Lovely peaceful spot. Can walk into Doonbeg from here too (about 2km away)

A very quiet spot with lovely views. We slept well here, despite gale force winds and waves of heavy rain. There is a tap, as mentioned, but it has an old hose attached and is obviously for washing down boats. I wouldn’t use it to fill up!

Was will man mehr. Keine Entsorgungsmöglichkeiten, also bitte alles sauber verlassen!

We had a great experience here, parking in the main pier car park overlooking the picnic benches. We were alone, and had a lovely quiet night. An unexpected treat was the purchase of a live lobster from Tommy, the lobster man! A fantastic size and all for €20. Tommy works off the pier and sells to locals in the car park. We asked and he went out and got us one especially!

Exposed in strong winds. Check water quality before filling up. It tasted ok but was brown, not too good if you use it for drinking. Very blustery night but other than that, lovely place to wake up.

Nice spot! Has been resurfaced so no mud! Really quiet even on the weekend. Filled up on water and stayed a couple nights with no issue.

Great view if you like a coastline. I'm not sure why people complain about the view. When the tide is in, a lovely, watery bay view. When it's out rocks and seaweed, it's a coast!!! Also a view of the Dunnmore castle ruin. We stayed in the layby 2 others stayed in the car park. Very quiet night.

Safe quiet overnight stop, plenty of room. We stayed with one other camper, not the prettiest of stopovers but free of charge with no restrictions.

  • 4/5

Perfectly fine as others have said - the lay-bye just before the actual port. Lots of large rocks so not the prettiest for longer stays, we stopped for a quick lunch and moved on but at the lay bye it looks OK if you were to spend the night.

Small fishing harbour, away from the village. Feels safe, and is level. The coastline isn’t pretty but this would be a good place to overnight. If you want to buy good fish, 3 kms north of Doonburg is a great little fish shop.

Not sure if this original post referred to the pier itself or lay-by just before it? The pier has CCTV cameras all along it. We stayed in the lay-by. It was on rough stones and there is a mobile home directly behind it (it was empty when we stayed). It was quiet all night with little traffic. No facilities. I would use again but it's not for those wanting amazing scenery / surroundings.

Great spot with little cars passing. We stayed here with two other vans the other night. Perfect!

  • 5/5

Another perfect place to park up for the night. Beautiful views. Room for at least 6 vans and fairly flat.
