Dedicated spaces for motorhomes and campervan, £10 for 24 hours, clean and tidy lots of walks nearby. Toilets available (although closed until 9th December) and water tap for drinking water (push button though not hose type) and chemical disposal point.

  • 4/5

Level ground, toilets, water and chemical disposal all next to the beach, funicular and pier. Unfortunately 2 of the 4 extra long motorhome bays were taken by small VW campervans, and as there was an Enforcement officer issuing tickets to some cars while we were there he advised we would have pay for two normal bays if we wanted to overnight there.

  • 4/5

Reasonable place spent 2 quiet nights , easy to access the town on the funicular railway, only negative PUBLIC TOILETS ARE MANKY , during our 36hour stay the toilets never appeared to have been cleaned, dispite the guy in the orange being around all day

  • 5/5

pay to park, limited overnight designated bays & amenities including ELSAN point & fresh water. A lovely spot with picnic benches & plenty of walks & chip shop opposite. Great place to explore

  • 3/5

  • 5/5

Love it! Great location. Close to the beach, The Ship Inn pub 2mins walk, chippy across the road, everything you need for a night or two.

  • 4/5

Excellent location next to miniature steam railway, walks along the stream to a playground and Italian garden and 5 mins from beach and the tram up to town. Street lamps at night so park carefully. Motorhome spaces were full and sought after but parked in a regular spot. Paid £10.20 for all day and £10.20 overnight. Free between 6am and 9am.

  • 4/5

Decent park up, with extensive grassland/woodland walks immediately off it - brilliant for dog owners. Was very peaceful and has the benefit of toilets, water point and chemical toilet disposal. Saltburn itself is a small but interesting enough place, with a few nice shops, pubs and bars.

  • 4/5

Peaceful nights sleep here. So close to the town/beach. The wee chippy across the road is delicious

  • 5/5

Great parkup...got there about 12 midday..paid till 8pm...then £10 till 6am...free until 9am..paid for all day again £10...so all in paid £30...but was well worth it..water point.. elsen point.clean toilets..walks along the beach/country side..loads of food places/dog friendly pubs..a few campers there...loved it..felt safe..not great 3 signal but you are In a dip...Will deffo be back

  • 4/5

Perfect pitch up on the coast, toilets accessible and plenty space. Lovely walks around and nice pub just down the road.

  • 3/5

Just a warning that the charges have now changed. I arrived at 17:00 and had to pay £17 from then until 6am the following morning. Of course I could pay a further £3 then to have a lie in but that makes it a rather expensive less than 24hr stay!!

  • 5/5

Stayed here for one night, £10 from 8pm until 6am, then parking charges start from 9am. Toilets available, water tap, and elsan disposal. There are plenty of outlets selling food and a good pub nearby. Why can't there be more like this!

  • 4/5

Parked in the main carpark, think overflow may have been better. Lovely setting next to small river, opposite beach and 5 minutes from the funicular. Lots of road noise. Elsan at side of toilet block. Water tap at the back. New parking charges in place, currently quite a confusing parking app! 9am - 8pm £3 for 1 hour, £5 for 2 hours, £7 for 3hours. £10 all day. 8pm - 6am £10.

  • 3/5

Council now charge £10 for overnight stays from 10pm-6am

  • 5/5

We got lucky on arrival (1pm) carpark was busy but thankfully one MH was just leaving one of the 5 spaces dedicated to MH, there is an overflow carpark with 5 Spaces parralell to the road, at 7.5m we would fit in a bay but would struggle to get out if someone parked at the back and front of us. Now £10 for £24h You can catch the bus into Whitby on the seafront. Elson point also availible. 24/4/25.

  • 4/5

stayed here friday of the long BH weekend. busy but everyone respectful and felt safe, water taps and chemical toilet disposal. free toilets do shut in the evening as mentioned by others. right by the beach with great views and walks (and fish and chips). some youths driving past after dark beeping at us all but they got bored of doing that just before midnight. lovely spot, would recommend!

  • 5/5

Was very busy but parking up for one night with everything you need on site and fantastic views near to a beach and fish and chip shops can’t complain

  • 1/5

No car parking chargers overnight, but no toilets either. Toilets open at 9am and shut at 4pm which is pretty ridiculous. I would happily have paid a car park fee for access to toilets.

  • 5/5

Brilliant place. Very good steakhouse next door. Brilliant views and right next to the sea with all the facilities you need for a Campervan trip.

  • 5/5

Level carpark with free overnight parking. Water, rubbish and chemical toilet disposal. One we’d definitely recommend and use again.

