We stayed overnight on a Saturday night. Yes there were a handful of lorries but they didn’t affect us. After all it is free

Set back behind a barrier of trees- can hear the traffic but we stayed on a Saturday night and it wasn’t loud enough to wake us or bother us. Bins and two picnic benches there. Was just us and one other van. Perfect to drive back into the new forest for a morning walk at Godshill

Nice little spot as far as lay-bys go, privacy from wall of trees, but seemed to be very busy throughout the night. Used as a stop for truckers too so lots of big lorries going past you in the night. Noisy.

Good place to sleep the night. Separated from the road by a wide tree filled reservation. Fairly quiet road
BobLove07/06/2022A lot of space here and loved that it was quite set back, behind trees, and with little phone signal so far from any cell towers. The noise from the road and parked lorries was a bit disturbing around 5-6am, and we happened to park where the food van normally sets up so they woke us to ask that we move around 7am! Therefore maybe avoid parking on the east side of the lay-by! :-)

Added bonus was the catering van that arrived in the morning. Good sleep - very level. Tad noisy when traffic started before 6am.
