prima plek. gratis van 6 tot 8 uur in de ochtend. daarna 5 £ voor 2 uur. het is via een mooi paadje 1km lopen naar centrum.Brecon. het uitzicht is prachtig op de Usk.

  • 5/5

Such a great place to visit, it can get very busy during day time and weekends. A plus - Short distance to walk to town

  • 5/5

Busy in July, but still plenty of space. A nice walk into town.

  • 5/5

stop here twice now . lovely view very peaceful. toilet is 20p ,lots off room .

  • 4/5

Nice place to stay with lots of other campers (there is lots of space). Completely free to stay if you leave before 8am. There was lots of noise of people driving in and talking around midnight but after a while it cleared and was a peaceful night

  • 5/5

Stayed here overnight last week, great spot next to the river Usk. Large carpark in a quiet location it’s around a 10 minute walk in to the centre. Very close to one of the start routes for Pen y fan 10 mins drive ( Narrow lanes might not be suitable for large motorhomes )

  • 5/5

Stayed here overnight on recommendation from a friend. Great place to stay with pubs and amenities near by. Probably a great place during good weather, right on the water. Would definitely recommend

  • 5/5

Stayed here last night, and really recommend it, especially with kids. There’s a park, lots of families around in here day, and an arcade. We walking into Brecon too, and it was lovely. Toilets are 20p, and ok. There are no other facilities but we were off grid so no problem for us

  • 5/5

Nice stop over after a long drive, paid to stay for the day so I could enjoy walking my dog around the area. Not very clear parking lines so parked in the middle with my 7m motorhome, 3 other small campers around. Very quiet during the day until lunchtime when many motorhome showed up to stop for lunch.

  • 5/5

Stopped here a couple of night ago. Great park up for our Talbot Eldiss motorhome. Quiet area with only two other camper vans present. Felt safe and slept well. The small narrow road down towards the carpark was easily accessible for our 8 foot wide motorhome. Thank you Brecon Council for providing 18:00 - 08:00 free camper van parking. The 1 day in 7 camping rule works well.

  • 5/5

One of our favourite park ups ever. We are an 8m long 7.5t converted Horsebox. Nice and flat, free overnight but limited to one night. 20 minute walk into town along the river. Great place and we will be back. There was work going on in car park this last time so half the car park was fenced off but usually plenty of space.

  • 5/5

Impressive place for a stop over. Overlooking the river, flat tarmac car park and a public toilet a short walk for 20p. From 6.00pm to 8.00am free to park for motor homes and vans, although this is for only one night in seven. Ideal place to stop over and walk into Brecon.

  • 5/5

perfect location. plenty of level spaces. 15 min walk to plenty of shops. right on the river. free of charge from 6pm-8am. toilets 20p. £4 for over 4 hours for a car or van. £8 for over 4 hours for a motor home. Allowed to stay 1 night every 7 nights.

  • 5/5

Fantastic . The other car parks have banned overnight. Bonkers as the town looks as if it needs the trade. And, they were empty !

  • 5/5

Good stop for the night, short walk into the town centre. Two large car parks to choose from, lots of space in both. Free after 6pm.

  • 5/5

Motorhomes still permitted to stay overnight for free- very busy but plenty of room. Still a nice spot.

  • 1/5

Auf dem Parkplatz ist das Übernachten verboten.

  • 4/5

Nice place but expensive for a car park. Prices have risen to £8.00 for 4+ hours between 8:00-18:00.

  • 4/5

Nice spot, next to river, quiet at night. £5 after 8am but dont mind paying that for a free overnight car park.

  • 4/5

A great spot by the river. Large car park with plenty of room for everyone. The toilets are a short walk away (where there are also a few spaces). Popular with other campers.

  • 5/5

What a spot! We arrived at 17:45. Plenty of space. Few other campervans/motor homes parked up. Views of the canal and a field off the canal walk to exercise dogs, even a little stand with free dog bags for when you forget! 20 minute walk from the centre. Very quiet throughout the night. Only downside was the card machine for pay and display the following morning was broken, luckily we had cash!