  • 4/5

Nice convenient park up, with plenty of walks and things to do in the local area, I wish there was more places like this. I did manage to get in one of the Motorhome bays but the signage does say if you occupy 2 spaces you need to pay for 2 spaces. Must of been 10 vans there last night out of season, can imagine it’s rammed in summer. Eat and drank local and will be back.

  • 5/5

Lovely place to stop overnight, close to the beach and food places. Bit miffed that we couldn’t get water here, the tap has no thread. Really nice walks and scenery though.

  • 5/5

Stayed here Saturday into Sunday with about 9 other vans, nice quite night. Parking charges apply Monday to Sunday 08:00 to 18:00 365 days a year & can be paid at the machine using cash or contactless. Alternately you can use ringo app to pay online using your phone. £2.40 for 1 hour, £4.40 for 2 hours, £5.50 for 3 hours, £7.20 all day.

  • 5/5

Free to park overnight. If you wheels are in the parking bay you can park in any bay and pay for 1 spot - regardless of overhang into bay at back of you. Cost us £7.50 on Ringo app. Free Elsan point, toilets and water. Really helpful guy on duty at weekend. Great chippy across the road as well as an ice cream parlour.

  • 5/5

This is one of our favourite spots. There is plenty of space for our Motorhome. Toilets, water and a place to empty our chemical toilet.

  • 4/5

Nice and quiet, handy for the beach and the Italian Gardens. The Ship Inn at the end of the front only 5mins walk.

  • 4/5

A very busy place and the car park is full until about 7/8PM. We had no issues and it was a very quiet night. Phone signal is very poor so bare that in mind. slight slope on some areas

  • 5/5

We've just spent 2 nights here. Absolutely fantastic parkup. Toilets were open til 9pm. Busy (13 vans last night) but no bother at all. Would 100% stay here again

  • 5/5

stayed for 1 night. very limited space for campervans, but plenty of car bays, beautiful seafront with a spectacular view, it all flat on the promenade with chippy's, pubs, ice cream parlours, tramway and a pier with a few arcades, short walk to town but not easy access as very hilly with steps up the cliffs.

  • 2/5

Warning!!! Really nice little town with excellent pub near the park up. £7.20 for 24 hours. Toilet drop next to public toilets. We stopped in the overflow car park for 3 nights. Unfortunately on the 3rd night 4 or 5 men dressed in black clothing tried and almost suceeded in stealing our bikes from bike carrier. They dismantled the bike carrier to get them. We woke up and they ran off. Be wary!!

  • 5/5

Only 4 bays are for campervan and this is a very popular spot. The car park empties though and we could easily stay in a normal bay. All was quiet. There is an overflow car park which is even quieter. Elsan near to entrance / loos. Right by the beach so lovely to go and sit on a log, eat some fish and chips and watch the waves. Only 7.50. A good spot for an overnight.

  • 5/5

Tolle Übernachtungsmöglichkeit! Wir waren unter der Woche dort, es gab viele freie Plätze, so dass wir über Nacht mit unserem Auto mit Wohnwagen auf mehreren Parkplätzen stehen konnten.

  • 5/5

I’ve done a video on YouTube @ jonbuildz which shows you the area and parking facilities. Excellent stop e we arrive after 6pm free every night until 8am. £7.20 all day for parking after 8am until 6pm then free until the next morning. Great stop and that’s the reason why I vlog it.

  • 5/5

Just like to add that there is an overflow carpark near the pumping station past the miniature train. Stayed here for 2 nights, £7.20 for all day parking and free overnight. There are about 5 bays that are longer than the normal carpark space. I managed to get my 7m van in with slight overhang of the bike rack. Checked with warden and he said as long as the wheels are within the bay then it is OK

  • 4/5

nah am Strand, Toiletten vorhanden und auch um 21:00 noch geöffnet, sauber, genug Mülleimer

  • 5/5

Great stopover £7.20 for 24hrs elsan point and toilets open during the day. there are 4 motorhome bays 3 have drains for rain water, NOT grey waste. Great shops and bars and plenty of places for food too.

