Lovely quiet place but can get busy with dog walkers etc. Also The Turf pub is 0.8 mile down the canal and has only parking for 4 cars so people park here and walk. I can thoroughly recommend the pub. The road to the parkibg place is over a mile, single track and quite overgrown but we got in and out ok in our motorhome (Autotrail F62).
We were politely informed by one of the council staff that it is illegal to camp here or any other Exeter council car park. We moved on.
Really nice spot, spacious and quiet! Short driving distance to Exeter but accessing through an amazing swamp landscape very convenient for spotting birds. Understandably frequented by people in cars with and without dogs to access the path flanking the canal. Also people running and cycling, but we were alone at night and found it really cozy!
