Fantastic stopover and well worth the £5 fee. Excellent food in the cafe. Really nice people who own the place. Highly recommended.

  • 5/5

Great place to spend the night, beautiful countryside and made to feel welcome

  • 5/5

Just a note to others thinking of coming here: they are only licensed for 5 vans and you must book online via their website prior to coming. The 20 spaces noted on P4N may be for cars - not overnights as I assumed! Looks lovely and cafe has a good menu

  • 4/5

parked here for two nights £5/night. Really good value, stunning views, level pitch as I was the only camper here, but they are licensed for upto 5. Food and the Ice-cream were really good. use of toilets when caves/cafe open. Mobile & Internet not great. Cool things for the kids, caves and play area. Owners and Staff super friendly. Would return if in area.

  • 5/5

A wonderful stop over, incredible views & peaceful after the caves close. £10 for the night with £5 credit. No facilities once closed, but you have access to picnic tables and sand pits. The food in the cafe was really good quality and delicious. Owners are really helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. we didn't go into the cave. We will definitely be back for the full experience.

  • 1/5

Be warned! Until June 2025 the car park is managed by NCP with CCTV. You have to register your reg at reception within 10 minutes of arrival or it's a £100 fine. It's only open Wednesday to Saturday at the moment. If you arrive and they're shut, drive straight back out! Owners aren't pleased, and told me they plan to break the contract at the first opportunity which is June 2025.

Stayed for 2 nights. Staff helpful and friendly. £5 pr night. No amenities when shop/cafe closes. Mains water tap available outside. Food excellent. The cavern guided tour was worth the entrance fee. Overnight quiet. Safe. Near road but not a problem as traffic light overnight. Would recommend, and there is also activities available for children. Owners actually live on site.

  • 5/5

Great stopover, plenty of space to choose from late afternoon once day visitors are leaving. Nice little cafe, friendly hosts. £10 for the night, £5 off any purchase in the shop effectively making it a fiver a night. The caverns are amazing and well worth a visit. Amazing views and quiet nice sleep. Close to Grimwith reservoir which has a nice 7km walk around the perimeter.

  • 5/5

Stayed here two nights. Cost has gone up to £10 however £5 can be used at the caves in the gift shop or cafe. We used it for coffee in the morning. Perfect location to visit wider Yorkshire dales. There is a fresh water tap. It was very calm when we stayed but i can imagine it can get wild as it is exposed.

  • 5/5

Good spot, nice cafe opens at 9am. Felt very welcome by owner despite it being closing time (6pm). Water fill available. No dump site (or toilet facilities when shop closed), so vehicle must be self-contained for grey waste and loo overnight (eg no car/roof tent campers). 5 pitches, EHU available on 2. Windy/exposed spot so be prepared for a little van movement. Mild slope to pitch area.

  • 5/5

Fantastic place to stop over. The caverns are a must, with UV after 3pm. Beautiful countryside, friendly staff, good cakes.

  • 5/5

Mooie plek om te overnachten. Erg rustig, mooie vergezichten. Tour door de grotten is een aanrader!

  • 5/5

lovely place to stay. friendly staff. £5 for over night stay, can book online. no toilet or shower. sand pit for the kids to play in. we've really enjoyed it, perfect for the night. dog friendly. will stay again :-)

  • 5/5

Paid £5 to park for the night. Although if you arrive after 5pm and leave before 9am then there would be no one there. unfortunately cafe no longer does breakfasts! scones were nice and you can get sandwiches etc. very windy, no phone signal.

  • 5/5

fantastic place ran and owned by lovely people. it is now only £5.00 to park up for the night. caves are amazing and food is fantastic.

  • 5/5

Outstanding stopover, wonderful views, great welcome. A fantastic breakfast set us up for a day's walking around the local reservoir.

  • 5/5

Great stopover. Passing traffic was unobtrusive. Caves were an unexpected joy - those hard hats were very necessary! Food and hosts delightful. £10 worth it.

  • 5/5

Lovely and quiet, food in the cafe excellent, staff were so friendly. No issues arriving late (we phoned ahead and paid in the morning). Beautiful view to wake up to, even did a tour around d the caverns. Loved the place and would happily stay here again.