  • 5/5

Great spot with motor home spaces , free parking after 18.00 with toilets that shut late afternoon

  • 4/5

Great little stop over- You have to pay £7.20 if you are there during the day, mon- sun 800 - 1800 . After 1800 free. Toilets now have a time on them 900 -1600 , however we’re still open at 1900 , but they did close for the night . We parked in a normal bay as in a camper van . Thank you saltburn council for allowing us to free park,

  • 4/5

Popular overnight spot, only 4 longer spaces but plenty of car spaces. Regular visits by parking wardens before 6, so we bought 2 spaces. Overnight free 6pm-8am. Toilets open all night, water and elsan point, pubs, ice cream, coffee, fish n chips etc. what more do you need

  • 5/5

great place for a few nights lots to do also lots of eating places. 7.50 all day free overnight after 18.00

  • 2/5

I arrived just after 1pm. There are 4 motorhome spaces, all full. Two were taken by school minibuses. Couldn't find anywhere I could park my 6.3m van without completely blocking the footpath, so moved on. Thanks for trying, Saltburn Council. It's a great idea and a lovely place.

  • 5/5

nice place to park. only about 5 spots for MH. no spaces for me at 6pm on a Thursday, so I had to park across 2 spaces and pay for 2 spaces. quiete place to park.

  • 5/5

Perfect overnight spot. Got there about 4pm, managed to find 1 space left but as soon as it got to 6ish the cars started to leave and freed up lots of spaces. Maybe about 25 campers overnight. Felt very safe and was pretty quiet. Great to have public toilets open 6am-10pm even if they were a bit whiffy (can't complain when a council allows overnight parking with toilets and waste disposal).

  • 5/5

Wonderful stop. Great to see councils offering facilities. Can’t wait to go back

  • 5/5

Excellent stop. water and chemical waste disposal available. easy parking, short walk to the beach. £6.50 for the day. It is so good to see aire-type facilities provided in the UK. Well done Redcar and Cleveland Council!

  • 5/5

Great stopover with chemical and grey waste disposal. Clear parking guidelines, very popular, clean and well looked after.

  • 5/5

Great place to stop. £6.80 for 24 hours. Good flat parking for vans. Lovely walks along the river to the Italian gardens. Highly recommend staying here Toilets / water tap / chemical waste all here too.

  • 4/5

parked up in the car park. stayed the night, no problems with anyone. was quite, windy hilly roads in and out.

  • 5/5

Excellent place. Everything you need. Great walks in the area also .

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

I'm staying here now. no signs saying no to overnight. a few dedicated motorhome bays. close to the beach. a chippy bear by and a pub a few minutes walk away.

  • 5/5

we stayed here a couple of nights ago. the dedicated motorhome pitches (X4) were taken so we just about fit into a normal space if we overhung the back a little but then we moved when a motorhome left later on. Lovely little seaside town for a night. For anyone looking as to whether these "allowed park ups" benefit the area. We spent about £35 in town and about £70 in the pub.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Outstanding parking facility, 4 dedicated bays at the back overlooking the brook although we're MWB and fitted in around the edge. £6.50 for full 24hr Beautiful Saltburn town just up the hill, and the sandy beach across the road. perfect

  • 5/5

lovely and quiet night sleep for parking you need to get there before 9:00 am or after 6 pm very busy in the daytime lovely dog walks at the back of the car park sun sea and sand in front of the car park. I lovely place is Saltburn on sea.

  • 5/5

Lovely car park, we arrived on Friday 19th August 2023 and was quite busy, but did empty out a lot for over night. Made use of the loo block, but not the chemical disposal. Very quiet over night, would revisit for sure. Price for parking was very reasonable too.

  • 5/5

Free water Chemical toilet disposal Free overnight £6.50 from 8am to 18.00 Toilet Cross the road to the beach All you need Dog friendly beach up to the pier. Quiet night spent here. Busy in the day, but it is hot and school holidays.

  • 5/5

Fantastic park for the night, lovely traditional seaside, not commercialised at all. Car park signage doesn’t say anything about overnight parking but we checked with a very nice parking warden and he explained that they welcomed overnight stays in the car park with the purchase of an all day ticket, £6.50 and that gives you 24hr parking. So nice to find a council with a sensible attitude.

  • 5/5

Great to stay the night. if you use two parking bays do pay for both. there are a four popular large bays

  • 5/5

fab stop if you can manage to get a motorhome spot as there is only 4 of these but if your small, there are plenty of normal parking spaces. Really quiet at night, just the sea to listen to, we will definitely come back, although not left yet. Wouldn't recommend fish & chips opposite, but that could be just personal choice. Thank you Saltburn council.

  • 5/5

Great place to stop with water and waste disposal and chemical toilet disposal and toilets. only niggle was the motorhome spaces with a drain for such as us with on board water tanks were filled by people with small campervans. so on leaving we had to pull over the drains behind them. only to be confronted by the parking guy can't stop there! until he realised we were emptying our waste.

