This carpark is for the Aylestone meadows and many vans stay here overnight there is space for around 15 vehicles so having 3 or 4 campers doesn't detract from parking for dog walkers etc. we were told of this spot by someone who uses it a lot and there was 4 vans the night we stayed. there is a sports club that apparently does a good breakfast , we didn't test them. Our only point to warn is the street lamp is one of the new led killer ones and gave me a headache as parked too close. We would use again if in the area and needed somewhere though.

really nice place but people living in there van full time have made it home and sleep with engines on all night. also there are frequently many campervans here that take up all the spots leaving nothing for locals. just a matter of time until we get height barriers up, parking enforcements and angry locals. Good job selfish campers

Stayed the night last night, got in at 2:30 and two vans and one car here. Lovely and quiet and close to the motorway.

I was skeptical due to some of the comments on here so I was very pleasantly surprised when we arrived to this free parking spot with beautiful walks right from your parking space. This spot broke up our long journey perfectly for the night with the perfect dog walk in the morning down the canal where we even seen some deer. As long as you have your own facilities, your grand. Would use again.

Recomendable.

Peaceful space to come to during winter. Do not come here during summer as it gets busy with people trying make as much noise as possible. They will play loud music and rev up their engines too

a public toilet is at 5 minutes walk. a little further on Aylestone road is a bakery. we biked on biking paths through the 'park' to the city in 15 minutes. the place looks neglected, but it was oké anyway. the evening and night were quiet.

great nights sleep. sorry to the campers already there when I arrived it was 0030. I was as quiet as I could be in a old transit. much better sleep, busy in morning but people seamed respectful, and heard a a dog walker say to some people to talk quieter as some people look like there still sleeping. 100% be back over next week.

Should be a perfect spot but ruined by loud selfish 20 somethings maming an absolute din until 4am.

Lovely place for a stop over, lots of greenery and dog walkers. Some kids /young 20s looking dodgey, but they didn't bother me or I them :) overnight happily, no bother.

It must be hit and miss parking here when I arrived late afternoon I thought place seemed OK How wrong I was First the police arrived around 7pm and busted two lads in the car parked next to me for drugs This went on for over an hour Then 10pm a car parks between me and another van with engine running thumping music Left around 1am Never felt threatened just a lot of action for one night

Super nights sleep and felt very safe. A few other vans were there when I arrived and one later heard no noise throughout the night. Great for dog walking near the canal and woodland area. Can definitely recommend.

October Great spot stayed with 2 other vans locals are friendly there’s plenty of bins and good dog walks. Good Tesco mobile reception , we had breakfast in the football club and I can definitely recommend it. Picked up all the litter before we left

Free car park, no overnight restrictions, space for around 20 vehicles, no toilets, there are bins, woodland to the back with good dog walking, picnic tables, river to the side that is lovely, led lighting and cctv, I stayed on 1st June 2024 overnight, felt safe, quiet, a few other vans staying overnight, sports club next to it which I assume had a bar? but no issues, breakfasts in sports club.

Stayed a Friday night and left by 7.30am. Knocking a point off only for the LED street lights that are very bright, and the dog walkers that arrived from about 6.30am, letting their dogs out of their cars off lead, to run around and bark, before going into the woods (again off lead). As an owner of a nervous dog I find this behaviour, but that is my opinion, others will have differing opinions.

I stayed here a couple of nonconsecutive nights during the week of 11/03 - 17/03. It felt safe and was quiet, tidy too. There were a couple of other vans were here too.

It was quiet today. I parked my 7.5 metre long motorhome comfortably for a few hours. You have to cross a narrow bridge to enter this place. There was plenty of room to manoeuvre the motorhome. It may get busier during summer. Personally I wouldn’t stay there overnight.

Great overnighter. Nice and peaceful, police did a drive around. CCTV and good lighting. St Andrews football club cafe opens at 9, breakfast served till 12 with other food served throughout the day according to timings written on a board. Dogs welcome. Bins available. No height restrictions. Room for at least 4 vans with space for cars.

got here and thought it was ok well lit with CCTV but felt in uncomfortable as cars would pull in then go again and could hear people hanging around talking didn't feel safe so went elsewhere

Been staying here for a while on one night stops only. Nicely lite up and feel safe, do get young drivers pulling into the car park but harmless. please keep this nice and clean. really don't want height barriers or signs saying no overnight parking . Been staying here for a while now

Great place to stay, flat and quiet, some dog walkers in evening and morning, but no problems. car park is very well lit, so avoid parking directly unter the lights. Nice walks in the nearby meadows. only facilities are a bin.