  • 5/5

beautiful spot. quiet and peaceful. lovely area.

  • 5/5

spent a quiet peaceful night, beautiful location, paddle and rowing boats for hire, fees still the same as in previous posts,7 minutes drive into brecon Town, and then there's also the canal that's well worth a visit.

  • 5/5

A superb facility for sensible van owners to park up overnight and continue on their travels next day. Peaceful and spacious. Let down by a motorhome user with a generator which saw multiple usage despite a large No Camping sign on entry. Carry on like this and the facility to park here will be removed

  • 5/5

Excellent place! Busy but clear spaces and very pleasant location.

  • 1/5

It was ok but we were woken up by boy racers doing skids right next the all of the motorhomes on a Saturday night. The toilets cost 20p and had no toilet paper and also closed at 7pm apart from the disabled one. You can’t charge money for the toilet if you don’t have toilet paper!! Then we got charged by the grumpy dude a few pound for leaving slightly after 8am despite the carpark being empty.

  • 4/5

Nice parking spot by the river. Busy during the day especially at the weekend. Small cafe for ice cream etc. Boat hire. More parking further on. £8 for the day pay at machine which takes cards. Free overnight, leave by 8am. Peaceful sleep. Pleasant 20min walk into town along the river. A few dog walkers in the morning who parked right beside vans (plenty of space), with noisy dogs.

  • 5/5

Ideal parking spot. Free parking in between hours of 6pm-8am. Several motor homes/camper vans. Plenty of space, with a nice little view. Motor homes/camper-vans are only permitted to stay for 1 night.

  • 4/5

Free to park 6pm - 8am but be careful as we stayed last night and around 9am the council parking attendant turned up and was issuing tickets to those vans that people hadn’t come out from and paid from 8am - and it was Sunday morning on the bank holiday weekend.

  • 5/5

Arrived after 6pm and left at 6am as we were doing a sunrise walk - completely undisturbed night, we were the only vehicle in the carpark. Didn’t brave the walk to the toilets so not sure if they were open. Completely free so no complaints (except for the fact we missed the lovely river view as we were there in darkness only!) 5 min walk into town, 15 min drive to pen y fan carpark too.

  • 5/5

Great location by a river kids park next door and toilet 3 minutes walk but the toilets close at 7pm

  • 5/5

As others report, a great spot and quiet at night. Great playing field for the dog and walk along the river. Just be aware that the pay machine refuses to accept cards so take plenty of coins. There is another machine by the toilets which may accept cards but I wouldn't rely on it.

  • 5/5

Great place, by the river, a short walk to town. Lots of space. About 10 vans the night we were there, but a very quiet evening. Some people canoeing on the river; you could launch for the site if you have one with you. 20p public toilet a short walk across the park, open 7:30am - 7pm. A great place all in all. Recommended

  • 4/5

    use what3words ///panic.grapevine.jabs to locate

  • 5/5

Great park up which is free from 6pm - 8am.. we arrived about 7pm and was plenty of space.. there are public toilets about 5 minute walk along the river which costs 20p.. there was a sign saying they close at 7pm but was still open at 8.30pm for us to use.. location is flat and had no disturbances throughout the night.. highly recommended.. also to note.. only allowed to stay 1 night in 7.

  • 5/5

First off grid camp. First time in this van. lovely Riverside spot, beautiful traditional town a short walk away. pay and display temperament so need coins(although some just stuck a note in their window, but I'm not taking that chance)! Thanks for a great app too!

  • 4/5

Nickel, très calme et jolie coin !

  • 5/5

Excellent overnight spot. Next to river with views of river, little park, football playing field, riverside walks & boat hire. There were 3 vans the night we stopped. Very quiet and restful nights sleep. Free after 6pm until 8am in the morning, Definitely recommend

  • 5/5

Top plek!

  • 5/5

lovely park up! a short walk to the local shops (and pubs) but far enough away that it was so quiet and peaceful. beautiful view as it's right on the river! would definitely stay again. larger parking spots and fairly flat.

