A really good spot if you manage to park up. Just a bit of noise overnight from the odd car turning round, the waves crashing on the beach and the people chatting and laughing on the beach, but well worth it for the lovely views and walk along the promenade etc. We were last here 3-4 years ago and this is just such a lovely spot to spend a night.

  • 4/5

Really great spot to stop off you can find space. We found one when we got here at 10pm. Beautiful views in morning and toilets down the prom. can be quite noisy with students and cars.

  • 5/5

Great little stop over and enough time to explore the town

  • 3/5

Quiet noisy with the waves against the beach and prom wall… very busy on weekends too so ideally arrive early however new restrictions coming in along with pay and display. Pay between 8am to 8pm Mon-Sat, four hours max and no return within four hours.

  • 5/5

Was able to get on the road no trouble in November, street lights are on permanently but no issue with blackouts etc. Occasional noise of people talking as they’re walking past but had no issues. Plenty of businesses and flats overlook so no concerns with safety either. Great spot, just make sure to move before advised time :)

  • 3/5

Tried to get a spot last Friday not a chance but got there early the following morning and there was one space

  • 5/5

Parked near the mountain, great views, more even road. Kind of quiet all night since it was a Sunday. Toilets open late and need to pay but it was open. Seemed a little sketch when we drove in around 10:00pm but theres construction and it’s just a college town, people at bars. Chinese was open late. Hiking trails and tram nearby £7 to ride but more beautiful hike. Best free beach front stay.

  • 4/5

Wonderful nights sleep, went quite far up the promenade and had little noise apart from the ocean. Can get quite busy though so it’s lucky we got there early. There are public toilets, however they cost 20p-40p and bring coins as card machine is always broken. Not far from a hotel restaurant that u can use before closure. Also a short walk to a weatherspoons that has a large toilet which is open to hours of the pub

  • 5/5

Parked up here 14th August, next to the beach, perfect park up. Will be back .

  • 4/5

Promenade! Try to get as far back as you can and you will have a wonderful night. There is delicious Pizza in a tent on the promenade.

  • 5/5

Very busy promenade, we managed to get parked around 7pm. There are toilets along the front but locked at night. Beautiful views, quiet.

  • 5/5

Great place to park along the promenade, but it is roadside parking. Arrived late Saturday and free to park all day Sunday, so a perfect stopover. Lots to do and see with some good walks for the dogs. Lots of traffic turning during the day but very peaceful at night.

  • 5/5

Arrived 4pm. Great place. strong phone signal. And Aberystwyth is well worth a visit. There are no camping signs close to the pier but no restrictions at the north end of the road.

  • 4/5

Loads of available spaces on a Monday night. Great find on the sea front with lovely promenade. Fairly new indoors bandstand provided free entertainment early evening. All in all, a pretty good stop over (apart from torrential rainfall in the night).

  • 5/5

Arrived late afternoon Sunday at end of June. Plenty of spaces available, found one midway, just before low wall with hardly any slope. Watched dolphins playing in bay and sunset into sea - perfect. Could have stayed on in morning up to 12 noon.

  • 5/5

Good park up right next to sea.

  • 5/5

great spot, arrive after 6pm, stay the night and you get 4 free hours from 8am. lovely to hear and see the sea. towns not to noisy midweek, pubs and spoons open for food. Do the Musium and cliff railway in the morning if you can. great stay

  • 4/5

Agree with others' comments but a couple of things to watch out for: road has a wicked camber so take care your breakfast doesn't run away!; can get very windy along the prom.

  • 5/5

You have to be pretty lucky to get a spot, the later you arrive the better. We managed to get a spot quite easily at around 8pm, any earlier would be a struggle. Worth it for the uninterrupted sea view, proximity to town and the Glengower for a good pint!

  • 5/5

Second time we've stayed here- if you're lucky enough to get a spot it's perfect, but you might want to have a Plan B in case all spaces are full. We squeezed in at 16:30 midweek with the help of a reversing camera. By 22:30 there was quite a lot of room but that's probably too late for most. We were the only van.

  • 3/5

Great proximity to the beach. Just a carpark, but a beautiful place in the world.

  • 1/5

late bars drunken people staggering around , , teenagers having partys on beach loud music and bonfire at least 2 meter high flames right next to path lots of student comadation so they can be a pain and lots of traffic going past van sometimes

  • 1/5

Het leek te mooi om waar te zijn …en dat was het ook. Een mooie promenade maar alles volgepakt met geparkeerd verkeer waaronder geen enkele campervan. Wij zijn doorgereden.

  • 5/5

Spent a lovely evening listening to the waves crash on the shore, food at the Glengower pub and open mic night at the bank vault (10min walk) Woke up to the sound of waves crashing and rain falling. What a spot this is! 5⭐!

