I love it here. Stayed here a few times in our camper. very quite friendly place. highly recommend

  • 5/5

First micro car camping trip here for 2 nights. Brilliant experience. £2 daytime parking, £5 overnight. Run by lovely lady so nice & helpful. V quiet at night, visited by passing ponies & sheep. Lovely little stream running through. Clean public toilets 1 min away open 24 hrs. 2 great pubs to enjoy. Amazing walks/views all around. Don’t complain to locals about lack of wi-fi; just enjoy the Moor.

  • 5/5

Super Übernachtungsmöglichkeit mitten im Dartmoor!Vielen Dank für diesen tollen Parkplatz!

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Lovely little quiet spot for the night. Babbling brook to one side. Toilets in the car park, few mins walk away.

  • 4/5

used to be 5⭐ but now instead of a park up people are using this as a campsite, setting up outside, lighting fires, music etc. leaving stuff outside overnight. not cool people, the sheep and ponies you so called come to see are at risk of injury with this sort of thing. Also try paying for being there.

  • 5/5

Lovely green car park with brook running alongside. Car park is very central and next to a gorgeous cafe and 2 min from 24hr public loos. Highly recommend! Dartmoor Ponies even came to visit in the evening :)

  • 5/5

stayed over 1 nite payed £2 pounds as arrived jurying the day and £5 as stayed the nite very peaceful toilets about 350 yards away from the camp car park open 24 hours fresh water tap attached to the back of the kiosk plenty of room for campervans and motorhomes be prepared to be woke up around 0445 by the sheep that walk through the car park and the horses but lovely quiet nice sleep pub shops

  • 5/5

Stunning parkup by a running stream. Only problem was absolutely zero signal on the 3 networks we had.

  • 5/5

Great value, lovely place, quiet, and not too full with 6 or 7 campers in all the night I stayed. Woke up to ponies grazing a few feet away. Microcampers will find the toilets useful :-)

  • 5/5

Great value parking spot in a pretty village. very quiet night

  • 5/5

We loved this park up, really nice little car park in a cute village, toilets a short walk away and we had a visit from some ponies too! For only a fiver it's a bargain option for stopping overnight in Dartmoor!

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Really lovely little spot- £5 overnight honesty box. Little stream, hot and cold snack kiosk and picnic benches. The pub also allows parking overnight if buying a drink or food - we went for a pint and they told us that.

  • 5/5

We zijn hier twee nachten geweest. Zeer rustige locatie.

  • 5/5

Excellent parkup, only a fiver a night cannot beat it. Slim pickings in the moors, so one next to a good pub was a winner. Woke up to the van being surrounded by sheep too, sometimes horses make their way into the carpark. Please be honest and use the honesty box if the kiosk is closed.

  • 5/5

we had a peaceful night on 29-7-24, there were 4 other campervans/motorhomes here in the morning. woke up to horses around the van. be aware there is no signal at all on ee or o2.

  • 5/5

Fantastic, just wonderful! So quiet at night, ponies ran through in the morning. Lady in kiosk is lovely and a great price. 4 other vans when I was there but not at all as busy as you'd think. Great jacket potato and local pint in the rugglestone pub a 5 minute walk down the hill.

  • 5/5

I stayed here on 31/12/2023. The local pub which sells awesome pizzas closed at 3pm so I stayed in my van and listened to Taylor Swift. It rained heavily all day and night. I paid for my parking the next day. There was someone in there on 1/1/2024 which was BIZARRE. No phone reception. I hovered outside the pub the next morning to use their WiFi to text my mum hny :))

  • 5/5

Stayed here last night, wonderful location. Public toilets open 24/7, local cafe and pub to enjoy. Great spot, especially if it’s your first time doing so. Highly recommend. The lady at the gift shop was very friendly and helpful about things to do in the area. Just us and one other camper, very peaceful and quiet. Tip would be, if you absolutely require WiFi then park close to the cafe.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Nice flat park-up in the centre of the village - everything (pubs & toilets) is within an easy stroll. £5 per night.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

entspanntes Parken und Übernachten. Die Kioskdame ist super nett und hilfsbereit. Kosten sehr überschaubar. Im benachbarten Pub (The Old In) sehr leckeres Essen. Schöne Wanderungen vom Platz. Eine Empfehlung im Dartmoor.