  • 5/5

Beautiful spot, sign confirms it is allowed for 1 night. Only 1 other van here with us and plenty of space. Lovely views of the river with benches, I even had a little swim. Short walk to a cute town with good shops/facilities. Play park right beside carpark. Some locals came with dogs, kids etc and all were friendly and said hello as we were sat out, none seemed annoyed by us being there

  • 5/5

Stayed the night, no issues around 6 other vans on a Tuesday night. We paid at 8am for the rest of the day. Toilets nearby.

  • 5/5

Great spot, has everything you need for a quick overnight stop. Doesn't seem to get too busy either.

  • 5/5

Schöner Platz! Tagsüber mit Parkgebühr. Der Spielplatz und Park dahinter ist super, die Toiletten befinden sich auch dort - kosten 20 Cent und sind nur bis frühen Abend offen.

  • 5/5

We parked up for one night on a Thursday in June with no problems. Lovely spot right next to the river with a 10 minute river side walk into Brecon. It was quiet with only 4 other vans parked overnight. £2 an hour till 6pm then free until 8am. The pay machine can be a bit temperamental and we couldn't pay by contactless but card/cash was OK.

  • 5/5

Saturday evening on jubilee weekend and only a few other vans here! Very windy elsewhere so this is more sheltered and a great park up as per other comments.

  • 4/5

Nice park up by the river. Busy in the daytime. Locals seem friendly. quite at night. Public toilets not far away and only short walk from town center. Was busy with alot of mh and vans. Luckily I was there on jubilee weekend so it was free all weekend. but arrive after 6pm and leave before 8am and no charge.

  • 5/5

Excellent car park, overnight parking for free, stunning views of the river, lovely walks as well.Locals seem friendly :) I tried getting a ticket for the morning to save me getting up early (like previous comments) but ticket machine wouldn't allow me to select an option (possibly because we arrived during free parking period). bear this in mind, if like me, you don't want to get up early.

  • 5/5

quiet night parked up here.been here before.short walk from the little town.

  • 5/5

Stayed overnight on BH Monday arrived 1st thing and paid £8 to park for the day. No more than 5 vans were parked. Great location with a short walk into the town and lovely riverside walks for the dogs. Used the toilet facilities a couple of mins walk from the car park, 20pence, very well looked after and clean. Will definitely visit again, thanks Powys Council for making this facility available.

  • 2/5

We arrived mid afternoon and were the third van on site. We explored the town had a couple of drinks and returned by the time we had eaten and washed up there were 21 vans!!! if I hadn't of had a beer we would have moved on. no wonder locals complain. I felt guilty being one of them.

  • 4/5

stayed one night, no issues. nice view of river. ee phone and internet reception good. tv signal good. bins nearby.

  • 5/5

Stayed there on our first night in new van level quiet few other vans there but nice stop over

  • 5/5

Great overnight park up right in the town of brecon beacon. we arrived just after 6pm and there was already a few campers there. parked overlooking the lake no noise just a few locals passing by walking their dogs. left first thing at 8am free park up 6pm-8am

  • 5/5

Great park up. One night only, nice and quiet over night, right on River Usk large car park. Free between 6pm-8am after that time Vehicles up to 3ton £1 ph over 3 ton £2 ph phone/internet: Three a little slow, Vodafone 4G

  • 1/5

DON’T PARK IN THE SMALLER CAR PARK if there is more then 1/2 campers already here. This is car park used by locals for clubs, dog walks and meet-ups. Recently there has been so much traffic here that locals can not park and are getting annoyed. Please use the bigger adjacent car park in which locals are more then happy to accept campers.

  • 5/5

Fab place!!! Stayed with our campervan at the smaller upper car park near the toilets. Paid at the machine for parking in the morning in advance as we're no early birds ;-) Toilets are 20p and seemed open all night. They were cleaned in the evening as well as morning and were pretty decent. No drinking water at the sink though. Some dog walkers in the morning, all in all very quiet and relaxed.