  • 5/5

A great stop over. £5 a night was reasonable price. The breakfast was really good and the staff were friendly too. Just be warned it can get a little windy so think carefully on where to park your vehicle.

  • 5/5

Fantastic place.. well worth a visit and stop the night, everyone is so friendly.. the caverns are truly one of Yorkshire’s gems.. you’d be foolish not to stop over the views are spectacular and only £5

  • 4/5

Great service, arrived late didn't book but the lad on site was very accommodating. I had breakfast in the warm cafe in the morning which was great after a particularly cold night in poor weather. I had 0 phone coverage which is why I dropped it a star.

  • 5/5

Brilliant place, the kids loved it (11yrs old). The food at the cafe is fab, the views are amazing. We didn't use the cinema or the outdoor cozy private dining area you can hire but these looked fab, we just went in the caves had an early tea, then played uno outside and dug for treasure in the sand pits. The cappuccino was perfect, we will be back for sure! The owners were lovely!

  • 3/5

Unfortunately they do not accept car campers which is understandable as they’re not open 24 hours and prefer people to be self contained however it does look beautiful.

  • 5/5

Brilliant place to visit and stay. Staff are awesome. We spent 2 nights, it is peaceful with lovely views. Recommend the cinema, pre-book and eat there as much as you can.. great food and exceptional quality place all round. Gates locked at night for security - we'll go back for sure!

  • 5/5

Amazing place to stay! We arrived Fri 10th Sept and had booked into the cinema at 4pm. we had the cinema to ourselves, chose the film and waitress service! We stayed 2 nights at £5/nt and had a really scrummy breakfast in the beautiful cafe. We also booked a cave explore and given hard hats and torches. Great!!! They have a shop too and The Time Out private dining room. Loved it!!!

  • 5/5

Stopped by to explore the Caves. Definitely worth the hour spent, great lighting and cave intervals sensitively exposed with just the right amount of context and stories to complement the experience. Staff friendly and cafe looks good. Did not stay the night as enroute, however at £5 with the extensive views, walks and daytime facilities, it'd be hard to fault this place.

  • 5/5

This is where we parked up last night £5 for the night as we couldn’t stay where we where originally planning. Amazing views. The most welcoming and friendly family, we had some lovely food last night and an amazing breakfast this morning. Highly recommended l, we’ll be back to explore the caves and eat more twix brownies.

  • 5/5

Extremely friendly place, toilets available when the cafe is open. Lovely food at the cafe. We had a really pleasant evening and the whole car park to ourselves! Now charging £5 per night.

  • 5/5

Had a great stay over, there was a few more motorhomes, nice and quite location, they now charge £5.00 a night which is still well worth it.

  • 5/5

Worth a visit, food lovely in the cafe, caves worth a visit and hosts are lovely. Sunset was beautiful.

  • 5/5

Excellent stop (Sept 2020) and all we had to do was say hello and buy a couple of treats from the shop. The gate is locked overnight and we were the only van staying the night. It is exposed to the Westerly winds but the views are terrific and staff very friendly.

  • 4/5

Lovely overnight stay with good views. Vertical friendly family. Phoned ahead and bought food in cafe as requested. Felt secure because they closed the barrier overnight.

  • 4/5

Fantastic park up great views beautiful sunset. walks around area and visit the caves or the cafe to stay the night and help out the owners. so friendly and welcoming. only downside is poor signal, but i like that. Recommended.

  • 5/5

Perfect stopover. Call ahead to ask, staff are super friendly. You can stay for free if you visit the caves or go to the cafe. We didn't have time for the caves so got a delicious breakfast which also meant no washing up! Amazing views and a beautiful short walk to the top of a hill across the road with even better views!

  • 5/5

Lovely stop over. Just message Lisa and nick first at the caves just to let them know you are here and safe. Quiet nights sleep With a nice breakfast in the morning x

  • 5/5

Brilliant spot safe secure quet top views great breakfast

  • 5/5

The owner and staff are very welcoming! They put you in a gated parking area which overlooks the beautiful scenery. In exchange they ask that you purchase something from the cafe or pay to go into the caves, really worth the stop

  • 5/5

Fantastic views and a wonderful nights rest. Hosts at the cave very welcoming. Fabulous cakes and no need to cook your morning breakfast just walk into the cafe for a lovely bacon buttie. Will return soon...
