A newly (2024) established aire for motorhomes and campervans with their own services. Located beside the Barrow river down the quayside from the bridge in Goresbridge. Depending on how successful it is, further development of the site will be undertaken. The site was a town park previously, in an old quarry so it is sheltered from prevailing wind. The ground is grass on a sloping site with a few benches available for use. The village has a basic shops, pharmacy, pub, supermarket and takeaway as well as an excellent coffee shop across the bridge. Alongside the coffee shop is access to the Barrow way, a peaceful walk or cycle along the towpath to Borris or even Graiguenamanagh (perhaps take a taxi back). the site now has black waste and water.

what a beautiful place right on the river barrow. The people in the village/bar are so friendly and hospitable.I would highly recommend this Aire.

looks like a nice spot but closed until "spring" 2026

We rang the phone no. shown on the photos but this was unnecessary. There are no pitches, just a mowed grassy area with a one way track around it. Park where you like. Easy short walk into the village. e had a fab evening at Maher's Bar, there was a chap with a guitar until about 7pm. The locals were friendly and welcoming, we even got chips and goujons with our Guiness!!

Beautifully maintained flat grassy secluded park up next to the river . Water and bins provided . Would definatly recomend. We had a lovely quiet night here . I hope it’s a success for the village and they add a loo

tres calme et rivière à proximité

cracking site, they now have a tank for black waste and also a water butt for water. unfortunately the hose was a bit short for the water for our van. A lot of villages in Ireland could learn from this site on how to bring revenue into the pubs and shops in the area.

very quiet village the park up is perfect. no complaints

A quiet, peaceful community run Aire by the river. Cafe 5 mins across the bridge and the village has a shop and pubs. Aire is grassy area in former quarry, picnic benches and tables, refuse and recycle bins but no services. Money in honesty box at the entrance, €10/24hrs. The community plans to add services to this Aire if it’s successful so please support.

If you're looking for nightlife, this is not the place for you. If you're looking for somewhere quiet, it's perfect. Beautiful place beside the river with lovely walks. 5 mins to the village where there are two pubs, Mahers is open all week. I hear there's a famous takeaway but I didn't partake. Beware, you're parking on grass and it's on a slope. Thank you to the town for providing this!

Excellent place for an overnight. 10€ paid by Revolut. Short walk to pub, shoos and take-away. All excellent. Lovely quiet position beside the Barrow river, with walks. Water available from tap, non threaded, up at the bridge.

We had an amazing stay here. Revolut or cash €10 per night. The Aire is slightly sloped. There’s a tap at the river up at the bridge for fresh water. Fabulous river walk. The little town is a few minutes walk from the Aire with a Spar, coffee shop, a chipper and Mahers pub. We had fish and chips from the chipper we would highly recommend it. Be aware that the Aire is on the town side of the river.

Perfect quiet night by the river, walking distance to pub, shop and chipper. Will definitely be back

Lovely peaceful spot on the River Barrow. 10 euro a night. Parking on grass, slightly sloped but manageable. It's new so no facilities yet. Plenty potential here. Walking distance to the village where there's a shop and two pubs. Mahers pub well worth a visit. A warm welcome and creamy Guinness. Great walks/Cycles along the river. Please support as we need more places like this is Ireland.

A very quiet, enclosed, clean spot beside the river and the Barrow Way. I'd welcome more places like this around the country. The cafe in the mill building across the bridge has lovely salads.

stayed last night, lovely communty-owned tree-lined park, on banks of river Barrow, beside the marina, picnic tables. small bin and tap at marina. very quiet at night. John, in Maher’s pub is the caretaker, (083 4748900). good beer garden, pool table and guinness ! fabulous cycle / walk along opposite river bank, coffee/lunch at “goodly barrow” on the bridge. visit Borris also. Recommended.

nice site , slightly sloping site as stated but nothing unreasonable. Attached to the coffee shop across river (lovely old bridge) 5min walk, small interesting (free) museum detailing the history of the Barrow Way river barges. Access to river for coarse fishing, disregard outdated club waters sign at the gate ( non existent).water tap to the left as you pull off road against the bridge (untried)