  • 5/5

Found a great spot for the evening to relax and get my head down. Backed up on the river Usk, nice and quiet. Will definitely return here

  • 5/5

Fabulous spot. Daytime parking machine takes coins only, so be prepared. Motorhomes £8 for 4hours. Free 6pm to 8am.

  • 4/5

Plenty of parking and fairly quiet at night. only a short walk into town where there's plenty of shops and places to eat/drink. parking is free from 6pm-8am and then it's only £1 per hour after that (be warned the wardens will be around just before 8am). stay away from Nichola's "black beauty" Lol. not too sure if the toilets were non functional after 9pm?

  • 5/5

An amazing overnight stop thoroughly recommend. Two car parks, smaller one adjacent to the toilets - 20p charge and larger car park next to River Usk, boating hire and ice cream shop. Open green spaces and wonderful walks - just brilliant for a one night stop.

  • 5/5

Omg what a beautiful place . Riverside walks

  • 5/5

Lovely area it was free overnight, had bbq area, good location, has a children’s are, toilets (20p), field, Gurkha path, boathouse, cafe, close to town and levelled area with great views. Wasn’t expensive to park during the day and would defo visit again.

  • 5/5

Great Place to stop for 1 night. .Wales is getting less and less campervan friendly and it's great to find these spots. Here for 1 night just to get away from the house. Park, Boats, Fishing shops near by what more does one need. oh and its Free from 6pm to 8am. Well done Powys Council.

  • 5/5

Nice spot but only one night. Great view of river. Parking charges apply between 08.00 & 18.00. Good WiFi and phone signal.

  • 5/5

Great place to spend the night right on the river. Short walk in to Brecon, popular with walkers during the day a couple of vans overnight but plenty of space.

  • 5/5

Great view. Pretty busy last week, about 10 vans. Lots of space. Narrow road leading to it.

  • 5/5

What a great setting, our first night in our new coach. Free parking from 18.00 until 08.00. Apart for 1 visit from the boys racers at 01.45 for 30sec it was great. The next day was super busy with the car park absolutely jammed to a point where we were blocked in for about 5 hours until some unhelpful dick moved his car. We are 7.5ton and the access is a little tight but negotiable. This is a real gem and worth visiting when all shops, pubs etc re open.

  • 5/5

Brilliant spot for a one night stay. allowed to stay 1/7 nights. 10 mins walk along the canal into Brecon town. portaloo there.

  • 5/5

Lovely little find. 15 min walk into the town centre

  • 5/5

Beautiful location. Safe. Great river views. No worry of crazy wardens chucking you out in the middle of the night - toilets in walking distance, ice cream stand and canoe hire place. Great stop.

  • 5/5

Extremely quiet at night. Lots of other campervans (arrived at 9:30pm on a Sunday night & had the last space) Free to park. 4G phone signal.

  • 5/5

Nice stop over, quite at night, but barking dogs woke us early in morning, lovely views, nice walk into town.

  • 4/5

This is a delightful place. Views and a nice walk. Can be noisy during the day with children in the next door park and dog walkers, but quiet at night.

  • 4/5

Excellent parking spot right on the river. Benches for seating by the river too and a cafe. Perfect for a nights stopover! £4 for all day and free after 6pm. Cafe currently closed but a kiosk selling ice creams, crisps etc was very busy. Best to get here in the morning as afternoons from lunchtime to 4pmish are very busy (and a bit noisy when we were there). A stroll into Brecon is just 15 minutes away (slow walking!)

  • 5/5

Amazing location. very peaceful. beautiful spot. we spent 2 nights here. it was lovely .

  • 4/5

Still free overnight. Plenty of walks if you have a dogs. Steady walk into the town. Children’s play area adjacent. Few locals swim in the river which I must admit looked inviting. Plenty of room. Police drove round in the evening and early morning.

  • 5/5

Amazing spot!! Parked here September 2019 for a night on the way up to Snowdonia and a night on the way back. Toilets were ran and supported my the Gurkhas and there is a lovely walk called the Gurkha Trail down by the river. Other campers over night too but everyone so lovely and respectful of space! The rules are that you spend 1 night out of 7.

