Fantastic stop very close to Hadrians Wall. Lovely food and friendly staff. Free for vans and they open the toilets in the morning.
Nous sommes tombés sur Blenkinsopp Castle Inn via un groupe de camping-cars et après avoir vu combien de personnes ont évalué cet endroit, nous avons pensé l'essayer. L'une des meilleures escales de pub que nous ayons jamais faites. Les propriétaires étaient très accueillants, polis et professionnels, la nourriture était absolument folle, si bonne le soir que nous devions aussi aller prendre le petit-déjeuner le matin !!! (tous cuits frais) Harry qui travaillait au bar était extrêmement professionnel, poli et également très accueillant.
La décoration de ce pub est magnifique (toute réalisée par les propriétaires) avec une belle cheminée à foyer ouvert ?
Les locaux sont tous très sympathiques et accueillants dans le pub, l'un des locaux organise des soirées bingo et quiz dans le pub, nous avons en fait participé à la soirée quiz et c'était extrêmement amusant ! C'était comme si nous nous étions fait de très bons amis !

We stumbled upon Blenkinsopp Castle Inn through a campervan group, and after seeing how many people had reviewed it, we decided to give it a try. It was one of the best pub stops we've ever had. The owners were incredibly welcoming, polite, and professional. The food was absolutely amazing—so good in the evening that we had to go back for breakfast in the morning too! (Everything was freshly cooked.) Harry, who worked behind the bar, was extremely professional, polite, and also very welcoming.
The pub's decor is gorgeous (all done by the owners) with a beautiful open fireplace.
The locals are all very friendly and welcoming. One of them organizes bingo and quiz nights; we actually participated in the quiz night, and it was incredibly fun! It felt like we'd made some great friends!

Wir sind durch eine Wohnmobilgruppe auf das Blenkinsopp Castle Inn gestoßen und nachdem wir die vielen positiven Bewertungen gelesen hatten, beschlossen wir, es selbst auszuprobieren. Es war einer der besten Pub-Einkehrer, die wir je hatten. Die Besitzer waren unglaublich herzlich, höflich und professionell. Das Essen war einfach fantastisch – abends so gut, dass wir am nächsten Morgen gleich wieder zum Frühstück hingegangen sind! (Alles war frisch zubereitet.) Harry, der hinter der Bar arbeitete, war äußerst professionell, höflich und ebenfalls sehr zuvorkommend.
Die Einrichtung des Pubs ist wunderschön (alles von den Besitzern selbst gestaltet) und verfügt über einen herrlichen offenen Kamin.
Die Einheimischen sind alle sehr freundlich und gastfreundlich. Einer von ihnen organisiert Bingo- und Quizabende; wir haben sogar am Quizabend teilgenommen und es hat unglaublich viel Spaß gemacht! Wir haben uns sofort gut verstanden und neue Freunde gefunden!

wilmaneric12/08/2025When we arrived a sign was up saying full for campers/motorhomes. We asked and they said they could fit us in. It certainly didn’t seem busy. Only a couple of other vans there, suspect the sign is a fixture! Friendly helpful staff. Quite a lot of things not available from menu but the Butternut Squash Lasagna was very good! Small car park, the whole place feels very cramped.

What a find. Pulled up at 4.30pm and got a great spot in the well maintained and level garden/car park. Free to use. The pub is truly a gem, they were fully booked but squeezed us in early and the food was honestly divine!! We came back in later for the quiz and bingo night and had such a blast with the locals who were so fun and friendly and fussed over our toy poodle no end. A must stop!!

Looking for an overnight stop on our way home and called in here, we had food and it was the best steak I have had for a long time, great food, friendly staff and a very nice place to be, car park could handle maybe 4//5 vans and is fairly level, also there's no charge for staying as long as you eat here

Der Platz ist ok, Bedienung im Inn ist sehr freundlich. Sie haben keine Gebühr erhoben, da wir noch ein Bier dort getrunken haben - Essen sah auch lecker aus, aber wir hatten schon gegessen. Hier gibts aber nur 5 Plätze, heute haben hier 5 gestanden und der Wirt hat das Schild „Full“ aufgestellt

helaas nu £12 per nacht ongeacht of je er dineert. Teveel geld voor eenvoudige parkeerplaats én eten! wij zijn vertrokken. Jammer.

Der Platz ist ideal um eine Nacht zu ruhen. Das Essen im Pub ist gut und es ist sehr gemütlich. Die Bedienung ist sehr nett. Stellfläche leicht schief, aber nichts dramatisches. Guter Ausgangspunkt um umliegende Sehenswürdigkeiten am Hadrianswall zu besichtigen.
GatersOnTour11/01/2025A fantastic welcome from the owners and young lady behind the bar. I did call to ask if it was OK to stay and they said yes ofcourse. We didn't have to go in for food but we did and it was delicious. It was Friday so Steak night DATE night. Had the most delicious food ever Steak was cooked to perfection Can Highly recommend but do call ahead as in Sumner only 5 vans allowed as they get very busy

I can only endorse the comments of others. A super warm welcome by staff and locals, beautiful food. We stayed 2 nights and I would have no hesitation in going there again. A nice level car park and although the A69 is very close we did not find the noise intrusive.

Quirky location on an old country house site mingled in with lots of static caravans. Fabulous pub food. Very high quality and service. Lovely interior. Great welcome and very friendly staff. Very quiet nights sleeps, apart from the gale force winds. But you can’t blame the hosts for that! Would highly recommend this spot.

Fantastisk sted, meget god service og mad. Vi kom for sent til aftensmad, men fik et par pints med i bilen. Morgenmaden var rigelig og virkelig anbefalelsesværdigt. Stille dinner Music og meget rent.

Great lil hidden gem, stoped there 1 night, so quiet. Sadly the pub was closed for 2 days so didn’t get to have food or a drink there gutted as it looked loverly inside. Sweet lil castle nice to look around it, lot of traditional history in it. Will defiantly use there again if passing.

Great stop. Choice of eating in the beautiful pub or having food as 'Take Away'. Very friendly staff, even delivered our Sunday Roast to our van! Highly recommended.
