A place absolutely worth the visit if you’re going to or coming from Askja. Stunning setting and great restaurant with excellent food.

Good views. Nice grounds. Only 2 or 3 showers for entire campground. 2890 ISK for 1 adult with hot shower and unlimited time. A few little flies at night. Moderate LTE cell service. I would stay again.

Site très beau mais services exécrables (mais personnel sympathique) : douches payantes et froides (et seulement 2 douches pour tout le parking) , 1 seul wc chez les hommes, cuisine/salle à manger minuscule et sans eau chaude non plus. Mais comme c’est le seul camping à la ronde, pas le choix ….

Le cadre est super. Les sanitaires sont communs avec le restaurant donc beaucoup de passage, pas d'eau chaude aux lavabos, mais aux chaudes aux douches. Prix 5400 ISK pour deux personnes, un van, deux douches et pas d'électricité.

Camping sympathique avant escale pour Askja. Eau très froide au lavabo mais douche chaude !

Assez vaste et herbeux. On peut se garer comme on veut, pas d’espaces délimités ce qui est plus naturel et agréable. Joliment agencé. Très belles vues. Malheureusement trop peu de prises électriques, douches et WC payants ce qui est exagéré. Salon confortable dans le café du camping. Pas mal de monde à partir de 18h mais ça reste raisonnable. Possibilité de faire le plein d’eau en face.

Ein sehr schöner und mit viel Liebe aufgebauter Campingplatz. Wir waren mit zwei 9 m langen Wohnmobilen dort und würden jederzeit wieder dorthin fahren (und ja der Platz ist uneben aber die Wiese ist fest und man hat keine Probleme dort zu parken). Der Empfang war sehr freundlich und alles war sehr sauber. Einer der schönsten Campingplätze unserer Reise.

This is one of the best campings we found in Iceland. The place is beautiful, the staff is nice, and there is even a breakfast between 7AM-10AM. The main issue is the showers: there are only three for the entire place, and there is clearly not enough warm water to sustain all three at the same time. Expect a 20min wait for a lukewarm shower.

Sin duda, el mejor recuerdo que me llevo de Islandia, pasar una noche en este camping. En la web ponía que abría a partir de junio, pero fuimos el día 21/5 y estaba abierto. Camping completamente equipado con duchas, servicios y hasta una cafetería muy agradable. Todo limpio y los detalles cuidados. La luz del atardecer es preciosa allí. Y además, muy buen precio.

La meilleure expérience camping de l’islande !! Un camping à part, magnifique, qui a un énorme charme. L’accueil est très chaleureux et se fait au restaurant d’à côté qui propose d’ailleurs un excellent petit déjeuner (buffet à volonté) pour 3290isk par personne. Je recommande vivement !!

Accueil sympathique, emplacement au milieu de la pleine avec vue sur les montagnes. Le restaurant est très très bon. Attention pas de cuisine ni d’emplacement de substitution et pas d’eau chaude le matin… 5080isk pour 2 adultes en motorhome avec électricité

Sympa et mignon mais juste un grand champs et des maisonnettes, charmant mais pas utile, nous avions fait 1h30 de détour pour vidanger wc eaux grises et faire le plein d eau et aucun n a été possible… vue très sympa et très venteux, mal dormi.

Really great camping, you pay at the restaurant next the camping before entering, it is also possible to have diner or breakfast at the restaurant. 2 showers available, not very clean. Lots of toilets those were clean. We did see the northern lights here at 02:00, the only night without clouds during our stay in Iceland!

Great location, far away from everything ;) You can feel the vibe of this place. Cousy restaurant next to the camping. Unfortunately, poor toilets and no shower. The place needs somebody who could take care of it.

Sehr große Bucklige Wiese im nirgendwo, ein kleine Hütte mit Grasdach mit Kochgelegenheit und ein paar Sitzplätzen, 3 Toiletten, 2 duschen (mit Münzeinwurf) Wunderbare Atmosphäre Restaurant, in dem auch die Rezeption ist, dort kann man auch als Camper für 2190 isk frühstücken

Schön gelegener Platz, überfüllt und laut durch bis zum frühen Morgen 03:00 Uhr Anreisende. Diverse Reisebusladungen bevölkern die Toiletten.

Schöner Campingplatz, mit viele Freizeit angeboten. Küche vorhanden und ganz okay.

Price was 1790 pp and 333 tax. Really beautiful camping and environment, but only 2 wc for everybody, very, very few for so many people. That means they are not clean. Only 2 sinks outside the wc, but only 1 working, and no soap. Kitchen available with stoves and a sink. With a little bit of care, it would be an amazing camping.

