Long stay car park for all vehicle types. It is free from 6pm to 8am . Quite a few lorries here at the bottom end of the car park next to the canal. Free Elsan disposal point and water top up available at canal wharf.(British waterways key required for access to fresh water) shops/supermarkets in abundance with tourist information and toilets at top of car park . excellent park up level with plenty of light. supermarket about 5-10 minutes walk very handy for toilets. we did have to share with about ten lorries,some of which kept their engines running for a few hours probably to keep the cab warm. very quiet overnight we would definitely use again. Many thanks to Welshpool council for allowing responsible motorhome owners to stay.
ideal spot for town centre parking down by canal for about 7 campervan/motorhome, buf only 1 night stop over in 7 (2 nights would have been better) if over 3 tonnes £8.10 if done by phone app 8am to 6 pm. and free from 6pm till 8am cost less if under 3 tonne, thanks for allowing overnight stop overs.
Wir fanden den Platz nicht schön und sind weitergefahren, es waren 1 oder 2 Wohnmobile da und ca 15 große LKWs, es war wie ein Rastplatz mitten in der Stadt. Über Nacht ist der Platz kostenlos (6 pm bis 8 am)
We parked here yesterday and stayed for the night. It was quiet and close to local shops and other amenities. The location close to the canal is pleasant. Parking charges apply between 0800 and 1800. No overnight restrictions.
Good stop, a bit noisy due to trucks and in the middle of Welshpool, near the canal good walks for dog owners. Pubs, shops and toilets nearby. A good stop over
Arrived at around 4:30pm and parked at the bottom in the long bays. Saw 3 other motorhomes and then maybe 10 LGVs(who luckily just parked anywhere in the car park once the bays were full). Short walk into town. I also have a Canal and Rivers Trust key so emptied the cassette down at the canal wharf.
Just a car park in Welshpool so nothing special but very useful to have the water and waste disposal for free. Both are down by the canal near the bridge just off the bottom end of the car park near the lorry parking. Just over the canal is Tesco and Aldi. Quiet night even on Good Friday.
Good stop but note that it seems to be used a lot by HGVs in the week. Went to the other car park as it was so full.
Parked in the bays next to the canal and levelled up by putting 2 tyres on the kerb. 3 hours free daytime parking at big Tesco on the other side of the canal too. Black waste disposal (and accessible water tap at the moment) just down on the canal towpath - see last photo. Toilets in tourist info building near carpark entrance. Good pubs and fish and chips in town. Thankyou Powys County Council
Really good car park next to the town center, no services but free from 6pm and Sundays and holidays. All day 8 pounds. Really big to park our big Motorhome. Thanks to the town
Good free car park stopover (6-8am) but if u stay longer its £5 for extra 2 hours …. Can move on to tesco for 3 hours free! Plenty of flat spots with lovely walk along canal too
Massive car park, motor home friendly, right next to canal if you want to sit there with your morning coffee! Generally very quiet. Free from 6pm - 8am but day time parking is pricey.
Large car park, coach and hgv spaces, ev spaces and plenty of room for camper vans. £2.50 for 2 hours (press B on the ticket machine). Free from 6pm to 8am. Quiet and Slept well. 1 other CV and 1 MH there with us. So empty and don’t know why. Perfect spot near the canal, nice walk to see the ducks and swans.

had a nice stay in this carpark in the middle of welshpool,5 minutes walk into town were there's some nice shops/pubs and takeaways, not to noisy, the odd lorry going to work early but didn't really bother us
Was here overnight Friday 20/04/24. Good quiet nights rest despite being close to the road. Couple of hgv near....no other moho but us. Elson down by canal, take your own grey water to wash out. Very close to tesco b&m and aldi. Lovely little stop over nice walk places to visit.
Overnight allowed and free! Teens doing donuts, playing loud music and partying from their cars is apparently also allowed. We fell asleep eventually after two. Parking gets REALLY expensive after 8am, so it was a short night. If it wasn’t for the parking lot Party it would have been a good spot. No toilets that we could see. Though

Public toilets still closed. Very busy with big lorries overnight. Close to road. Other carpark near Morrisons is much better.

Stayed last night with three other camper vans. Nice spot, some traffic noise to quite late but not too bad given that it’s a large town.
Our second stay here and the council have resurfaced the car park, added planters and electric car charge points. All very smart and tidy. Nice work.
stayed here for 1 night overnight, parked up next to the canal beautiful spot. paid at 8am no issues.
Church St carpark is split in 2 half’s. One with the tourist info & public toilets. The other side across the road is next to the canal & if you have a canal trust key you can access water tap but chem waste doesn’t need key. Tesco on other side of canal & museum 5min walk along canal. 3/4 pubs 5/10 min walk & town center. Carpark £8 all day & free overnight but only allow overnights of 1 in 7
stayed 1 night, 6m campervan, no issues, quiet night. toilets were closed/renovation? ee phone and internet signal good, tv reception good.
