(HG4 1LX) Ripon - 21 Saint Marygate

16/8/25. We had a lovely time in Ripon. This spot was perfect for the closeness to town, and we will definitely be back. We stopped in the lower carpark with other vans, which was peaceful and felt safe to stay. Thank you, Ripon council.

Popular and convenient stopover on way north or south. Close to town centre shops including supermarkets. Lovely cathedral just a few minutes walk away. Plenty of pubs etc too. Reasonable 4G signal on EE.

Absolutely rammed full with vans parked with just inches between them. Group of disgruntled locals were gathered on the carpark roadway & grumbling. We definitely were not welcome so moved on. Pity but looks like council will soon step in & stop the parking for vans

stayed here for one night was okay but some nob decided it would be okay to run a generator at 10pm.this sort of thing will get this great park up BANNED.

Managed to find a spot on a Monday lunchtime and stayed overnight. Super convenient for the town centre, Sainsbury's supermarket and the Cathedral. Public toilets in the upper level of this car park. Don't miss the 'Hornblower' at 9pm in the market square. As stated before enter the car park from St Mary's gate. Thanks to Ripon Council for providing this excellent facility

Wir haben hier wunderbar geschlafen! Auf den Ebenen verteilt standen 8 andere Wohnmobile mit uns! Die Stadt ist nett und der Hornbläser am Obelisk um 21:00Uhr hat uns auch Spaß gemacht!

Great stop, good nights sleep and only £2.60 for 24 hours and for a town as thriving as Ripon thats excellent value. Plenty of shops, cafes, pubs and eating places. We visited the museums and cathedral which are all really intresting. Would definatly recommend a visit.

An ideal location right by the town centre. cheap parking £2.60 for 24 hours . We found plenty of spaces we came late Thursday night. The upper car park seemed really busy the lower car park is definitely better to park. It went quiet after 22:00 until a council worker started making so much noise changing the bins at 06:40 definitely made as much noise as he could & slamming his van door.

Nous avons passé la nuit ici. Aucun problème pour notre camping-car de 7 m50. Calme et très bien situé. A côté de la très belle cathédrale.

Search for Cathedral car park not st marygate my sat nav sent me to a small car park next to a post Office Depot, car park was flat quiet and s large Sainsbury’s right next to it go through Sainsbury’s and at front is the town centre market place, lovely walks along canal past race course, public toilets open 6am and were immaculate

stopped for 2 nights over new year. excellent spot. was about 10 vans. nearby public loos were closed. loos next to cathedral were excellent. we spent plenty of money in the town and paid for our parking. would be happy to pay more for toilet disposal. come on local authorities all over UK, touring visitors are good. we recycled our waste. Ripon is also lovely

Super fijne parkeerplaats vlakbij winkels en restaurants en toch heel rustig 's nachts. We verbleven hier 2 nachten. Overdag snel vol, maar 's avonds is er genoeg plek. Take away mogelijkheden in de buurt. Het Bengaalse restaurant is een echte aanrader. De kathedraal ligt naast de parkeerplaats en is een bezoek waard. Zulke plekken zouden er meer moeten zijn. Bedankt Ripon!

Ok carpark £4.20 24hrs. Free WiFi CP but gets full, because very convenient to shops and attractions. Quite noisy one particular campervan had his noisy heating on all night please be aware of noise pollution as well as rubbish

Great stop over no height barriers about 10 vans parked up very quiet and £2.40 for 24hrs

straight overnight stop about 8 vans, all sizes Saw the council man emptying this morning and said if dont use the recycling centre in the corner may lose 24 hours here, would be such a shame, already lost 24 hours in Knaresborough. Please look for it in the corner lower level!

Thank you Ripon for providing somewhere to park for the night at such a reasonable price. Lovely town to visit with so much history. Make sure you go to the town square at 9pm to see the Ripon hornblower. Note price now 2.40 for overnight.

Stayed Friday night. Arrived 5.45pm to find a few spaces. Lots of other vans. Felt safe as a single woman. Was interested to see that on buying a 1 hour ticket to cover up to 6pm the unused 45 mins was added to the next morning so didn't have to dash out and get a ticket at 8am. Will definitely return.

Great spot for £2. Recommended.

we stayed at St Mary Gate long stay carpark Easter Saturday night. lots of vans and mhs. £2 for 24hrs, free parking 6pm to 8am. public loos on carpark. lovely yo hear the cathedral bells ringing on Easter Sunday. Ripon is a beautiful city.

One star for attention. Spoke to a parking attendant and he informed me that overnight parking is merely 'tolerated'. If the number of MHs stopping continues they will crack down on it, so you're seeing more than a few, please move on guys. Saying that, it's a great spot, and Ripon is lovely for a wander.

Excellent stopover, car park fully lit all night. 2 mins walk to all amenities and the cathedral. Will definitely come here again. £2 for 24 hours, perfect.

We arrived around 12pm on Tuesday, car park was a little busy but easily found a spot. Many campers followed. Brilliant car park in the centre of Rippon and at £2 for 24 hours it exceeded our expectations

brilliant stopover arrived late so plenty of spaces walked into town 5min ordered pizazz back to van nice quiet night about 5 over vans here . got busier next morning (Friday) people parking for work .definitely use again. thank you ripon wish more town's would do this x

Decent spot, convenient for the town. Very quiet after about 11pm until 8am (Thursday evening into a Friday morning). £2 to park all day, loads 7 other vans here too. Recycling area In car park which is handy but noisy after 8am. Lots of flat areas of the car park

Sorry to report this as this is my nearest town, but please be careful parking in Ripon at the moment. Several cars vandalized in the " Sainsbury" carpark next to this one, and elsewhere in Ripon, over the last few days. It would be awful to think a visitors camper is next. Ripon is a fantastic town but sadly it's seeing a spate of car damage at the moment.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Lots of other vans so I didn’t feel exposed at all being on my own. Very quiet and perfect for a couple of days exploring. I will definitely be using this again. Only £2 for 24 hours.

Just had two nights there, turned up mid afternoon Friday plenty of space, parked on the upper level as I needed a overhang being 7.4 Mtr long, 5 mins walk into the market place same to the cathedral, Sainsburys in the top carpark along with other shops not suitable for parking motorhomes in,ok for camper vans don’t forget your ticket in the windscreen as it’s visited regularly by traffic wardens.