  • 5/5

Grand parking en bord de rivière, très au calme, juste à côté d'un grand parc. Les locaux et promeneurs de chiens sont adorables. Nous y avons passé une très bonne nuit avec un autre camping-car.

  • 5/5

Nice and quiet place next to a pretty river. Free overnight parking.

  • 4/5

Still same terms and conditions apply, very tranquil this time of year with a beautiful winter sunset.

  • 5/5

Spent a fab day/night here last night. As previous Comment slight price increase to £4 all day then free after 6pm until 8am. Very quiet and a lovely walk along the river into Brecon takes about ten minutes. 3 other campers were there too. Didn’t use the toilets near by but camper van next door did and said they were fab. Pity other councils aren’t as accommodating as Powys council are.

  • 5/5

Brilliant spot! Lush walk through the adjoining field and along the river. Footpath and toilets maintained by the local Gurkha community. Yes the toilets are 20p but you’ll not spend a better 20p EVER!! 5 other vans there for the night and no issues. Day parking prices have increased - £1/hour £2/2hrs £3/4hrs and £4/over 4hrs. Overnight (6pm-8am) remains free. Will return on another trip. Thank you Brecon.

  • 5/5

Peaceful sleep by the river great place to stop

  • 5/5

Great place to stay, we stayed for 1 night lovely and quiet, 4 other motorhomes also. Would definitely go back.

  • 4/5

Il y a un autre parking avec quelques places juste après. Nous avons dormi à celui-ci.Super pour un parking près d'une ville. Gratuit, calme, au bord du canal et avec des WC.

  • 5/5

What a great overnight stay, parked sun 28 July 19 , short walk to great dog friendly pub Tap Room on Main Street great food and craft ales - toilets are 20p and clean just up top of field very very quiet stopover

  • 5/5

Stayed here over the weekend. great spot to base yourself from if you plan on walking in the national park or visiting the town. The prices have changed from what is in the picture. Toilets are clean and 20p in, however they do close at around 8 or 9 until the morning.

  • 5/5

Recently stayed here. A lovely quiet and clean spot with views of the river and playing fields when parked. Huge dog walking area and park for children. 4G signal. Short and gentle walk in to Brecon town. Free between 6pm-8am. Would definitely stay again when in Brecon!

  • 4/5

Nice quiet spot to stay the night. Toilets a short walk away, 20p and really clean. Lovely view of the river. 10 minute walk into town.

  • 5/5

Great parking spot for day and overnight. £3.20 all day and free from 6pm till 8am. quite and clean site. nice walks along river bank and only 10 mins into lovely Brecon and all its got to offer. toilet's clean and available 24hrs. 20p coin.

  • 5/5

A lovely spot by the river. Short walk into brecon town centre. Lots of space and free from 6pm until 8am. There is a kiosk/cafe selling ice creams and snacks called the boatyard which also has lots of slot machines so it can be busy during the day.

  • 4/5

Good spot for one night. Busy with cars during the day, but in the evening it clears out. Parked in a bay right by the river. There were 4 of us here. Very quiet overnight with no passing traffic. Toilets are 20p and are a short walk across a child's playground. If you want to be close to the loos and not so bothered about the river view, there are spaces near the loos in a car park 20m along.

  • 5/5

Spent a lovely quiet Saturday night here with eight other motorhomes present and there was still plenty of space in this large car park. 4G signal very good. Recommended.

  • 5/5

Excellent place to stop, nice and quiet (Wednesday night in late March)

  • 5/5

Very nice stopover along the river. Very peaceful, and the parking is flat. I Would highly recommend it. Très belle étape. On a beaucoup apprécié. Merci pour le partage

  • 5/5

Stayed here in August. Beautiful peaceful spot along the river. Park and playground beside the car park. Walking distance to the town. Highly recommended!! No height restrictions campers are allowed stay for one night. Parking is free from 6pm to 10am
