Restaurant a 100 yards

Picnic area with roadside table right by the ocean. Flat, quiet but windy. Campervans covered with canvas refrain. The road is a dead end for access to the ferry. To test at night but seems to me possible. Restaurant 100 yards

Loving this little gem of a spot. Close to the Greencastle ferry crossing, near an excellent bar & restaurant (walking distance), and a lovely beach. Can't get a decent UK mobile network, but decent roaming available from Donegal. Parking it a bit ropey, but it is possible to get close to level, just keep the main track free as it's a drive though road.

As previously said very quiet spot as its the end of the road! Ferry begins on 15th April. The Point Inn does good food in large portions , was very busy on Saturday night. A few other vans stayed. It got bit wet and windy for a while but a good place to sleep well.

Dirt lay-by just before ferry port. Very quiet in March before ferry starts the season at Easter. Only 1 car passed after 6pm. No facilities at all. Very uneven & I imagine very messy when wet. Room for 5 or 6 camper or caravans. Beautiful view across lough from Derry to Greencastle. Wonderful golden beach from ferry port as far as the eye can see around the very well preserved Martello Tower.

What a corker! Gorgeous view, great phone signal and quiet at night. What more could you ask for?!

tolle Aussicht, direkt am Wasser. Windig gewesen.

Nuit tranquille.

I had a really peaceful night here, ground is uneven & takes a bit of moving around to get level but doable. Couple of others in the area too although no one on top of each other. Very quiet after 6pm even on a Saturday. Good signal on 3/SMARTY. Felt safe as solo female. Bins available - if you’re getting the ferry to the republic, make sure you dispose of your waste here as bins there are SPARCE!

A great spot with a number of places to choose from on the grass verges by side of the road overlooking the Lough to Donegal. Very peaceful night! Beautiful view. Close to a Bar & Restaurant if needed.

A few campers around but lovely and quiet, benches with BBQs built in, pub nearby and the Foyle Ferry only a few hundred metres away.

Beautiful quiet spot, arrived in time for the beautiful sunset. Set back from the road in between the dunes. A few other motorhomes dotted along the way, but barely any traffic passing. Perfect spot, would definitely return. Each spot seemed to have a picnic bench, bin, and brick built bbq

Hele mooie plek. Top.

stayed in mid June, perfect place for enjoying the sunset. Point Bar about 250m away is very good. So peaceful.

Loved this spot to overnight. Quite a lot of traffic whilst ferries running till 6.30pm but evening was quiet. Lovely views over Lough and great and private place to sit out in the sun and relax. Recommend

A recommander

An amazing park up, lots of little spots tucked away in the bank to have to yourselves. it is on the side of a road but it's quiet during the evenings and it's only traffic for the ferry during the day. must stay!

Stayed overnight as did about 8 other campers. Parking areas at the side of the road or in behind the dunes. No toilets but some picnic tables available. Plenty of bins near the pub so please use them.

  • 5/5

Hardcore surface for parking and 2 picnic benches with an brick bbq area. Benches and bbq sheltered by dunes. As long as yo is it behind dune you can look out over the lough without the wind hitting you. Great spot and very quiet.

Magilligan Point with ferry to Greencastle, Donegal in season. Excellent food at The Point restaurant and bar - more parking available past the bar just beyond Martello Tower. No facilities but toilets available in bar. Lovely beach walk and views ! Do not walk beach when red flags are flying as it is part of army firing range !

Perfect for overnight. Calm and cosy.
