Lovely quiet night. Good phone reception. Nearby benches to use. Plenty of dog walkers in the morning who seem friendly enough. Would definitely use again. Only downside - can’t see any bins.
We stopped here for a little while and had no hassle, it was very peaceful and quiet at night time, my boys slept until 8:30! it can get busy during the day with dog walkers but if you are up it shouldn't be a problem. There some long hiking routes but also a short looped route.

lovely place. nice walk along the river path (mind the sewer plant small half way along) kids park at the end. Lovely ice-cream shop at the end. Pub and local shops too. Spent a quiet night here. no other vans(surprisingly). Please don't ruin it with litter and BBQs.
Parkfläche an Malton Picnic Area. Sitzgelegenheiten, Mülleimer, Wander- und Radfahrmöglichkeiten. Untergrund Teer, eben, schattig.
Stayed here two nights before and after visiting Beamish. As a woman alone I would not recommend staying here as there were random men in cars eying me up. Thankfully I was with my male partner so I felt safe. Made the place a little creepy for us both though. Very quiet and dark at night if that’s what you’re looking for.
A delightful spot with picnic tables and bin. Near a river and the Lanchester path for walking and cycling. Very quiet night. Dog walkers in the morning.
Stayed here last night...arrived at 9.30pm...very peaceful...no amenities but very nice indeed...would recommend
Very nice spot. Quiet, level. Very shaded so not good for solar.
Looks like a lovely spot however we have just arrived to park up and it’s completely full of travellers. So led to find somewhere else. Will try again in a couple of months.
stopped here for 1 night was peaceful enough good walks for dogs only down side was there is alot of tree cover so not that good if you are running solar. locals were all friendly too and lanchester town within walking distance.
Arrived early evening, a few other vans already there along with cars/dog walkers. Very quiet night, dog walkers started arriving about 7am but not noisy. Very friendly locals. Woke up to peace and quiet apart from the birds.
Great views friendly locals. Nice hard standing area with plenty of space. Only downside was cars were coming and going till around half 12.
quiet night well recommend great walks along river
Peaceful, nice parking place by the river. Nice walks around. Busy during the day with dog walkers. A few tables and a bin. No facilities. Weak internet on 3. Otherwise a beautiful spot. P. S. 10:30pm and still cars coming and leaving. Maybe not the best sleep spot if you would like to be on your own and quiet. But after 11:30pm I was on my own and it was a quite night.
I echo all the other comments posted here. Quite peaceful, morning birdsong, trees, picnic tables, far enough from the road to avoid traffic noise, . No facilities but don't expect any when we choose to go off grid/wild. Cyclists and dog walkers frequent the car park first thing in the morning but we expected that. 3 other vans there when we arrived late at night, so we felt in good company.
What a lovely spot. Extremely quiet overnight and felt very safe. Away from the road so hardly any traffic noise. Cycle path and walks all around and a stream close by for the warmer months! Phone signal and TV reception good. Everyone I spoke to was really friendly. Lots of space but please leave the spot on the left as you come in free as a coffee vendor sets up here.
I live local to this, so haven’t stayed but know it well. It’s a regular walk for us down to Malton. If you stay here, consider a walk up the lines to Lanchester where there’s plenty of pubs, restaurants, and take aways.
Really quite, lovely walks the local are happy to have vans stay over perfect for a trip to beamish
An awesome spot y'all. Highly recommend. Bins, full signals, minimal road noise (despite closness), lots of tree shelter, beautiful surroundings incl: picnic areas & walks. Very friendly locals, had a great chat with the volunteer park caretakers. Lots of dog walkers cyclists etc but no bother at all. Free & no prohibitions except for tent camping. Well worth the stop over.
