It’s a small car park next to the church, used by hikers until late and from early. I managed to get mostly level in a 7m van, slept like a baby to the sound of the very vocal sheep in the area. Beautiful walk down to the lake and waterfall. Skye Farm cafe was beaut, dog friendly, good food and good coffee!

Ok for day parking, too sloppy for the night.

Great place for a night! amazing views, close to the lake and the tiny village with few pubs. no signal at all but still highly recommend!

Great spot, great views, spent a peaceful night there

A lovely spot, if you can get in! It's just a small gravel parking area, not a field as stated above, very popular with walkers. We've just spent 2 peaceful nights here and managed to get a prime spot with wonderful views. The 2 local pubs are good and there's also a couple of Cafes that we didn't try. both popular.

Lovely camp spot. 4 or so vans when I got there at 6pm last night, dozens of cars when I woke up this morning. No one bothered me and felt very safe, two nice pubs and a cafe below with good walking routes all around

Nice spot, busy during the day. Quieter after 7pm and more space to stay over night. A little windy but dark and hardly any traffic, apart from the occasional sheep. Great for early start and plenty of walks. 2pubs and public toilets 100m away

Views unbelievable! We parked slightly further up the hill in a level spot. Lots of walkers about in the morning but quiet in the night. Short walk to lake and little cafes and a pub. Gorgeous journey there along the Honiston Pass.

Magical place, a pure heaven with absolutely no sound except for the river and the sheep. I am a woman travelling alone and I felt very safe staying there. Two things to know before going though: absolutely no service (go to Buttermere village for that) + the road that goes through Low Lorton is way easier than the other one, which is quite narrow and very steep. If you are easily scared when driving I would not recommend taking it esp. if it’s raining
