

Drove from boscastle along the coast road. Some hairy moments even for a small camper van. Millook hill needed two takes in first gear. Lovely drive. Lovely view.

  • 4/5

Endroit magnifique surplombant la baie. Route très étroite pour y accéder. Nous avons essuyé une grosse tempête et sommes redescendus dans les terres à une heure du matin vu les violentes bourrasques pour finir la nuit dans un parking de bord de route...

  • 4/5

Do not use the post code as you will get lost. Come from Widemouth bay side. Good views, but a narrow lane. Nice walk along the cliff top with the dog

  • 4/5

    Super spot, très belle vue.

  • 4/5

Brilliant spot, larger than expected layby. Quiet with excellent views to Widecombe Bay

  • 4/5

    Spectacular views and quiet.