Really nice camping, BUT would not advice it on cold days with a tent. We stayed there at 1°C, there is no heating on the camping area only in the lobby. Must be really nice in warm weather! Also goats has goats

super camping perdu au milieu de rien, prix raisonnable pour le service (salle commune, sanitaire) restaurant avec bar douche payante mais pas limitée en temps vu à 360 je recommande

Les hautes terres non pas encore ouvertes et vous rêvez de grands espaces? Les plus : la vue sur les montagnes, le village pittoresque, le resto assez standard en terme alimentaire mais le cadre est très très cosy. Les moins : assez rustique en terme de sanitaires et cuisine, mais avec douches chaudes et gaz fonctionnel. Le plus beau site de camping qu’on ait fait lors de notre séjour en Islande.

Amplio, con una “cocina” pero no tiene agua, no la usé. baños y duchas incluidas. El entorno es bonito.

Endroit magnifique prestations nulles... douche fermée, passage toilette 100isk.... reception vraiment pas avenante 3100 isk pour 2 personnes en combi vw sans elect. pour un parking devant l'auberge..!!!

Der Campingplatz ist teilweise offen. Der Kommentar des vorigen Verfassers ist falsch. Es ist Mai. Auf dem eigentlichen CP liegt noch Schnee. Man darf sich aber auf die nicht befahrene Straße oder auf die Parkplätze am Kaffee stellen. Strom ist teilweise verfügbar. Die Dusche wird heute renoviert und steht daher nicht zur Verfügung. Die Küche steht heute auch nicht zur Verfügung. Vermutlich geht es hier erst Ende Mai richtig los. Aber es gibt hier definitiv einen CP.

Amazing view from the camping! Most of the facilities were closed because we were in May but we had access to the wc and shower, and could plug the camping car to the electricity. You can access the restaurant of the hotel and enjoy their breakfast and good pastries.

Fuimos en abril estaba todo cubierto de muchísima nieve. se nos hizo tarde y teníamos como destino este lugar que ponía que abría todo el año y al final tuvimos que dormir en un monte cerca del pueblo... porque el siguiente camping estaba a otra hora y media de camino

We stayed here for one night and it was amazing. Due to the ice,snow/cold the “camp” area was closed but we were told to park up by the guest house and that we could use the kitchen, toilet and lounge area. We were greeted warmly and would come here again

Preciosas vistas, todo bien cuidado, muy buen precio y adorables zorros del Ártico y ovejas dentro del camping. Recomendable!!

Zufahrt über 6km Schotterstrasse. Die Wiese ist gross, aber leider sehr uneben, es ist nicht schwer sich festzufahren. Als wir dann von Schwärmen von Mücken begrüßt wurden, haben wir ganz schnell die Flucht ergriffen.

Terrain pas très plat, petite cabane/cuisine avec plaques à gaz (mais pas de quoi les allumer) bien fournie en poêles et casseroles, pas éclairée. Toilettes propres mais 100isk demandés, douches en supplément 500isk. Pour faire charger un téléphone, il vous faudra consommer au restaurant (650isk le chocolat chaud, plutôt bon). Prend la camping card. Il y a du monde ! (et des enfants).

Wonderful camping, strategic for excursions to the Viti Crater. Warm showers, nice buffet breakfast and dinner à la carte with typical food. Nice tables outside in the sun. Very quiet during the night. Good Wi-Fi in the building and toilets. 4 stars because of the cold water of the toilet sinks and no hand towels during the day (staff could check more often). But we liked it and stayed 2 nights!

Très très bel emplacement, vue magnifique, bar/restaurant très chaleureux. Certes les douches et toilettes pourraient un brin plus propre mais on a vu franchement pire. Beaucoup de charme !!

Positiv: Sehr schöner grosser Campingplatz mit Möglichkeiten zum Abendessen und Frühstück. Preis pro Person ISK 1‘590 Negativ: Sanitären Einrichtungen sehr primitiv, kalt und ungepflegt. Reinigung wäre mal dringend notwendig. Überall nur kaltes Wasser.

schöner Camping Platz, etwas ab von der Route 1. Restaurant bietet Abends Menü (sehr lecker) , Morgens Buffet an (nicht in Anspruch genommen). Leider nur 2 Duschen.

Wahnsinns Aussicht und sehr schön gestaltet, Essen im Restaurant möglich. Schöner natürlicher Platz mit freier Platzwahl. Facilities zweckmäßig.

Schlimmste camping gegenüber anderen. Toilette muss man mit Busturisten teilen, die im 9 ankommen und den ganzen Tag kommen bis spät Abend. Keine Zeit in der Reception für Camper, alles bewegt um Busgäste. Kalte spülen der Geschierre, 2 kleine Dusche, man kommt nie rein. Am abend voll, aber jele steht wo will. Einzigste pisitiv Ist Gegend. Niemals wieder

Camping agréable avec une belle vue à 360 degrés. La piste depuis la N1 sur 6 km est facile. Site bien placé pour aller à Askja en 4x4. Restaurant à proximité avec produits de la ferme. Bon accueil. Accepte la Campingcard.

