Nearly all of the wild camping in the area is just off the one main road - this is set back from the road, in a level gravel car park, with lovely view of the loch and at start of a circular footpath. You could certainly do a lot worse. There is the cattle grid, but it’s not that bad and in my opinion, better than being right alongside the road. Space for many of all sizes.
BerthaDriver08/05/2025Nice, functional stop off overlooking Loch Seaforth. £5 donation (but worth 10!) level area at back, though lip to access. Great 3km walk in new woodland reserve.

Very nice, very level area at the back of the carpark, but noise from the cattle grid on the main road put me off. I guess it very much depends on wind direction and there isn't a lot of traffic, so not terrible.
MollyMotorhome13/02/2025Nice flat gravel area. Text to donate £5 to North Harris Trust. Described as Ardvoulie Woodland car park by Trust but no woodland to be seen except a few trees in front of us. Also car park isn’t exactly as shown on the Outer Hebrides parking and facilities map. Look out for sign as per photo.

Level gravel area at back of car park, looks newly laid. The circular walk is tough, but worth it. Cattle grid nearby, but little traffic as night draws in. Ideal little stop over. Cash honesty box.
pilfra6029/07/2023Parking bien plat au départ d’une belle randonnée .donation de 5£ suggérée.je n’ai pas dormi là car une grille pour le bétail juste devant donc bruyant à chaque véhicule qui passe.
TheWildJourneys16/07/2023It's great as a stopover, really nice woodland walk nearby, and the views are beautiful. It's likely because it was the weekend, but we found the road noise over the cattle grate to be a bit abrasive in the evening. But apart from that - for a 5er donation, you can't go wrong!

Great spot overlooking the loch. We went on the walk to the observatory. Didn’t see the eagles but great views. Level parking back off the road for a £5 donation.
