Superbe place de parking sur une route sans issue avec vue sur la mer et la campagne. À distance de marche des toilettes qui coûtent 20p et il y a aussi des douches, toutes deux situées derrière l'école de surf. En fait, nous avons payé 3 £ pour nous garer sur le parking de l'école de surf juste au-dessus de la plage pendant la journée, puis nous sommes allés à cet endroit le soir.

Great parking spot on a no through road with views of the sea and countryside. Walking distance to toilets which are 20p and there are also showers too both located behind the surf school. We actually paid £3 to park in the surf school car park directly above the beach during the day and then moved to this spot of an evening.
Great beach and walks and there are also 2 pubs within a 10 min walk.

Toller Parkplatz an einer Sackgasse mit Blick auf das Meer und die Landschaft. Toiletten sind zu Fuß erreichbar, sie kosten 20 Pence, und es gibt auch Duschen, beide hinter der Surfschule. Wir haben tatsächlich 3 £ bezahlt, um tagsüber auf dem Parkplatz der Surfschule direkt über dem Strand zu parken, und sind dann abends hierher gezogen.
Toller Strand und tolle Spazierwege, und es gibt auch 2 Pubs, die man in 10 Minuten zu Fuß erreichen kann.

This was a great stop over but over the years it had been abused. Caravans parked and on occasions on their own pickups and caravans would rock up and leave tons of rubbish. We tried to clear up when we were there. I think it’s shortsighted banning completely as we would be happy to pay a permit. They could maybe enforce ‘no camping behaviour’ approach like France.
been a lovely place to stay such a shame it's coming to a end cos some people don't respect it and abuse it because of permanent caravans and others it's spoilt it for the good ones instead of prohibited night stay why don't they put a parking meter in place £5 a night I'm pretty sure it would change then
North Yorkshire Council are planning to ban overnight stops due to the area becoming abused for past few years with people staying for weeks, sometimes months, Abuse it and lose it.

Plenty of cars, campers and motor homes parked along the road. Quiet place with some pleasant views.
A lovely free park up / rest spot I stumbled across after visiting Bempton Cliffs (en route to Whitby) and an early rise to see sunrise there. Felt safe, lots of motor homes, camper vans, dogwalkers and surfers. Felt safe having a snooze without black out blinds up. Great snack food at the Salty Dog down the hill to the bay. Will definitely overnight here next time I'm this way car camping.
great park up, only stopped through the day but it would be a great spot at night as there is no signs to say you can't and pretty flat/level in some areas
An excellent overnight stopover. Quiet, a little noise from road which did not disturb us. Had friendly neighbour who advised us on best route down to beach. Would stop again.
An old couple from cayton caravan park tried getting in my van. Thiefs aren't always who you expect. stay safe and keep doors locked at all times
I've used this space to do work on my motorhome over the winter. There is a caravan there, but the bloke that lives in it is decent and friendly. I feel safe and comfortable there. Beautiful views of Scarborough Castle and a lovely walk down to Cayton Bay. Not far from Filey Brigg where there is a free elsan. Great pub 15 mins walk away and a garage for fuel and necessities. Popular at weekends.
Great spot with amazing views. Arrived around 9pm and parked with ease, plenty of room. Had a peaceful night here with lots of other vans around. Would definitely return.
Nice location, not the prettiest of views just hedges really. But a nice walk to the beach which is our favourite! Lots of other vans too.
Really good spot. Drove almost all the way to the end and turned round to park up away from road. Lots of vans here.
It’s not the prettiest place to park up but it’s functional, reasonably quiet, and it’s short ish walk to a super beach where there are LOADS of people having fun surfing!
Stopped 3/4th of June in Motorhome. Quiet road with no through traffic and a turning area at the end. Sea view and lots of other campers parked up. Decent 4g signal on EE. If people respect the area it will continue to be great overnight stop.
Stopped for 1 night on a Friday bank holiday weekend. Quite a few vans parked up and some caravans at the end of the road. Managed to get a space on the road near the turning to the beach and surf shop. Signs in the car park say no overnight camping showers and toilets for customers of the surf shop it seems. There are free toilets on the beach if you walk north. Bit of noise from the A road.
Great place to park overnight nice and quiet, no though road so only cars coming to end of road to turn around after they have parked for walk on beach, 2 other campers parked with us but loads of space at several spots along road best place near the end of the road on right hand side
Stayed her last night, great spot, if you drive to top of road to the right it's a lot more private and sheltered from road noise. lovely views, great nights sleep very quiet. We arrived about 4.30pm left 10 this morning. Few others there vans and motor homes.
As others said therevis a main road running close to there is a bit of road noise so it didnt bother us. We stayed 2 nights and we didnt have any bother and felt safe. there were quite s few mohos and campers parked up
not the quietest main road near by but a lovely spot, no sign of anyone who'd move us on (we parked just up from the surf school) and great facilities at the surf school car park during the daytime
Drove by and there was a polite young lad, said the farmer may move us. he and some others had what looked like a permanent set up. caravans, no cars ect. w e decided to move on
Once WAS!! a lovely little stop for a night. We used to stop here on our long journey down country and always looked forward to parking up for the night and enjoying the peace and quiet with wonderful views until last weekend when we awoke to 4 males in a group all stood round another young ladies vehicle (I don’t need to explain what was happening use your imagination ) .We won’t be returning
Not a safe place, we have never had a more nervous night away, the 'vanners next to us had their van damaged and someone put dog poo on our door handles. We have been here before but will never use again, we spoke to others and they have had similar experiences lately Never seen out like it.
The good: safe accessible location with lots of room for many vans. The bad, The A road which runs parallel was busy throughout the night and as a result we had a very poor nights sleep. A couple on motor bikes came past at 06:50 deliberately revving engines and beeping horns, clearly intended to disburb the 'vanners. Won't use again.
Great little place to park, toilets are 5 mins away behind surf shop, 20p does say for car park customers but no one checked, also had showers (outdoor) they were warm just what we needed , wouldn’t fancy them on a cold day though, all in all if you need a free place for the night it’s perfect

Lovely spot on a quiet road, lots of campers here too but plenty of space. Great views and will be checking out the facilities in the morning. checked out the facilities, they are 'customer use only' but as far as I'm concerned we were customers as it was 20p to use the loo and the showers were two basic outdoor showers, cold water ones
Great spot - very quiet (some noise from the road, but the spot is far enough way that it still feels quiet and the noise is easy to block out). Lovely view to wake up to - beach nearby (although I didn't have time to visit). Some other vans parked too so felt safe. Lots of vans parked further up which seemed very sociable so depends if you're looking for something quiet or a bit livelier.
Great place just outside of Scarborough, dead end so no real traffic noise. Few other vans so feels safe. 5 minute walk to fantastic beach.
Stopped for one night. There's parking all the way along the road which is quiet all through the night. We parked along-side the cow field which was really nice as well. Would recommend.
5/5 one of the best places to park up in Scarborough. Loads of space for campers. The views are amazing too! It feels really safe.
Nice view spoilt by the heavy rain. boy racers used the road to check the loudness of their exhaughts!
