No problems on a very wet winter evening. No one else around. Quiet.

Bruillant, il y a beaucoup de trains et l'avions.

A beautiful stop over, quiet spot by the loch, friendly locals. only us here last night, lots of space. bins bit no other services. did a small litter pick this morning, let's try to leave places as we found them, if not better.

Parked up on Monday 14th July, very quiet, we were the only van there. Great view overlooking the loch. Friendly dog walkers. Would recommend.

  • 5/5

stayed nearest the loch, great for walking the dog and only noise was from the rugby early evening. bins available so please use them. ok signal would deffo return. estching waterskiing on a night too

My first time and I stayed here for 1 night. It was a week night, so quiet only 2 cars pulling up and left. l found a few bits of rubbish about which I picked up & put in the bin. There were signs about algae in the loch - been plenty of rain recently so no obvious signs - dogs went in for a swim. We had the whole place to ourselves. Weather was pretty wet and windy but overall I loved it!

I’m not sure why this stopover is rated highly. We found the area to be absolutely filthy, somewhat in keeping with the surroundings. The loch is contaminated so I couldn’t even let the dog out of the van. It also overlooks a massive industrial site. The look on my wife’s face said it all. We moved on and drove down to Troon instead. Might be ok if you are absolutely desperate.

This is one to avoid on a Friday night. I pulled up at 10pm this Friday, 30 minutes later, the area started to fill up with several men with their "pimped out poverty wagons" doing doughnuts next to my van. More guys in cars showed up, blasting dubstep music and constantly beeping their horns. I waited an hour but decided my sanity was worth moving on. Left to sleep in the national park instead.

  • 3/5

Looked like a lovely spot but there was a scrambler bike setting up when we arrived at 5pm and obvious signs of tyre tracks through the surrounding area so we decided not to stay.

  • 4/5

To answer a recent comment, yes, you can park beyond the gate. I am a local and visit frequently (at least twice a week), I have never yet seen the gate closed after 4 years here so I would say it is very, very safe to park beyond the gate. Please continue to take your rubbish with you, and hopefully we wont see a height barrier installed here, which has been in discussion with the council.

This was fine but had to maneuver a bit to get a level and avoid pot holes but it doesn't help that it was dark when we arrived. There were a couple of cars had been in and out but nothing disturbing. The walk around the lock in the morning was lovely and just saw a couple of other dog walkers

Intended to sleep overnight but lots of scrambler bikes and didn’t feel comfortable with where to park. Do we park behind gate or on other side? Would be great to hear more about this place but unfortunately had to leave and find elsewhere due to uncertainty

  • 5/5

Super spot. Avec même un emplacement avec qq briques au sol pt être droit! des grands espaces pr faire demi tours. très calme. Le bruit du train en fond mais pas gênant.

  • 5/5

Community Centre is now completed and there is a proper parking space. No issues and quiet.

  • 5/5

Lovely quiet overnight. Just an early morning train passing. Google Maps name is Lochshore Park

  • 2/5

lovely big area to park, but unfortunately we were disturbed by a LOT of loud cars all night. all the way til 3am with loud music blasting! I can sleep through it, but at one point it did feel dangerous when they were trying to do donuts right beside us. So be aware of this if you come here. one nice point to end on, there's bins lol

chuffed to bits. quiet as anything. we had just come back from Arran and needed a spot. Great. thank you. wouldn't do a fire. just woke up, and soooo pleased with the view. so peaceful.

  • 5/5

Great quiet little spot with views of the loch.

  • 5/5

Nice place for a stop over beside the loch. fishing permitted with a licence bought at the local cycle shop for £7.50 pp. Train track near by but didn't stop us sleeping. Plenty of bins! Loch used for water sports, rugby pitches and a cafe open during the day. Dog walkers passing but all said a friendly hello. Few cars later at night but all respectful and passed our van quietly.

  • 4/5

Lovely big spot, lots going on with walkers, rugby, fishing, water-skiing but wasn't a problem or a disturbance. Few late night temporary car parkers, again not a problem. 4 stars due to the flight path and train tracks which didn't stop us sleeping but was a little difficult for our 2.5 year old! Beautiful Loch and walks around, bins availalable, plenty of space, lovely.

  • 2/5

Sports pitch is a bit noisy. Also seem to be close to a train track and under a flight path. A lot of car revving happening 7pm onwards, talking and beeping. Plenty of dog walkers. Not really my type of place and I wouldn't stop here again.

  • 4/5

Quiet parkup with bins, strong 4G signal and plenty of space to walk the dogs. There are only a few spots that would be level, and the water has a sign saying that its got potentially hazardous bacteria levels so not the best spot if you're hoping for a swim! We were just stopping over on our way up North so it fit our needs perfectly.

  • 5/5

nice quite spot, after 6pm no other cars drove by. partly flat, other side sloped. satellite receiving oke. 4G network with Vodafone uk

  • 5/5

Really nice spot. Lots of people fishing but none were bothered that we set up camp. A few cars drove in to the car park late through the night but didn’t stay. Would highly recommend.

  • 5/5

Lovely peaceful parking lot direct views of the loch. Beautiful to watch the sun rise

  • 3/5

Nice flat grassy car park directly facing kilbirnie loch, Could fit 10 campers easily. common place for fisherman. Lots of dog walkers on the fields next to the rugby club through the day and at night you get the odd people driving up and on this occasion there was autocaravans in the wooded area infront of rugby club using chainsaws at 1:30am. Not ideal but still got a decent enough sleep.

  • 3/5

Spot sympa directement sur le Loch beaucoup d'espaces plat mais pas très bien fréquenté le soir, beaucoup de jeunes dans des voitures jusque tard le soir.

  • 5/5

Fantastic car park directly at the loch. Astonishingly quiet even though between to towns. Mostly flat. Great for rooftents. Next is a fishing club. In the morning came some fishermen.

  • 4/5

Bien pour une étape. Attention à ne pas vous garer sur la pelouse vous risquez de devoir bouger à 8h quand la tondeuse entre en action !

  • 5/5

Ein ruhiges Plätzchen mit schöner Aussicht. Wir haben hier eine Nacht verbracht!

  • 5/5

This is a lovely quiet spot right on the loch side, the nearby railway line is the only disturbance.
