Beautiful picnic area overlooking Cow Green Reservoir. Plenty of parking and a small portable toilet on site all year round. Quite a few motor homes and campers stay here as well as hikers, dog walkers and fishermen. One of the most scenic tranquil places in the county. Police occasionally drive through so it’s pretty safe. As long as your not up too no good they will leave you alone.

beutiful spot but no overnight parking signs been put up all over and Nature England park rangers moving people on. but you can park at any of the other local reservoirs, grassholme, selset and hury which are owned by Northumbria water .

Quiet, free and a good starting point for hikings.

Stayed here midweek and was the only camper, bit scary being a woman alone but good if you want peace and quiet although v windy. Great 3 hr walk the next day! Would come back with partner especially winter time, I expect it’s busier in summer months

fantastic views would be great overnight stay as we have our own toilet & bin etc. but not allowed...moved on by ranger. other reservoirs charge a nominal fee to park overnight.

Stayed here last night, room for a good few campers. amazing views, flat gravel parking areas, portaloo, and a pub on the entrance to the road which does great beer and lovely home cooked pub food. it says no overnight stays on one of the 4 car park areas.
