There is a height restriction of 2m and gated closure times of 7pm and 4pm (summer, winter) making this officially a day-stop. However, the gate may be left open, or closed on campers (with a £100 fine for early open). The wood and lakes are popular with dog walkers (and fishermen) all day (and night). And, this appears to be noticed interest from this Council managed parking and nature site.
Slightly wonky so hard to get level but also there are signs that say the parking closes at 7pm. I arrived at 9pm to it still open. Later saw a piece of paper saying “No overnight parking”
Hardstanding, but no way to find a better level than 2° both ways at any point. Mind the 2m gate, it's unforgiving. Young people stayed until midnight drinking beers nearby but we didn't hear them except when getting out. At least 5 lifting off planes from East Midlands Airport went by overnight which was loud enough to wake us each time. avoid if not in a soundproof vehicule
