good stop, long layby and when we stayed was 1 other motorhome and 3 vans with still. plenty of room. next to a fast road, but limited number of vehicles daytime / nighttime. good views and east access to moors for dog walking
Big layby sur route calme. Superbes vues panaramiques. Occupé pour les marcheurs le jour, très calme la nuit. Endroit parfait pour une nuit.
Big layby on the side of a road. Used by dog walkers. We stopped overnight it was very quiet just the occasional car zooming by. Easy access to walk your dog on moor - sheep about. Highly recommend please leave nothing but tyre tracks.
Großer Liegeplatz auf ruhiger Straße. Toller Panaramablick. Tagsüber für Wanderer beschäftigt, nachts sehr ruhig. Perfekter Ort für eine Nacht.

Had 3 lovely nights here all good and very quiet at night expect for the last night (on Friday) had some cars driving very fast and wind rocking the van. Good for walks and to visit Kendal.

Nice stop, quite a narrow bendy road to get to from the south but doable in a lwb sprinter. Good views, very quiet during the night
VanTourer_202006/05/2025Für eine Nacht OK. Tolle Aussicht und Wandermöglichkeit. Sehr wenige Autos. Wir haben gut geschlafen. Wenn man dann in Richtung Blackwell Haus fährt, erlebt man eine Tolle Staße. Die ist aber Teilweise nur für Kastenwagen geeignet.

Road still says it’s closed however when you reach the end there is a nice wide lay-by you can pull into, nice,quite and flat.

Apparently road was closed, not possible to reach this spot. Went to car park by the cricket field in Kendal instead.

Wide, gravel lay-by. Lovely views in all directions. Few dog walkers. Road had a few fast cars in the evening but quiet during the night so undisturbed sleep. Good place and we would use it again.

I like this park up and being so close to Scout Scar which is such a beautiful place to walk and run..also only 30min walk into town with all amenities needed. Sadly be aware of boy racers racing up/down here around between 7-11pm. We unfortunately lost our fur baby because of a hit and run :(

Beautiful views. Ground a little uneven. But not to bad. Nice walks. Light traffic getting quieter during the evening. Good night sleep.

Great spot we found via the park4night app, we stayed for one night at the weekend n had a great night’s sleep. Arrived around 8.30pm and a few cars drove by but nothing too excessive, the road was nice and quiet by the time we went to sleep around 11pm. Would stay again :-)
paterson777702/05/2021A large uneven layby, hovever with a few flat areas with lovely views over looking the town of Kendal. A quiet road and no vehicles when we arrived so a peaceful nights sleep. In the morning several cars arrived as it appears to be a very popular area for walking the dogs.

Quiet spot. After dark, not many cars passing. Only one other camper there. Layby terrain is quite uneven so a lot of puddled water when wet.

Arrived late, left around 8am on a Sunday, 2 other campers, lovely sunrise and view of the fells in the distance, a A little bit of traffic in the morn but overall Good spot :)

Nice little spot for an overnight stop. We arrived late after driving further than intended, there was one other van parked up but plenty of space. Road itself was very quiet overnight; a bit of noise from the A591 which is close by, but not enough to disturb. Good proximity to Kendall for breakfast in the morning.

Fab little spot. The road is quiet at night and relatively quiet in the morning too. Beautiful views. It’s a bit uneven but we were the only vehicle here so had choice of the entire lay-by!
