just arrived early afternoon and there is a large sign that states no overnight parking so not sure what to do as others have stayed here recently
Parking de Sharpham Road. Parking en gravier gratuit et plat près du club de tennis, des terrains de jeux, du centre communautaire et du réservoir de Cheddar. Pas de barrières ou de portails. Très proche du parking officiel de Cheddar Reservoir (qui interdit désormais expressément le stationnement de nuit). Conduisez comme si vous vous dirigiez vers le parking du réservoir, mais continuez à droite après les grilles de fer, puis à gauche vers le centre communautaire, puis à droite dans le parking.
Sharpham Road Car Park. Free, level gravel car park near tennis club, playing fields, community centre and Cheddar reservoir. No barriers or gates. Very close to Cheddar Reservoir official car park, (that now expressly forbids overnight parking). Drive as if to reservoir parking, but continue right past the iron gates, then left towards community centre, then right into car park.
Parkplatz Sharpham Road. Kostenloser, ebener Schotterparkplatz in der Nähe des Tennisclubs, der Spielfelder, des Gemeindezentrums und des Cheddar-Reservoirs. Keine Schranken oder Tore. Ganz in der Nähe des offiziellen Parkplatzes des Cheddar Reservoirs (der das Parken über Nacht jetzt ausdrücklich verbietet). Fahren Sie wie zum Stauseeparkplatz, aber fahren Sie rechts an den Eisentoren vorbei, dann links in Richtung Gemeindezentrum, dann rechts in den Parkplatz.

ajr196619/01/202519/1/25 Great place to stay. About a 10/15 minute walk into the main town. Loads of pubs,cafes etc. A bit of noise from locals screeching their tyres in the distance,but generally quiet. I was the only one there.
kat_s03/11/2024Great quiet parking for visiting Cheddar. A bit of a walk to the centre but at least you have a spot guaranteed while the centre parking is full and it's difficult to manoeuvre in narrow streets. Suitable for our 8m MH.

One of the quietest nights I’ve ever spent in a car park. Totally quiet after 9pm. There was litter around - a few wrappers from beer, red bull etc. so I was half expecting some rowdy youngsters to appear at dusk, but no-one came to the car park all evening or during the night. This was on a Sunday, so I can’t vouch for a Friday or Saturday night, or if there’s a function at the community centre.
