Perfect overnight stop, this is a free carkpark right in the town centre, and about a minutes walk from the sea front. Stayed on a Saturday night as a solo female camper, and felt perfectly safe. Thought it might get a but noisy at night, but didn't hear a thing. Public toilets are available on the seafront, but they were closed at 9pm. Bins available - please leave no trace!!!
If you’re in a large vehicle be careful how you park. I just got ticketed because I’m parked over two bays (even though I’m as far out of the way as I could be) Warden said that only my wheels need to be in the bay so I could have parked in one bay with my back overhanging- that would have been ok. Lesson learnt
Very quiet night. 5 other vans here and plenty of space. Close to beach, cafes and shops. 8am-6pm limited to two hours and it's very busy during the day with dog walkers and people using the park. I'd recommend parking in the very large car park by the links and beach on Bournmouth Road. It's only £3 for the full day
easy to find. overnight parking is free and weekends nights free too. was quite and close to beach.
Stayed Friday night in our VW camper. Nice and quiet, didn’t get disturbed. Public toilets nearby on sea front
Not bad but a a bit tight in a 7.5m motorhome due to there being no overhang.
Great place to access town when parking outside of charged times, and free but limited time parking during daytime
2 hour max stay during hours 0800-1800 mon to Friday. no restrictions to stay overnight
central great place to stay..plenty of space.. although Whitley bay is not the great place it once was due to local council taking away the tourist industry in one fell sweep, its still a place to visit.
