The Municipal Campsite Les Îles du Silon in Saint-Vallier, in the Drôme region of France, enjoys a prime riverside location along the Rhône, in the heart of the Rhône Valley. Set on flat, grassy grounds, it offers spacious pitches suitable for motorhomes, campervans, caravans and tents, with a good balance of sunny and shaded areas. Electrical hook-ups and water points are easily accessible near the pitches. The campsite offers a pleasant natural setting with views over the Rhône Valley and the Ardèche hills. The ViaRhôna cycling route runs directly alongside the campsite, providing immediate access to one of France’s most beautiful long-distance cycle paths — ideal for cyclists and for leisurely bike rides along the river. Located close to the historic Nationale 7 road and approximately 15 km from a motorway exit, the campsite is an ideal stopover on the main North–South travel route through France. Saint-Vallier town centre can be reached in about 10 minutes on foot. A bread delivery service is available from mid-April to the end of September (order the day before at reception). Cold drinks and ice creams are also available during the season. The staff are known for their friendly and professional welcome; calling ahead is recommended during the summer and busy weekends. Indicative rates for 2026: from €16.50 for two adults with motorhome, electricity included. Maximum €19.70 in high season. Excellent value for a riverside municipal campsite. Situated under the Pic des 3 Dents, at the gates of the Ardèche, on the southern slope, this site offers plenty of space for nature lovers. The very friendly team welcomes you from mid-April to mid-October, in a simple and relaxed atmosphere focused on ecological practices, in a shaded and calming location with 50 shaded pitches (Mobile homes, Contemporary chalets, Geodesic domes for a unique night, Caravans, Tent pitches, Campervans, and Caravans). The campsite features a swimming pool with a shallow area for young children, as well as a restaurant: "La Guinguette," with a view of the Alps and Mont Blanc, where you can enjoy fresh products from local farmers and producers: pizzas (eat-in & takeaway), salads, burgers, butcher's cuts & homemade fries, charcuterie & cheese platters, artisan ice creams, homemade desserts & waffles, breakfasts, and picnic packages. There are also sanitary facilities with hot showers available 24/7 and a shared kitchen equipped for campers with tents and those staying in the domes. Additionally, there is a playground for children and a meadow for horses and donkeys. The campsite also welcomes pilgrims, groups, seminars, and corporate days. Access is easy, and you can choose your own campsite. Electricity, drinking water, toilets, showers, and a washing machine are available upon request. Here, walks, visits, leisure activities, good humor, delicious food, and naps are the order of the day! GluGlu, Noisette, Lili, Rossa, Vachette, and Marty are discreet cats, but they love cuddles. Brooki, Boule, and Bill, with their four paws and two horns, love being petted. Abraham, the head of the henhouse, is quite the chatterbox. And we, Jocelyn, Paul, and Arthur, absolutely love country life!
