High Gaitle est un camping rural et paisible situé à la frontière entre l'Angleterre et l'Écosse.
La famille Fairclough est propriétaire et gérante du parc, et possède également un parc jumeau spécialisé dans les caravanes statiques dans le Northumberland, propriété de la famille depuis plus de 35 ans.
High Gaitle se trouve à 1,6 km du village de Longtown et à seulement 5 km de Gretna Green. C'est donc le dernier camping d'Angleterre avant de traverser la frontière !
Il offre suffisamment d'espace pour 30 tentes/caravanes/camping-cars, dont 16 avec branchement électrique. Cinq emplacements sont dotés d'emplacements en dur, tandis que les autres sont des emplacements herbeux.
Nous disposons de toilettes, de douches, d'une salle de bain accessible aux personnes à mobilité réduite, ainsi que d'une buanderie pour la vaisselle, etc.
Notre gérant, Steven Fairclough, vit sur place, offrant ainsi à nos clients tranquillité d'esprit et convivialité.
Le parc de 2,4 hectares est plat et bordé de nombreux arbres, dont quelques arbres matures disséminés au cœur du parc. L'Arbre aux singes est particulièrement spectaculaire.
Nous accueillons les familles et, pour les animaux de compagnie, nous disposons de suffisamment d'espace pour nous promener, sur place et à proximité. Notre portail d'entrée sécurisé est verrouillé de 23h à 7h. Pour y accéder pendant ces heures, veuillez contacter notre responsable sur place.
Des sections du mur d'Hadrien occidental sont à proximité pour ceux qui souhaitent parcourir l'intégralité du parcours, tandis que les amateurs de shopping n'auront qu'à se rendre à Gretna Gateway ou au centre-ville de Carlisle.
Un peu plus loin, à environ 40 minutes de route, se trouve Keswick, au cœur du parc national du Lake District, offrant à nos clients des vues imprenables sur les montagnes et des randonnées.
Le Northumberland est à seulement 30 minutes et Glasgow à 90 minutes, ce qui permet à nos clients de découvrir toutes les directions !
High Gaitle is a quiet rural caravan and camping site on the border of
England and Scotland.
The Fairclough family own and run the park and also have a sister park
specialising in static caravans in Northumberland that has been in the
family for over 35 years.
High Gaitle sits one mile outside the village of Longtown, and is also
only 3 miles from Gretna Green. This makes it England's last campsite
before crossing the border!
There is ample space for 30 tent/tourers/motorhomes, 16 of which have
access to an electric hook up. 5 hook ups have hard standing areas
whilst the rest are grass pitches.
We have toilet and shower facilities, and a disabled access bathroom as
well as a utility room for washing up etc!
Our manager, Steven Fairclough lives on site giving guests peace of mind
and a friendly face.
The 6 acre park is flat with an array of trees at its perimeter and a
few mature trees dotted around in the heart of the park. The monkey
puzzle tree is particularly spectacular.
We welcome families and for those with pets there is more than enough
space to take a walk both onsite and nearby. Our entrance security gate
is locked between the hours of 11pm and 7am. Access during these times
can be attained by calling our onsite manager
Sections of the western Hadrians wall are close by for those looking to
complete the whole route whilst those looking to shop need look no
further than Gretna Gateway or Carlisle town centre.
A little further afield at around 40 mins driving is Keswick which lies
in the heart of the Lake District National Park, allowing guests to
experience unrivalled mountain views and hikes.
Northumberland is only 30 minutes away and with Glasgow being 90
minutes, guests visiting us have the opportunity to explore in every
direction!

Es gibt ausreichend Platz für 30 Zelte/Wohnmobile, 16 davon mit Stromanschluss. 5 Stellplätze sind befestigt, die übrigen sind Rasenplätze. Toiletten und Duschen sowie ein behindertengerechtes Badezimmer sind vorhanden, ebenso wie ein Hauswirtschaftsraum zum Abwaschen. Unser Manager, Steven Fairclough, wohnt auf dem Gelände und sorgt für ein angenehmes und freundliches Ambiente.
Der 2,4 Hektar große Park ist flach und von zahlreichen Bäumen gesäumt. Im Herzen des Parks finden sich einige alte Bäume. Besonders beeindruckend ist der Araukarienbaum.
Wir heißen Familien willkommen, und für Gäste mit Haustieren gibt es sowohl auf dem Gelände als auch in der Nähe ausreichend Platz für Spaziergänge. Unser Sicherheitstor ist zwischen 23:00 und 7:00 Uhr verschlossen. Zutritt während dieser Zeiten erhalten Sie telefonisch bei unserem Parkmanager.
Teilstücke des westlichen Hadrianswalls liegen ganz in der Nähe, falls Sie die gesamte Strecke zurücklegen möchten. Wer einkaufen möchte, muss nicht weiter als bis Gretna Gateway oder ins Stadtzentrum von Carlisle fahren.
Etwas weiter entfernt, etwa 40 Autominuten, liegt Keswick im Herzen des Lake District Nationalparks. Hier können Gäste unvergleichliche Bergblicke und Wanderungen genießen.
Northumberland ist nur 30 Minuten entfernt, und Glasgow ist nur 90 Minuten entfernt. So haben Gäste die Möglichkeit, die Gegend in alle Richtungen zu erkunden!