The worst camping we've been to! nothing works! cold water, no soap and they didn t refill and also broken, 2 showers both of them don't work! terrible terrain in the campground and useless facilities! the cheapest toilet paper and cold water for everything! terrible road that comes directly from the asphalt with no warning and 6 km of gravel road to the village, after that another bit of good road, what s the point? you invest in design but not in facilities? i regret staying here, if i had any options closer, i would of left in the middle of the night just to get a crappy shower after a long day! 200 isk for 3 min here but doesnt work ! horrible! i don't get how people rate this place high! have you seen the other campsites??

Wunderschöner Campingplatz! Die Besitzer sind sehr freundlich und man kann super lecker im Restaurant essen. Toiletten, warme Dusche und eine Küche sind auch vorhanden. Wir würden jedem empfehlen eine Nacht hier zu verbringen!

Très bel environnement, accueil chaleureux, cet endroit est vraiment réconfortant après la route désertique !

Très joli camping avec large espace en herbe. Au calme, superbe vue sur les montagnes alentour. Possibilité de manger au restaurant attenant (très correct) voire reserver une chambre. WC corrects. Douche chaude pour 200 les 3 minutes avec un petit chauffage pour la pièce. Bémol, la propreté de la douche mal éclairée laisse à désirer.

Camping magnifique. Sensation de bout du monde. Beaucoup de place mais terrain très vallonné. Cuisine rustique mais bien équipée (piano au gaz: prévoir son feu) mais très froide et mal éclairé. Douche payante en pièce de 100ISK (change possible à l’accueil du resto). S’il fait beau couché de soleil incroyable. Animaux dans les environs. 3180 ISK pour 2.

no hay agua caliente ni en el lavabo ni en el fregadero (salía helada). Como nos comentaron que en la ducha tampoco, no nos duchamos. En el wc de los chicos hay sólo 1 váter, 3 en el de chicas. No hay lavadora ni zona común para cocinar. Eso sí, el entorno bonito. Encima pudimos ver una aurora boreal!

Beautiful location with views over the highlands. Large uneven meadow for camping, but possible to find a flat spot. Turf-rooved facilities buildings are a nice touch. Paying shower (100 ISK coins) in block next to restaurant, with toilets. (Payment for toilets is only if you are a tourist passing through.) Toilet disposal (at far east end of site), grey water disposal outside petrol pump hut.

Nach längerer Fahrt über eine Schotterpiste sieht man diesen süßen Ort inkl. Kirche. Campingplatz, Restaurant und die sonstigen Unterkünfte sind als urige isländische Holzhütten gebaut. Wir wurden herzlich begrüßt und haben lecker im Restaurant gegessen. Der Platz kann sicher glitschigen sein- wir haben aber alles trocken vorgefunden.

Kemping trawiasty bardzo nierówny. Dojazd drogą szutrową 6,5 km z drogi głównej nr 1. 3 skrzynki prądowe dla 9 podłączeń. Jedno WC z zimną wodą na zewnątrz. Brak możliwości uzupełnienia czystej wody. Możliwość opróżnienia tylko kasety. Płatność karta lub gotówka przed wjazdem na kemping w restauracji. Ogólnie słabe warunki socjalne.

Nous avons dormi sur le parking du restaurant car il avait neigé et les emplacements étaient inaccessibles. Nous n’avons vu ni de cuisine ni de douches. Les WC sont propres et la cuisine du restaurant pas mal. Évitez en revanche de commander une boisson chaude car ils vous donnent une tasse et vous pointent du doigt la machine. Odeur à nourriture très forte et désagréable.

Heel mooie camping, top locatie. Pas op restaurant aan de dure kant.

Camping dans un environnement charmant. 2 renards polaires sont apprivoisés et vivent sur le terrain. Si vous êtes chanceux vous pourrez les observer. Il y a une cuisine commune et un espace pour manger mais c'est très sombre. Toilettes propres, nous n'avons pas trouvé les douches.

Traumhafte Lage und der perfekte Start ins Hochland. Die Anlage ist liebevoll gestaltet. Leider 1 Stern Abzug weil nur 1 Dusche funktionierte, in den Waschräumen kein Spiegel ist und es nur kaltes Wasser in Waschraum und Küche gab. Die Toiletten waren sauber und der Platz ist an vielen Stellen eben, es gibt keine festen Parzellen. Camping Card wird akzeptiert.

Super Platz. Sehr nette Mitarbeiter. Alles sehr liebevoll hergerichtet. Die Lage und der Ausblick sind super.

Toilets are dirty and they even ask 100 isk for using. only cold water everywhere, except the restaurant toilet. the wifi is barely functional outside. when we were there the whole place was unorganised, like a construction site.

Großes Wiesengelände mit tollen Ausblicken bis hin zur Herdubreid. Nur kaltes Wasser. Küche in Hütte mit Wiesendach. Uriges Restaurant mit kostenlosen WLAN. Viel Betrieb, wenn die Fähre von Dänemark anlegt.

Camping très agréable. Douche payante. Cuisine commune avec gaz et évier. Fonctionne avec la carte campings Islande.
