Great pit stop. Arrived late, left early after a walk around the reservoir. Would recommend. Some other campers there, felt safe

A large picnic area at the side of a reservoir. No facilities. A few miles from Whitby. Fairly quiet parking, always spaces.
Ein großer Picknickbereich am Ufer eines Stausees. Keine Einrichtungen. Ein paar Meilen von Whitby entfernt. Ziemlich ruhiger Parkplatz, immer freie Plätze.
Una gran zona de picnic al lado de un embalse. Sin instalaciones. A unos pocos kilómetros de Whitby. Aparcamiento bastante tranquilo, siempre hay plazas.

DaveFUK29/12/2025Great off grid location. Lots of flat areas. Was quiet when we went, 1 other camper overnight so. loads of room. Its off quiet a busy road. Traffic noise not too much odd and issue unless you're a very light sleeper. Nice easy walk around the reservoir.

Great little stop over in the motor home, arrived during dark and there were several other campers/motorhomes here. On site bins, parking machine out of order but as it says in the other comments, easy enough to pay online

Great little stop over. The ticket machine is broken and the gate stays open all night. Plenty of green space for dogs. I got a nice quiet rest here.

TildasDad13/08/2024Etwas Straßenlärm aber durch Hecke ganz gut abgeschirmt. Wir konnten gut schlafen. Ebene Fläche mit viel Platz. Stausee zum spazieren/erkunden. Wir haben uns sicher gefühlt

Stayed here recently, the pay meter was out of order. Nice quiet car park area next to the reservoir fairly close to the road but we didn’t hear any road noise. Had a pleasant night no problems. Free park up

Picknick Parkplatz, gehört zu einem Nationalpark. Über Nacht kostet eigentlich 10 PFUND - Automat aber außer Betrieb. Platz sehr groß, menschenleer, dazu fast eben. Asphalt, mit Ausblick auf Natur und einen nahen Stausee. Die Landstraße ist relativ nah - etwas Straßenlärm - daher ein Punkt Abzug - ansonsten einwandfrei. Mülleimer vorhanden, sonst keine Versorgungseinrichtungen.

Nice little picnic spot park up next to the reservoir. Nice walk around the reservoir for dogs. Bin provided but needed emptying so didn't use it. Sign says £10 to park over night but the machine is not working and did not explain how to pay online. There is a gate but it was not locked at night. A little road noise but we parked at the back so sleeped well.
noname5322/07/2023Le parcmètre était éteint et il est mentionné sur la barrière qu’elle est fermée à 18h, étant arrivé à 20h nous y avons passé la nuit sans problème, mais avec la route en bruit de fond qui n’est pas suffisamment éloignée pour être inaudible. Parking plat donc de niveau sans problème avec une poubelle.

Stayed here on a Wednesday night, sign says £10 for overnight stay but metre isn’t turned off and gate was open. A good place to stay but there is some road noise.
