Parked up for 4 hours. Luckily the car park wasn’t too busy, so we were able to park in the back corner with our 7.4m van. Lovely walk into the city.

hochun27/09/2025Today (Friday, Sept 26) we got fined £50 for parking over the white bay lines. We took meticulous care to park within the bay lines. Bays, because we are 7.35 meters long with a 2m long trailer, and we took 2 bays. However, we found no information about having to pay for 2 bays like in other cities. Since we have a 3.5 ton class vehicle we should have the right to park here like any other citizen
Pirate_Pete18/09/2024Very large car park, flat, close to city centre. As others say, sign says no overnight parking. Beats me why not - huge site away from any houses. Motorhomers would spend some money in the town in the evening but, hey, I'm sure those Council folk know better......
simmojohn02/09/2023This is Northgate Car Park, it's very large and 5 min walk to the city centre but unfortunately day parking only. Not expensive to park through the day compared to some around the south of England. We nabbed a place under the large trees, drive straight forward from entering and then turn right at the bottom of the car park. That's us in the pic... Why don't council's allow overnight parking???