High Gaitle is een rustige, landelijke camping met stacaravans op de grens van

De familie Fairclough is eigenaar en beheerder van het park en heeft ook een zusterpark, gespecialiseerd in stacaravans in Northumberland, dat al meer dan 35 jaar in de familie is.
High Gaitle ligt anderhalve kilometer buiten het dorp Longtown en is ook
slechts 5 kilometer van Gretna Green. Dit maakt het de laatste camping van Engeland
voordat we de grens overgaan!
Er is voldoende ruimte voor 30 tenten/toeristen/campers, waarvan er 16
toegang hebben tot een elektriciteitsaansluiting. 5 aansluitingen hebben een verharde standplaats,
terwijl de rest grasplaatsen zijn.
We hebben toilet- en douchefaciliteiten, een mindervalidentoilet en een wasruimte voor de afwas, enz.!
Onze manager, Steven Fairclough, woont op het terrein en zorgt ervoor dat gasten zich
gemoedsrust en een vriendelijke uitstraling hebben.
Het 2,4 hectare grote park is vlak met een scala aan bomen aan de rand en een paar volwassen bomen verspreid in het hart van het park. De apenboom is bijzonder spectaculair.
Gezinnen zijn van harte welkom en voor mensen met huisdieren is er meer dan voldoende ruimte om te wandelen, zowel op het terrein als in de buurt. Onze beveiligde ingangspoort is gesloten tussen 23.00 en 07.00 uur. Toegang gedurende deze tijden is mogelijk door contact op te nemen met onze manager ter plaatse.
Delen van de westelijke Muur van Hadrianus liggen vlakbij voor wie de hele route wil afleggen, terwijl wie wil winkelen niet verder hoeft te zoeken dan Gretna Gateway of het centrum van Carlisle.
Iets verder weg, op ongeveer 40 minuten rijden, ligt Keswick, in het hart van het Lake District National Park, waar gasten kunnen genieten van ongeëvenaarde uitzichten op de bergen en wandeltochten kunnen maken. Northumberland ligt op slechts 30 minuten afstand en Glasgow op 90 minuten, dus gasten die ons bezoeken, hebben de mogelijkheid om alle kanten op te gaan!

Mainly grass, so can get a little waterlogged. Good for one night when on travels. Directly on the main road, so noise is almost constant. Facilities; toilets/showers a little dated, but do the job. Nice touches with the toothbrush/paste kit if you have forgotten, magazine/library too in the wash room, along with kettle and local info. Owner/manager is friendly and helpful.

Ganz toller Einstieg für Schottland. Sehr familär, kinder-&hundefreundlich. Wir kamen an und stellten uns auf einen Pitch. Später kamen die Besitzer mit Süssigkeiten und jede Menge Tipps und viel Zeit zum Plauschen. 20£ für 2 Erwachsene, 1 Kind, 1 Hund inklusive Strom. Die sanitären Anlagen sind alt, aber sehr gepflegt&sauber und mit Sträusschen und Muscheln halt einfach süss!
Nous sommes arrivé en fin de soirée et avons été très bien accueilli (nous avions réservé le jour avant notre arrivée). Le camping est très simple mais extrêmement propre. Nous avons payé moins de 30£ la nuit avec notre pickup cellule 2 adultes et deux enfants avec l’électricité.

Der Besitzer ist wirklich sehr nett und hat uns direkt empfangen, obwohl wir ohne Reservierung und nach 20.00 Uhr anreisten. Die Sanitäranlagen sind wirklich sauber! Einen kleinen Minuspunkt ist der Preis 25 £ ohne Stromanschluß, die in bar zu bezahlen sind. Der Eigentümer hat uns aber gleich noch den Tipp für Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Geldautomaten genannt. alles in allem wirklich Topp.
Perfect place for a one night stop over, the owner was friendly and welcoming. All the facilities you could need, clean sanitary block, hot showers. £28 for one night (two people in campervan with electricity) a little steep for off season but no other complaints.
Lovely, lovely owner let us in when we rang quite late at night (9.30) needing somewhere quite urgently. (Owners are older, so no website or info online, so make sure to use phone number). Gate locked at 11pm but open 24hrs. Full services, and very clean. Shower block basic, but again, impeccably clean. Highly recommend! £28/night for motorhome.
Es ist ein kleiner überschaubarer Platz für 5 Van s oder auch kleinere Womos. Toiletten, duschen und Abwaschplatz mit Mülleimer vorhanden.Der Platz ist von einer sehr gepflegten Grünflache umgeben. Ja die Straße ist etwas hörbar,aber es stört einen nicht wirklich. Wir waren um 17:00 Uhr die ersten am Platz. Es ist aber auch keine Ferienzeit in England und Schottland mehr.
Tut, was er soll und wie beschrieben. Nette Betreiberin, und wir hatten den ganzen Platz für uns allein. Die Straße war recht stark frequentiert und das Flutlicht an der Toilette hat etwas gestört, aber sonst alles sauber und nett. Guten Gewissens empfehlenswert, vor allem als Start oder Ende des Urlaubs.
