A very small lane to park three small camper Mwb. lay-by up one side next to a church. Heavy slopt. Very quiet with cars and trackers here and there. Cove and door 30 mins walk for both across the cliff. Church bells go ever hour. Local pubs and shops 5 mins walk away
Lots of spaces, almost silent other than church bells occasionally. Now there are signs saying no overnight stays sadly. Great location and free, slight incline but it's worth that for free
signs up saying no overnight!!
10 min walk to the cove. Public toilets at the cove are very clean. You can either park outside the church or down the road a little. Would defiantly come again!
Busy during the day. Small shop 100m away. Church gets busy on a Sunday morning. Great location to get to durdle door
Free parking on a slight incline. Way better than £20 for longer vehicles in the carpark.
The church clock bell strikes every 15mins We didn’t find it to bad. Definitely on a slope. Well worth not paying £20 car park charge at the Cove with no overnight allowed. Water tap at the back of the church and one at the village hall although the gate is locked when the halls not in use.
Lovely little spot even if the church bells did ring every 30minutes! In the heart of the village with local shop and pubs within a 5/10 min walk super close to durdle door and lulworth cove, only a 25minute drive to visit the abandoned village of Tyenham. . . will definitely be back!
We had the quietest night in this lovely lay-by next to the church with views over fields. The church bells are not tolling atm (there is scaffolding around the bell tower and not sure for how long) so aren’t ringing every 15 mins. Highly recommended. Lulworth Cove is a 10 min walk and other lovely walks on doorstep too. Castle inn just round the corner for food.
Roadside parking on either side of Church Rd. Lucky enough to get a spot and easily walk the 10 minutes to Lulworth Cove & also then do the coastal path to Durdle Door (uphill!). Much preferred to paying £20 for day parking at the car park!
Parcheggio lungo strada. A 1 km dalle scogliere. TOP. Tutto gratuito. No servizi. Alimentari a inizio zona parcheggio.
personally I loved hearing the church bells every fifteen minutes for the entire night. peaceful for me and close to everything you love about lulworth cove.
You can park either side of the road there was plenty of space I was quite surprised! If you arrive late and leave early the road is quiet but during the day will be very busy. church bells ring throughout the night but didn't disturb my sleep. I found rubbish bins on the pavement which was handy. only 4 stars as not as secluded as I might like but enjoyed my night would recommend :)
Great location to walk to Lulworth Cove and Durdle door hike across cow fields. Quite enough with passing traffic. But I’d recommend not parking too close to the lovely church, unless you don’t mind the church bells on the hour and every fifteen minutes. Lost count how many times I got woken up.
Went to try this spot but what I think was a tour coach parked up in there .nice little village saw few pubs driving through
Schöner Stellplatz direkt ab der Straße. Nachts ziemlich ruhig aber Tagsüber an Wochenenden viel Verkehr. Super Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen entlang der Küste.
perfect spot to see the lulworth cave. amazing hikes and great viwe on top of the hill! would recomend it to everyone.
Great spot ! Can take a nice stroll to see the beautiful Lulworth cove and Durdle door. Slept over night with no issues and felt comfortable. The spot is on a slop. The church bell wasn’t an issue at all and went off more around every 30mins and hardly noticed after a while too. Fell in love with Dorset such a good spot.
Handy overnight stop. Felt safe. Only real issue was the church bell chiming each 15 min.
Parking spot next to the street. Not even and also not very quiet during the night. But it was free and it is really close to durdle door.
Sitio tranquilo y bien, eso si mucha pendiente.
Ok spot but on a bit of a slope. Also right outside church and clock chimed every 15 minutes! Other than that quiet.
What a find, stayed the night here lovely evening (its on quite a steep hill so just bear this in mind for sleeping/ water purposes!) visited Londis in the morning for a lovely cuppa and croissant, then walked down into The Cove, free parking whilst everybody was fighting to park and pay at the seafront. Lovely pleasant walk. Highly recommend this little gem, lots of space for multiple campers.
