Ignore main car park with height restrictions, follow road to overflow (nicer anyway!). Excellent stopover with great cycling & walks. Toilets at main cp. Pubs & shops in village. Lovely place.

Beautiful and peaceful stop, few cars when we arrived but left through the evening. We parked in main carpark, the height restriction is 6’6”. So smaller vans would fit, mine is a 21 plate Vivaro. Toilets were unlocked through the night. Great spot for dogs as there are poo bins all around. Highly recommend this as a stop.

Amazing place, didn't realise can't actually sleep overnight in the car park. Missed the sign! Some angry old man woke us up with him kicking our rubbish bag all around the place, leaving tissues and bottles all around, where we were staying. No need to be rude, and especially touching our stuff. People think they are so entitled to the land. We were not harming anyone, nor did we leave a mess.

Absolutely gorgeous waking up here. We came to the first car park rather than the overflow as the toilets were open all night. There is a pub right across the road, although, unfortunately we didn’t have time to go there. Really quiet all night until (dog) walkers arrived at about 8am. Perfect spot for Alton Towers.

Arrived to the overflow car park entrance to find a tree has been put in the way to block this off.

Brilliant spot. 10 minutes from Alton Towers. Ignore the main carpark (with height barrier) and continue along for about 100 metres (follow around to the left) and you will get to an open area with a bin. Park there. If you get to the sports ground, don’t stay there. It is locked at night! The road is badly potholed, but don’t let that put you off. Very quiet. Lots of walks.

Lovely and quiet place to park a motorhome. There’s plenty of space to park a large motorhome with a handful or spots up for grabs. It’s completely dark at night so you’ll need a good torch to guide you home from the nearby ‘The Cricketers Pub’. The pub is great by the way. £3.50 for a pint of Pedigree Ale. Beautiful!

Handy stopover for in between 2 days at Alton towers. Be careful not to miss the turning after the main car park, like we did as the other road gets narrow. There is a 3 tonne weight limit bridge to cross into the overflow car park. Lots of dog walkers and cars for the cricket club but we weren't bothered by anyone. A peaceful nights sleep.
