Bel endroit calme avec un accès facile à Durham, Chester-le-Street et Newcastle.
A series of three well maintained car parks. Take the left hand carpark and follow right round past the little carpark and you’ll arrive at the best bit. Overnight parking allowed and patrolled by friendly neighbourhood watch patrols. On the edge of Waldridge Fell Country Park where you can wander freely without sticking to rights of way. Beautiful quiet spot with easy access to Durham, Chester-le-Street and Newcastle.

Estacionamiento nocturno permitido y patrullado por amigables patrullas de vigilancia vecinal. En el borde de Waldridge Fell Country Park, donde puedes pasear libremente sin apegarte a los derechos de paso. Hermoso lugar tranquilo con fácil acceso a Durham, Chester-le-Street y Newcastle.

Parcheggio notturno consentito e pattugliato da amichevoli pattuglie di vicinato. Ai margini del Waldridge Fell Country Park dove puoi vagare liberamente senza rispettare i diritti di passaggio. Bellissimo posto tranquillo con facile accesso a Durham, Chester-le-Street e Newcastle.
Een serie van drie goed onderhouden parkeergarages. Neem de linker parkeerplaats en volg rechts langs de kleine parkeerplaats en u komt op het beste stuk. 'S Nachts parkeren is toegestaan en wordt bewaakt door vriendelijke buurtwachtpatrouilles. Aan de rand van Waldridge Fell Country Park waar je vrij kunt ronddwalen zonder je aan voorrangsrechten te houden. Mooie rustige plek met gemakkelijke toegang tot Durham, Chester-le-Street en Newcastle.

This specific site, Hylton St car park seemed to be the best of the group of 5 car parks for larger vehicles. A bit further back from the road, and less busy with dog walkers. No facilities. Fab views and walks from the car park.
Hatte wohl nicht auf den Text geachtet und den obersten sonnigen Platz genommen, hier herrschte bis nach 23 Uhr reger Verkehr, viele Autos kamen und gingen und dann wieder vor 6 Uhr.starteten die Hundebesitzer, hab mich aber wohlgefühlt nur zu wenig Schlaf bekommen

The no camping sign relates to pitching a tent on the moorland beyond the car park. It is OK to park up in the car park.

Stayed 1 night. Some cars driving in and then straight out again during the evening but nobody bothered us. A few dog walkers in the morning. A quiet nights sleep.
Rubbish bins and generally a clean car park. There are three car parks to choose from, the upper one offered a reasonable nights stay. Signal with three is not great but fine for messaging and calls. Lots of cars coming and going, between 2100-0000, use your imagination! Dog walkers in the morning but seem welcoming.
Great place for a break from driving, some lovely walks. But, there was neither phone nor Internet (I use EE), and I (solo female) was a bit spooked by one of the people who parked up there. So I moved on....
Being the initial adventure in my newly converted motor caravan I came visiting family and required a park up for the night. I’d heard a lot about this app so gave it a go. Not disappointed. This was a lovely spot where, arriving at 01:30, I was the only vehicle there. A great sleep was followed by a pleasant, relaxing morning taking in the amazing view this spot offers