We stayed for one night in our VW camper. It was a handy spot for one night, quiet and nice walk into Lulworth cove and the town for food. The bell didn't bother us too much underneath but it was more noisy in the pop top. Still would go back for one night.
Quiet place at night. Just a few cars passing at the end of the day coming from the Durdle Door. There is a store really closeby. And if you drive 3 minutes to the beach entry, there are toilet facilities. You cannot level the van since it’s a sort of hill. We stayed for one night.
Incredible location, lots of space for large campers, short walk down to Lulworth Cove and nice walk to Durdle Door. On a hill so impossible to get level but slept really well. Church on the corner that rings it’s bells every 15 mins but not too loud. Shop at the bottom of the road and lots of eateries in the town a short walk away
We followed the link to Google maps and got here fine! Safe quiet place to sleep for free overnight with a Londis at the bottom of the road for coffee in the morning! :) also 10 min walk from Lulworth Cove! Perfect placing :)
It's a good free parking along the road to walk to the cove and durdle door, but when we came on Friday midday, it was full, although it's quite long, many cars fit.
Please note that the photo with the red and grey van on it is NOT from this site but from the one in Kimmeridge 15 minutes away. We fell for that trap and were disappointed that this site here is just roadside parking on a hill.
Lovely stopover, plenty of space, wide enough even though a big double decker bus passes by in the daytime. Quiet and peaceful at night, the church bells aren’t too loud. A bit of a slope, so need to make sure you park to sleep the right way up! Easy stroll to Lulworth Cove. Handy Londis shop at the end of the road. Highly recommended, thank you to whoever first spotted this place.
Great place to stay. Peace and quiet with no one bothering you appart of church bells that you can eventually get used to. we stayed there for the night and will highly recommend.
Great little park up in a well used (quiet at night) Road. Some places are flatter than others. Great spot for visiting Lulworth cove and durdle Door. Shop at the end opens at 9am and shuts at 8pm. 24 hour toilets a short walk away. I suggest parking down from the church as the bells go off every 15 minutes all night. I parked just down the road and didn't hear a thing. Bins on roadside and shop
Lots of space both sides of the road, there were 3 other campers when we stayed. Very quiet, shop at the end of the road has fresh bread in the mornings and if you walk towards the cove there are public toilets
Great location walking distance to beach, quiet with no problems, few other campers their. Shop close by (Londis). Some parking spaces flatter than others but doesn’t bother us. Could hardly hear the church bells didn’t ruin it for us at all. Would return :)
Quiet apart from the church bells every 15 minutes. They go ALL NIGHT. The road is slanted downhill quite considerably. Other than that, it is picturesque, green, full of birds and trees, nearby Lulworth and Durdle Door. Just wish it was flat and those f***ing bells turned off at night. Someone have a word with the Church? I stopped hearing them the second night after disturbed night day 1.
Nice quiet spot in the village. It is busy during the day but not impossible to get a spot. 10 mins walk to cove. I did not hear any church bells. The road is steep but there are some flatter sections. Londis at the bottom is open until 8pm and the village hall next door has an outdoor tap that the post office staff kindly gave me permission to use.
Quiet loc 10mins to cove (on foot) want disturbed by church bells either would stay again
Only four or five spaces that are decent to sleep in but the locals seem to park on there, other spaces are overlooked by houses and u can’t sit outside and or talk normally, and probably 12% slant on mostly all spaces, the church bells every 15 mins is louder then you relise due to how quite it is there, ended up leaving within an hour and driving to another spot
Parking available further down also so plenty of room, bells weren’t too loud as I slept through them. Hill is annoying but bearable. Short walk to the cove and a bit longer to durdle door
Managed to snag a spot on Boxing day. No issues apart from the bells. Literally every 15 mins....
Parked by the church you do need chock Blocks. About half mile walk to Lulworth cove. You can hear the church clock bells through the night it didn’t bother us.
Good spot for the night. Free to stay. We stayed on chalks as on a slight hill. 30 min walk from Durdle door and 9 min walking to public toilets. Londis close by.