  • 5/5

Superbe emplacement au bord de la plage. Parking gratuit la nuit et aucun panneau de contre indication. Reveil avec le bruit des vagues, aucun dérangement la nuit. Toilettes (30p) un peu plus haut dans la rue, en face des douches de plage

  • 5/5

Great spot along the beach, walkng distance to the centre and a great pub just down the road.

  • 5/5

Stayed here the night and will definitely return. It was pretty quiet and near toilets ,bars and takeaways. We loved the fact we were a stones throw away from the sea and promenade.

  • 4/5

02/07/23. I lavori sono quasi terminati ,solo pochi spazi ancora occupati dal cantiere. Posto veramente fantastico . Un grazie per il suggerimento.

  • 4/5

Lovely spot, was quite busy last night but then it was a sunny bank holiday. Roadworks starting on June 5th for 5 weeks which will reduce available spaces, this is further down towards the pier though. You can park on the single yellows across the road from 6pm to 9am as well

  • 4/5

    Too crowded on sunny days

  • 4/5

Arrived at about 10am on a Sunday and were lucky enough to get an end spot just across the road from the student halls. (Dead end) Busy during the day with cars/people. Quiet night...not many people about, lovely sound of the sea to lull us to sleep! Few other vans turned up later.

  • 5/5

Arrived 17:00 on a sunny Monday evening and there were no spaces so we sat in the van on the other side of the road outside the student halls of residence ( can't actually park that side at all til 18:00) and waited. By 17:30 we had a space - perfect. We had a fun evening out in Aber and a great night's sleep.

  • 4/5

Good little spot. Sunday evening was busy with people enjoying the walk, however we weren't disturbed and slept well.

  • 5/5

Free and except from the sea quiet parking spot without any signs that camping is forbidden. From 8 am - 6 pm you can also stay 4 hours for free. I recommend to drive the street a little bit further to the city center where the street has a greater distance to the sea because when the weather is stormy the sea water hits your car.

  • 4/5

Parked here for the night - no signs at all saying we couldn’t and nobody was bothered we were here. It was pretty quiet and was a nice spot listening to the waves. There’s also a pretty clean public toilet on the front also which charges 20p that you can Apple Pay for. Would stay here again.

  • 5/5

Took the advice of someone who parked outside the Glengower and had a nice drink and comfort break near closing time - and thanks to the friendly staff I have Internet access where there is no 4G. Happy days.

  • 1/5

Ganz einfach, solche Orte ohne womo-plätze vermeiden ..... nichts einkaufen, nichts trinken/essen Eigentlich kein Stern

  • 4/5

Lovely location. Students walking by but not until too late. Noone seemed to mind we were there. A few big building are vacant. No issues at all. Might need your ear plugs in though.

  • 5/5

Found a spot Saturday 5pm easter weekend and stayed until Sunday noon (no charge) Took the camp chairs out and enjoyed the sunset by the sea. Could hear the waves crashing through the night which was nice. There is a pub down the road but no loud drunks walking pass. As you are on the beach front there will be a lot foot traffic during the day but everyone is friendly

  • 5/5

easy to park, toilets just up the road (although they do close at night). nice and quite whilst also central.

  • 4/5

Fantastic spot for the night right on the sea front, the toilets are 5 mins walk away, I was a lone female and felt extremely safe here. It is first come first served bases, so in summer it might be tricky, but I had no problems finding a space

  • 5/5

Great coastal view. very quiet so slept well. Free overnight parking and 4 hours free from 8am Mon to Sat. Free Sunday. right next to town, pier and public toilets nearby (few mins walk) 20p usually, but were free when we went.

  • 3/5

Great spot but things to consider first. Parking is first come first served. You're right on the coast but it's an urban situation. Locals completely ignored us but normal town centre noise until after 2am. Signal on EE and O2 was weak. Relatively flat and level in places but not everywhere on this road. Nice view though and easy access to town for amenities.

  • 4/5

As said, 4 hours free parking 8am to 6pm. No overnight signs. WaterAid fountain on the front to refill 5L containers. 20p toilets. Bit of noise from late night students, but hey, we were young too. Front popular for people keeping fit walking & running. A few wild water swimmers and paddle boarders.

  • 5/5

Right on the beach front, the time for parking overnight plus the 4 hours allows time to explore. Stayed on a Saturday night before the students had returned, a few drunken groups walked past late night/early morning. Amazing spot.

  • 5/5

Stayed over night in July on a Monday night, very little noise except for a few revellers. Parking free from 8 pm to 6 am, then 4 hours free. Not bothered by anyone and easy access to promenade, town and toilets

  • 3/5

Parking Day and night no problem, however mobile data is poor (which is a surprise for a university city). Three UK 3 bars 4G but super SLOW, O2 UK non existent.

  • 4/5

We stopped from Saturday 2pm as 4 hours free parking, ovenighting allowed from 6 (see pictures), all day Sunday as no retrictions and free and didnt have to go till Monday 12pm as we got the 4 hours again, lovely spot and quiet only well behaved students in houses behind , secrity van went down to check and no drinking on the prom - will go again!
