Stumbled across this little beauty. only a lay-by but right next to the sea on a very quiet road.no sign say no overnight, well not at the moment.

We arrived in the dark, two vans there already but we managed to squeeze on the end. Fell asleep to the sound of crashing waves and woke up to a stunning view! Relatively flat but not paved so drive in slowly.

Very windy in October, but quiet and beautiful. Great walks from this spot too.

  • 5/5

Spot tranquille et jolie vue, 2/3 places. Un peu de vent pendant la nuit.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Dreamy parkup. Can hear the waves as you fall asleep. There were two of us here but wouldn't want anymore than that as it's a small spot and is also used by local dog walkers. Absolutely lovely coastal walk

  • 5/5

Really nice spot, steep-ish access down to a rocky beach and we had the place basically to ourselves. Awesome for rock pooling and right on the coastal walk trail

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Lovely spot. Didn’t actually fit in this exact spot, but just slightly further up the road there is a similar situation with much more room.

  • 5/5

didn't get to stay here.we attempted twice but quickly filled up with campervans so be early. absolutely lovely views of the beach and sea.

  • 5/5

Great little layby with amazing sea view. It was empty when we arrived mid-afternoon but filled up before dark with vans.

  • 5/5

1st overnight stop on our next adventure! Really peaceful, no bother, great coastal walks & stunning views. Fell asleep to the sound of waves. Small public bin few yards backwards on the main road (if sea is on your left) No Waste/Black water disposal. Take it with you! Leave no trace. :)

  • 5/5

Stayed here 2 nights. Awesome place. No signal on 3 mobile, but that didn’t bother us because we had the view. 2 other vans also there but there was room. A stunning walk to Craster and Dunstanburgh. 20 minutes walk to the Jolly Fisherman pub. Would recommend. No bins or any other services, so must be self contained!

  • 5/5

Brilliant park up. We were the only van there, quiet road throughout the night and beautiful sunrise in the morning. Lovely walk along the coastal path to Craster. Access to the beach.

  • 5/5

A wonderful spot and walk on the cove. Not as peaceful from walkers and cars as others experienced but certainly not enough issues to not go again.

  • 5/5

Great spot. Wonderful view from the van. Very quiet spot. No traffic from 9pm til 7am. Lovely 30 minutes walk to two pubs.

  • 5/5

Stopped last night. Arrived after 8pm, 3 vans in this space so went 150 metres up the road there’s another pull in room for another 3. Views are blocked by bushes at the second pull in but it didn’t bother me. Ground was a bit uneven, but a bit of manauvering avoiding the holes. Nice walks in both directions along the coastal path, beautiful area.

  • 5/5

Second visit to this location now; thought we might be out of luck as it was a Bank Holiday weekend and the general area was quite busy, Two other vans, one VW camper and one large motorhome already in place but we were able to squeeze our 6m MoHo in without problem. Ideal stopover if you are heading for Craster , or Seahouses for the boat trips to the Farne Islands (as we were on this occasion).

  • 5/5

  • 4/5

Excellent spot with amazing views and access to tiny beach / shoreline down a steep but navigable path right at the parking spot. Walk along the Coastal path in either direction for 5-10 mins for more amazing views and easier shoreline access (and better phone reception :) ). Porpoises spotted just off shore near the headland just to the north. No probs with walkers but road surprisingly busy

  • 5/5

  • 3/5

Nice views and room for one or two smaller vans. No phone signal on EE or Vodaphone. Had our side door open but dozens of walkers passing as it is right on the coastal path. Lots of tutting and scowling from walkers. Very busy with traffic until about eleven pm and again from very early in the morning.

  • 4/5

  • 5/5

Great spot to park on a fine day, weather was kind to us and we shared the spot with two small campers. Lots of sea birds below in the rock nesting but didn't keep us up, had a very peaceful night. No bins or services please take your rubbish with you.

  • 5/5

extraordinary view!!! only 10min from the A1

  • 4/5

A fantastic place to stay by the sea. There was a bit of traffic over night, and it was very exposed when the weather got rough.

  • 5/5

Amazing spot. Lots of friendly walkers on the coastal path. 15 mins walk to a beach, 30 mins walk to a pub (The Jolly Fisherman - also 5 stars). Almost flat, space for 2 maybe 1 van, but also busy with walkers parking up.

  • 4/5

Loved this spot! Friendly dog walkers and lovely walks.

  • 4/5

Simply stunning, almost flat spot for 3 vans, straight onto the coastal path for walks, only downside is 4G on EE rubbish and I’m a remote worker!

  • 5/5

Lovely quiet spot only sounds were the waves and occasional bleat from sheep over the road. Beautiful view to wake up to!!!

  • 5/5

Fantastic spot, really quiet and lovely views

  • 5/5

Lovely little quiet spot, great views, we were the only ones parked up so even better. The walk along the coast with our dog was great too. Highly recommend

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Absolutely gorgeous park up! quiet little place with little cove.

  • 4/5

Wir waren mit 2 Vans hier, hatten Glück. Toller Platz, nachts recht ruhig. Schöner Spaziergang in den Ort, zum Fischrestaurant ****.

  • 3/5

  • 5/5

Absolutely spectacular spot, was lucky to squeeze the beast in between walker’s cars and be rewarded with a perfectly flat spot! Awesome views, great coastal path. Quiet and safe. Incredible sunset and has a swim in the morning. Perfect

  • 5/5

  • 4/5

Very nice place but when I arrived there was other vans here. Only room for max 4 vans but I got a spot and was amazing place to wake up.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Great little spot. Small layby and not the flattest but the views more than made up for that. Road is quiet enough for a good night's sleep. Can imagine it being a little windy on certain days. Highly recommended.

  • 5/5

What a view from the van!

  • 5/5

What a lovely little spot for the night! really very quiet and great views of the sea. Right next to the coastal path which is very well maintained. we did a lovely walk to Boulmer and back - a ~7mile round trip. Thoroughly recommend. the Joiners Arms in Newton By The Sea is also a lovely gastro pub for food. definitely worth booking (online).

  • 4/5

I wouldn't call it a layby as in tarmaced etc, it's a unlevel/rough pull in but OK for a couple of vehicles but give it credit the views are great. costal path passes by and the road is not too busy,

  • 5/5

Nice views. Space for 2 vans with another lay by further up (but no view). A bit windy when we visited.