  • 5/5

Great place. Plenty of parking for cars/campervans. Car park machine only takes coins. Toilets only open 9am - 4pm

  • 5/5

Perfect place for a stop over, as described by previous comments. Waste disposal and chemical disposal point, £6 for 24 hours and four designated motorhome or mini bus parking spaces. Thank you Redcar and Cleveland council.

  • 5/5

Ideal location, £6 for 24 hours. Chemical disposal point & water tap also each MH parking space has own drain. Yes you can park overnight here as I was talking to the warden. You can stay for free on Marine Drive but I liked to pay for use of facilities

  • 5/5

Great spot ! Salty b on sea you what ! Gone up 30p though cost of van living crisis haha

  • 5/5

four dedicated motorhome / camper bays each with grey water disposal, water, and elsan point all for only £6,00 we had a great night here the tomahawk does a great breakfast just a two minute walk from the car park, lovely clean beach that went for miles when the tides out

  • 4/5

only thing to be aware of is it is a 25% hill gradient with hairpin bends, so a little steep to get to.

  • 5/5

Busy during the day. We arrived and parked in a bay and then waited for cars to leave before parking against the fence. Toilets and water available. Paid £6 which took us to the following morning. We shared an overnight spot with about five other vans. Warden arrived in the morning and was very friendly. Saltburn itself is a good place to stop with local shops and pubs above the car park.

  • 5/5

No longer has works ongoing, huge car park free from 6pm-9am. Toilets open 9-4 not the cleanest but better than a bush!

  • 5/5

Fantastic spot with water, toilets, and cassette emptying and cleaning. Thanks to the council and to P4N for sharing!

  • 5/5

Fantastic spot, specially designed spaces for Motor homes with 4 large spaces for larger motor homes as well as lots of spces for smaller vans. Waste drop off point and toilets. Free parking overnight then £6 for the full day. Very busy during the day but quiet on an evening and first thing. Great place to walk the dog by the stream or a short walk over the road to the beach.

  • 5/5

Guter Platz für eine Übernachtung. Kurze Wege zum Strand . Toilettenentsorgung vorhanden.

  • 5/5

Car park definitely open this weekend. Great spot, right on the beach. Toilets are open until 10pm and there is even a toilet cassette disposal point. Park charges end at 6pm (and carries over until the next day too). Roughly 30 vehicles stayed over so it felt safe (CCTV too). Some large spots for motor homes. However, this car park is super busy during the day until around 6pm

  • 2/5

Car park closed atm, don’t know if they will also be stopping overnight sleeping.

  • 4/5

A very nice place close to the beach for the night. Plenty of places. A small part was closed. Very quiet. Pubs and restaurants around it’s very convenient. Free of charge at night (after 6pm)

  • 5/5

Free parking overnight. Parking charges apply 8am - 6pm, £6 all day. Toilets were still open at 10pm but were closed when we woke up at 7am. Very quiet. Just the odd car going past on the nearby road.

  • 4/5

Closed at the moment for expansion works.

  • 5/5

Lovely spot for parking with a 8mtr plus Motorhome fantastic for walking and being close to the sea, not much in the town centre in way of shopping if that is your thing, I would have stayed a extra night but I needed to be elsewhere for someone’s birthday

  • 5/5

Great car park , friendly parking wardens , daytime parking ticket required. Free over night , handy for Ship inn, sea view restaurant. Lots of walks close by, very clean public toilets on car park , only open in daylight hours.

  • 1/5

It's not free on a Sunday at all. we got a £50 fine. great.

  • 5/5

Toilets open only 9am - 4pm. shut overnight.

  • 5/5

Great car park with plenty of big spaces for bigger campers / motor homes , £6 from 8-6 and then free over night , clean toilets within the car park and plenty of shops / cafes and take always within walking distance

  • 5/5

Staying here at the moment for 2 nights. £6 all day from 08:00 to 18:00. Not sure why an earlier comment mentioned it wasn't suitable for motorhomes because we're fine and there's plenty of room. Paid our £6 this morning via the ring go app. Easy. Great location from the sea, pier, pubs and town. The car park is right at the start of a great woodland walk down a stream. Perfect.

  • 3/5

Loads of good feedback here but it wasn't for us. Left for somewhere nicer down the road. Great that sleeping is tolerated here but when we arrived 20 vans in the car park (in October) some kids messing in cars riding on the bonnet etc but looks like nobody else has experienced this. Chippy over the road closed at 7.45 so walked to the nearby shop open till 10.30 and that was lovely.

