Arrived at the end of May bank holiday. The very friendly landlord welcomed us in, still smiling and bright after a very busy day. Plenty of space in the bottom of the carpark especially for vans to park. Perfect stop on the way down from Dorset to the West Country.

All the good things everyone has said before... great food, service, vibe etc... but they don't now have access to drinking water.

Do yourself a favour and eat here. Highly recommend the three bean bread bowl *yum*

Stayed here 1 night, quite nights sleep. Just spend £10 per adult at bar. staff were lovely.

brilliant busy pub and obviously popular with locals for food and by the sounds coming out of it, the kids love the play area. not totally level but nothing a few points won't solve. bar staff very professional and attentive, auto correct put that as attractive which would have sent a completely different message

fantastic stay, they had live music outside on Sunday until around 8pm and the atmosphere was amazing! fantastic food, staff were super helpful. Good car park to stay in, some construction work from about 7:30am nearby but we were up anyway.

Great overnight stay, a dedicated motorhome area. The staff were lovely. There’s a minimum spend of £10pp for overnight stays which is easily done with a couple of drinks each. Sadly we arrived after the restaurant closed at 8.30pm but we'll definitely be going back.

Very friendly staff, Sunday lunch recommended. plenty of time for it before the Brittany ferry. Ground very uneven so take good levelling ramps.

Lovely and spacious parking for plenty of campers. Good food and drinks selection. Costs £10 however taken off with meal/drinks. Staff very friendly, only downside no outside toilet for when the pub is closed.

Great stopover here last night- charge is £10 per person which was taken off bill as eating/drinking with them & food was great with friendly staff & lovely vibe inside

Nice pub, good food, friendly vibe..quiet car park and camper spot is well signposted. I believe there are 5 spaces. no amenities apart from pub toilets. worth stopping at if you are heading west and need an overnight break.

Peaceful, quiet, friendly. Just off A38 when travelling. Good food and drink. Pub wifi stretches to the level car park. Really good stop over and handy for exploring Dartmoor too.

weird carpark, large outdoor seating area was a combination of the noise of the A38 combined with the smell of the adjacent pigs poop. Definitely a gastro pub, basic menu with a good range of drinks.

Excelente ontvangst door de eigenaar. Zeer welkom gegeten. Ook de medewerkers zijn ontzettend vriendelijk. Een prima plek achter de pub. Nu aan een heerlijke lauwe pint. Vanavond gaan we hier eten.

Car park very basic, will definitely not be back, felt as if we were in an industrial site, food ok. Very basic pub food, the service was good and food was prompt, service staff were friendly and helpful

Had a lovely quiet stop over. Staff were fab and the food was really good. They had live music when we arrived which was really good too!

Sehr gut! Am Wochenende Livemusik. Waren um 17h hier, kurz danach war der Parkplatz voll. Ab 20h aber wieder Parkplätze frei. Vielleicht am WE besser Tisch reservieren! Nette Leute...WiFi bis auf den Parkplatz

Delicious food! Well worth a stopover. Staff are very friendly, and dogs are welcomed.

Lovely pub, spend over a tenner per person and they let you stay in the car park over-night. Dedicated, level camper parking and even resident goats and chickens. Cracking service, had some good cocktails.

had a great stop over and a few drinks. my dog and myself felt very welcomed by all staff and the owners. I really enjoyed myself and no doubt will be returning at some point in the future. highly recommended

Great place to stop overnight but beware the cockerels in the morning ! staff very friendly and pub food is good. You must register your vehicle registration in at the bar when you arrive. Parking is free, but you do have to eat/drink in the pub (see the red sign in pictures).

Excellent overnight stop for the Santander ferry. Very friendly staff, good food at a reasonable price I thought. Not too busy despite it being a bank holiday weekend. Recommend.

Great pub with good food and freindly staff! Came here on a Sunday and was entertained with live music . Parked Motorhome in overflow carpark round back of pub (where designated Motorhome spaces are) Give registration number of vehicle to the bar it's that simple..

An amazing place to stay and so easy. All the young staff serving us were so friendly and helpful. They adore dogs too. Quiet place to stay with chickens literally roaming free around the carpark. The stars were so bright at night. Such a delight. Great pub food. Well set up to stay for free if you eat there. Highly recommend.

Excellent place. We stayed over one night. There 4 or 5 spaces available. It was a Quiet place with a pleasent wake up call from the Cockerell in morning. Very friendly staff and good pub food. We booked a table and they were more than welcoming for a motorhome.

Great little place to stop. we came down from Lancashire to catch the ferry at plymouth the next day. quiet, safe stop to park for free if you purchase something from the pub. we got there a little later than 8.30pm when food service finishes but I rung in advance and they stayed behind and made us something. we then had breakfast the following morning and they gave us a discounted price. lovely!

Lovely food, friendly staff, free overnight parking, there was a live band. Water supply but no electric hook up. Goats and chickens in the car park woke us up fairly early but it was actually quite helpful. T4 travellers

Great place. The food is excellent. A real home cooked meal and really well priced. Animals, beer, food, play ground and a free park up, what more do you want.

Fantastic location to overnight we had an evening meal and a breakfast ? well why not. Topped up our water and chilled out with the very helpful staff.

Great place to stop. We arrived late last night after the food service had stopped but the staff were great, keeping the kitchen open late to make sure we were fed. Goats and Chickens are friendly too! Free to stay as long as you use the pub.

Stayed for one night for free just bought drinks in pub. Downside was pigs and chickens woke us?

Found this little Gem on this site. Very friendly landlord and landlady (motor homer’s themselves). Booked a table to eat - both food and ales were inexpensive and fantastic value for money. Quite village location close to the the A38, a great stop over. Highly recommend. Will definitely stay here again.

Went in to ask if we could stay the night and booked a table for 2. They were more than happy for us to stay. The ground is mostly uneven and required chocks to get level. We were woken at 5am by the cockerels on the land but other than that no issues.

Friendly people great place! dog friendly place too. Full english breakfast is awesome. I stayed last minute with camper no charge but have to buy food.

pop in and ask and they're happy for you to stop overnight for the price of a drink or some food. the food is lovely and well worth a stop here. no waste emptying yet they're working on getting it put in. Ask and they'll happily let you fill water. really friendly people!