  • 5/5

Nice spot to park for the day/night. The charge is 7 gbp for day and night parking. Some nice hikes right from the parking area

  • 5/5

Beautiful spot in a picturesque village where everyone made us feel welcome.,Good food at the pub and the cafe.

  • 5/5

Gem of a stop, £5 in the honesty box, very quiet little village with a cafe & pub. Public toilets 1 min walk! Nice walk onto the moor from here, spotted cows and horses walking past in the evening’s . Wish there were more places like this around - side note … no phone signal at-all ( not that it bothered us)

  • 5/5

This car park is a gem of a find in the middle of Dartmoor. When the kiosk( super friendly staff) is open, it is £2 parking for the day and £5 overnight with an honesty letterbox for payment out of hours. Talking to the ladies in the kiosk, it is a private car parking area. Please pay for this parking when arriving out of hours. They said it could easily be lost which would be a great shame.

  • 5/5

Lovely little spot with a nice stream. Suzy, the host was very welcoming. Very affordable and will definitely stay again!

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

A lovely spot in a pretty little village. We would happily have stayed here but was pouring with rain and we had no mobile signal so we moved on but would definitely stay here again.

  • 5/5

great spot in a sweet village. Don't bother spending the night at the ruggleston inn. Better value for money and quieter!

  • 5/5

Excellent stop for Dartmoor. Only £5. flat and quiet. two decent pubs in walking distance. would definitely use anytime heading to or from Cornwall or explore Dartmoor.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Great place to stop over on our way south, peaceful and quiet and at £5 a night you can’t go wrong.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

perfect place and very quiet. no cell service at all. in the morning we were surroundet by sheeps and horses. only 5 pounds for one night

  • 5/5

Good hard standing, stream round the far edge. Paid £2 for water. Great walks. woke up to ponies all around. Heartily recommend.

  • 5/5

Slept here for only one night with our camper van. It was pitch black and super quiet when we arrived. The next morning we paid 5£ at the local store because the kiosk was closed on a Monday. There is a public toilet 20m down the road passing the "Cafe on the Green" where you can get free WiFi. Other than that there was ZERO Mobil service.

  • 5/5

Slept here last night with our camper, so quiet and peaceful and for only £5 you can’t go wrong, will definitely be back.

  • 4/5

Excellent spot in the middle of the national park with several trails starting here. There is a small grocery store in town and a awesome coffee shop with vegan treats. Shout out to the lady who runs the kiosk!

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

When we came in the evening there was no one there and the shop where they told us to pay was closed. We felt a bit odd about not paying right away but it turned out to be no problem to pay in the next morning. While it was very calm in the evening it got a bit busier in the morning with people coming to the town for day trips/ breakfast.

  • 4/5

Lloc tranquil per fer nit, molt espai i anivellat.

  • 5/5

Beautiful spot, Nice Café next to the Parking lot is highly recommended for breakfast. Woken by sheep severel times during the night, but that was fine :)

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Beautiful spot, no facilities so must be self contained. (There is public toilets in the carpark next door) £5, payable to the kiosk or the shop. Wild horses, sheep and cows wandering about which the children loved and also a small park just up the road

  • 5/5

Stayed here for a night. beautiful spot right in the middle of the Moor. surrounded by Dartmoor ponies, was awoken at 4.30 by a lamb looking for his mum, Gladly reunited! Lovely shop, great pub and fresh pasties from the kiosk. Route a little hairy but got our 6m motorhome through eventually! ha ha All worth it once there.

  • 5/5

Only 5 punds for the night, bins available. The lady in the kiosk was very nice, beautiful church. Dartmoor ponies surrounding our van in the morning.

  • 5/5

Still a 5er nice and quiet. Arrived late and paid next day at kiosk. No issues

  • 5/5

Brilliant carpark. Pay at red kiosk or shop if kiosk is shut. Can pay by card too which is a bonus!

  • 4/5

Level and accessible, but beware of the grassy area in wet weather, which turns into a mud trap.

  • 4/5

There are public toilets in the local authority car park on the other side of the Cafe on the Green. The Old Inn on the other side of the Village Green also allows overnight stops as a member of the Britstops scheme.