  • 5/5

Brilliant spot. no signs saying no overnight parking. £6.00 all day then free at night. toilets outdoor shower next to the toilet block on the prom for showering/post surf/swim quiet at night walking distance to pubs and food.

  • 5/5

An excellent peaceful overnight stop with toilets to use during the day. Coffee shop so close you can smell it & very reasonably priced to. Fish & chips aswell. Pub up the road. A stones throw to the beach to take your dogs. A few other motorhomes were staying to. Excellent nature walk along the river & a miniature railway. Take all your rubbish home folks let's keep it. We would stay again.

  • 5/5

Stayed on the prom for the morning but walked past this carpark, looks a great spot, nice walk through the park, Italian gardens etc beautiful place

  • 5/5

Stayed here for 2 nights - it’s a great spot, arrive after 6 and lots of spaces available. We parked up on the right that opens onto the grass by the stream so we could stake the dog and put chairs out. Beach quiet til about 10am and great walk to the park. Toilet on Carpark open 9 - 8pm and reasonable pub food in offer at nearest pub. We were in a VW - a big MH would be ok overnight but not day

  • 4/5

Great carpark. Free after 6pm then a few from 8am. Right on the sea front and a nice pub just round the corner and loads of chippys near by. Few vans in the carpark as well. Couldn’t get any closer to the beach!

  • 2/5

This is a blue P not a red camper, only suitable for vans in winter, no chance in summer it’s just a packed car park with car size spaces

  • 5/5

No problem staying overnight and free from 6pm to 8am. (£2 for 2 hours and £6 all day but busy in the day)5 campervans overnight in huge car park. Road and car park very quiet after about 10pm

  • 5/5

Awesome spot. Loads of other campers here when we stayed. Toilets too.

  • 5/5

Great views of the sea and the forest Gardens, now £6 for 24 hour stay and the car park attendant told us they are looking at putting a height barrier in soon!! Great park up, clean and tidy, as said before places to eat, walk and drink

  • 4/5

Great place to stay the night, close to the beach and pier. Lots of food outlets around. Really enjoyed my early morning swim in the sea. Car park is very busy during the day.

  • 5/5

What an absolutely lovely park up. Met a few other people staying in vans. A couple of nice pubs to eat and drink in. The Ship at the far end is great to watch the sun go down. You can walk along the Cleveland Way into Skinningrove. Would definitely recommend.

  • 5/5

    Fantastic spot ??

  • 5/5

Great place to stay, be aware that the toilets close at 16:00 now due to Covid-19.....lovely old pub down the road called ‘The Ship’ food looked lovely coming out of the kitchen

  • 5/5

Loverly place to stay over night, Pubs and fish shop nearby, 2 min walk to the pier, I go there every few months . £4-00 from 8am to 6pm then free overnight. Toilets open through the day and rubbish bins

  • 5/5

Price per day will be rising to £6 (under council consideration)

  • 5/5

Stopped here for one night, amazing spot, got there early. The car park was full later in the day. Has toilets and just across from sea.

  • 4/5

Just spent one night here and found it spot on.. Free parking between 6pm and 8am but then it is only £4 for a full day. Felt very safe, great having toilet facilities onsite if like us your in a small camper van with no facilities..will definitely be coming back..

  • 5/5

Quiet, scenic spot. As previously mentioned, parking charges, but worth it. If you decide you don't like this spot, plenty of other choices in surrounding area.

  • 5/5

Great spot in the centre of Saltburn, right by the sea and toilets on site open till 7pm. Chip shops and surf rental right on the front also. It’s £4 for all day but Sunday’s aren’t free as stated. Quiet at night and stayed for 2 days, 1 night. Recommend this spot.

  • 5/5

Stayed here Sat.1st Sept 2018. No charges from 1800 hrs to 0800 hrs. No height restrictions. Toilets open 0800 hrs ish to 2100 hrs. Car park well lit has a security camera covering it. Bars and eateries local within couple hundred metres. Dog friendly area. Saltburn is a clean place. The local people actually help keeping it that way. Will defo be returning.

  • 3/5

Spent the night and left by 08:00 thereby avoiding any charge! Loos are very clean but close at 21:00. (Summer). Nice walks along the promenade and a local pub within 200 meters. Great pier and chip shop on the other direction. The car park is a favourite with surfers and quite a few camper vans overnight. The surfers work with the tide, so they rise early if they need to and be noisy! Very safe and would visit again!

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

A great find. Very full of cars during the day, but lots of spaces after 17:00. Ticked all the boxes for us!

  • 4/5

Actually Sunday free only in the winter months.