Great spot. Short walk from the beach. FREE For a sea view go to durdledoor parking area up the road. £20 for a night but an awesome view
That this spot was so close to two well known destinations is amazing and the nearby Londis was very handy, buuuut, the church bells kept me awake all night and because I never fell into a deep sleep the speeding cars going past woke me up too. Additionally, the smell of previous and present surrounding campers was very pungent, which was not nice.
Stayed here last night, couldn't hear the church bells? we were parked on an incline but was only very slight. very quiet and loads of spaces to park.
Stayed a night here, had a great nights sleep! Found the church bells quite nice, I’m a deep sleeper so didn’t disturb me. It’s not a flat spot but didn’t pose a problem. It’s a great location 5 minutes walk from Lulworth Cove. There was a lot of through traffic but it’s better than paying for the parking at the visitor centre. There is a shop at the end of the road which is a bonus. Does get busy during the day but no complaints!
Brilliant location for coastal walks, came here after seeing the £15 charge for the main car park. Space on both sides of the road, lots of stealth campers about. On a hill but it’s free and super practical!
Great little spot to visit Lulworth and a 30 min walk to Durdle door which saves £15 on parking. Church bell rings every 30 mins but it’s a very quick chime so it’s not annoying. 4G and EE signal was good. Road is fairly quiet and after 10pm there’s almost nothing until the morning. Slight slope but it’s fine with some levelling ramps. Would definitely park here again.
Polecam.
Its good the road is quite and the people are lovely around here but the bells start at the church by 5 so be ready to wake up early good for going for a walk to the door with no one around though!
Bit of a slope. The road is quiet after 10 until 7. There’s even 3 cornered leek growing around the corner along the church fence - handy for breakfast omelette. 15 minute walk to Lulworth- saves spending 15 quid on parking there.
Great spot close to the cove
Fine little Free PU. Slope but OK. Could not hear any church bells until 8.30am. One neibouring van. Durdle door campsite £20 to £35 depending on where you park.
Stayed here for the night and was very peaceful EXCEPT for the church bell ringing every 15 minutes. I finally managed to sleep gone 11pm and it was still going but it didn't wake me up which is good. I recommend maybe having earplugs if you are a light sleeper
Stayed here for the night. Very quiet, lots of space. Very pretty village and short walk to the beach. 4g is good. Church bells ring every 30mins but didnt stop a good nights sleep.
Great spot, loads of space if you get there at the right time of day (arriving either before 9am or after 5pm should be fine during peak season). You have a Londis shop at the bottom of the road for a good range of essentials and you’ll be very close to Lulworth Cove & Durdle Door etc. Only negative I can say is that the local church next to the road chimes it’s bells every 15 minutes throughout the day & night! I wonder why?! Would recommend taking earplugs :)
Wide road for lots of space both sides. Shop 50m down the road. Pub ~ 400m (great food). Lovely quiet little village, next to no traffic. Short walk to lulworth cove, and a little longer and fairly challenging, but doable walk to durdle door. Lovely little church next door. Two or three other vans overnight as well as us.
Wide road with parking on both sides in front of the local church. We drove in late in the evening, parked overnight and had no issues. It got really busy during the day, but we were out exploring Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door (both within walking distance!). There’s a Londis nearby if you need supplies.
Perfect place to park if you are visiting Durdle Door and free overnight if you are desperate. The clock chimes every 15 min quite loud and locals are not impressed with campers but no restrictions so it’s absolutely fine. Saving you £15 car park on the proper car park. It’s a busy spot during the day make sure you get there early or later to secure your space.
Stayed here 2 nights. Church clock chimes every 15 minutes so might bother some. One angry local honks his car horn at 6 AM every morning
Love this place on a hill but it's free
Great little spot and perfect for a walk to Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. Only half a mile to the main car park and worth it to save £15 (and you can’t stay overnight there anyway). Slightly sloped so not perfect. We spent one night and would recommend!
Great little area. Safe and within a small walk to the beach. Church clock goes off every hour but it was quiet enough for us not to really care. we stayed 2 nights with no problems.
