Paid £12.xx (coach/camper ticket) on Saturday evening at 6pm, ticket lasted until 6pm Sunday due to reduced rate Sunday. Small sign at the entrance saying suitable for camper vans, you have to pay the coach rate but cheap enough. A few lorries leaving during the night which makes some noise but other than that, undisturbed.
Very good for the town centre. We actually stayed in the carpark because we are in a VW T2 and could fit under the height restriction (just - no pop top) the coach park was full of coaches when we arrived and trucks when they left. We stayed on a Thursday and it was noisy until midnight with traffic and people using the carpark. The toilets were under construction and out of action (August 2025)
This is a great place, very close to the town centre for the attractions of Buxton. The entrance is in Bakewell Rd, not the car park entrance, which has height barriers. Co-ordinates for the entrance are 53.259019,-1.906266. Charges have gone up during the day to £6.30 for 4 hours, or £12.20 for over 4 hours.
Stayed here on a Saturday night in the coach park, pretty quiet considering it’s next to a road, parked in the corner out the way. Charges only apply 8-6 so free for us we were gone by 7am. Toilets were open and good condition, and there’s a spoons across the road, which I could use the WiFi from the car park! Would recommend for an easy park up.
very misleading postcode for stopover. Large space but extremely loud.
Motorhomes are allowed to park here as indicated on the signs. Paid for 24 hours parking £10.25. The truck/ coach park has different rates to the car park. Was pretty noisy but didn’t bother us. Very handy for town centre of Buxton. Will definitely use again if visiting Buxton.
Very concerning my first visit here and yes this place is the noisiest place you will ever park but more worrying is it saying you can park your motorhome and also free between was it 8pm-6am when that isn’t the case at in, in fact motorhomes aren’t allowed to stop Overnight it’s trucks only so why’s it even on here ?
Stayed on a Friday night, noisy with buses, hgv, ambulance etcetera, until midnight, then it started at 04.30 again!,not a peaceful place. Moved at 06.30 to free parking adjacent Pavilion Gardens, it was very quiet there and free.
Toilets closed due to vandalism and they are never open after 7pm. The space itself seems fine and there's a wetherspoons nearby open until 1am tonight so I will have a loo to use.
Good large area for parking at back of carpark, different entrance though as other has height barrier. Flattish (we used chocks on front), quietish (near road). Free from 7pm to 8am. Good 4G (EE and Vodaphone) Good for small walk into main town area, lots of shops, bars, restaurants etc. Two takeaways across road from park up. Will definitely stay again!
Great spot. Free parking over night. Room for a few campers. Close to a roundabout so traffic noise. Stayed on a bank holiday Sunday, arrived at 7pm already 3 other motorhomes but still plenty of space. Close to a few pubs. We are at the railway pub, great meal.
Excellent stop over. We had a surprisingly good sleep with minimal interruptions, close to shops. Public toilets not very nice but can’t complain about a free park up. No charge from 6pm-8am. Would use again.
Parked for 24 hours including overnight stop. Very close to town centre and shops. Wetherspoons on doorstep for food. Public toilets in car park. Slightly noisy road noise but position is great for exploring the town
Place is fine a bit noisy but can live with it ,the Thai Delight takeaway about 200 yds away we’ll recommend very nice
it suited its purpose for day time usage but didn’t feel comfortable at night, due to being near a very busy road and local clientele.
if you would like to stop somewhere you can sleep dont stop here !!! trust me you will definitely not sleep thought I was on a winner right nxt too a wetherspoons turns out iam nxt too the busiest roundabout in the high peaks.
Theres another smaller carpark with similar terms but only 6m bays so only suitable for smaller motorhomes like T4's at the next roundabout next to 'The Railway at Buxton' pub. only 3 mins walk to spoons for breakfast. Goods vehicles not allowed so a bit quieter full 4g
Much nicer places to stay around here. But if you just need somewhere to stay then it’s fine. Good if you’re enjoying a few drinks and don’t want to drive home.
Handy location but you need to pay with coins as no facility to pay by card or phone. 4 hours £5.40
There is a height restriction for most of the carpark (see picture).. but it is possible to get in straight off the roundabout with care.
Nothing to get excited about. However. Means to an end. Decent place to walk the dogs. Chip shop and Aldi on the door step. Spoons breakfast across the road. Free parking as the machine wasn’t working. Win win situation. Don’t get me wrong you’ve got main through road traffic and trains all night...but some beautiful scenery.
Good as a last resort. Under a train track and next to a busy main road road, truck stop also so expect to be woken up at 6.30am. Shyte tbh
Decent stopover in Buxton, parking machine is coins only, and then the ticket came out dodgy so didn't realise it had printed! Fee was for 8hrs parking so ours ran out at midnight but had no bother. Wetherspoons just opposite for toilets and public toilets next to the carpark.
