Beautiful spot, a couple of other campers here, traffic noise was quite bad. Both from a nearby road and several cars and lorries passing right beside where you are parked throughout the night. But we live in a very small village with no traffic noise at night, so we’re not used to it. Felt safe though and would stay again, and you’re parked under some lovely weeping willows. So very pretty.

Really nice little park up at the side of a river down a quiet road. Stayed with 1x other campervan and traffic noise was minimal.

  • 5/5

Lovely little lay-by at the end of a road. Peaceful. Not much passing traffic. Well recommend this little spot I will definitely be coming back here. Lovley

If coming from the East, Havant rd it says dead end but this is the best way to get to the spot. At the end where the road is stopped there's a turning spot and a lay-by to park at. Our satnav took us to the 286 where if your coming from Chichester direction is a sharp right turn that you will have to shunt around. It is busy with through traffic from early morning until late at night.

Really beautiful setting. We parked parallel to the green so our little one could play and we could charge the solar. No issues. The only van there. Some traffic not too bad. Only 1 or 2 bars of signal but we managed.

There are new signs up but I contacted West Sussex county council on the legitimacy of these signs and I was informed a Parish Council cannot put into force parking restrictions on a public highway only West Sussex council can via the highways department and these signs look like they were made by a 12 year old …update the signs have been removed

Unfortunately, this location is no longer permitted for overnight stays. This is the result of people leaving their rubbish by the beautiful chalkstream, which has led to the best campervan spot in the Chichester area now being completely off-limits. Chichester Council has put up signs banning overnight stays in this area

  • 5/5

The perfect stop over for visiting local pubs or for going into Chichester. Stayed one night and joined by one other van in the lay by. Quiet through the night with cars passing by fairly early at around 7am on a Sunday. Definitely recommend.

  • 4/5

Great spot under Willow trees on river bank. River was empty. Road noise quiet from 7pm to 6 am. Nice pub two minute walk and very peaceful location. Two other vans arrived , room for 4 . Great nights sleep .

  • 3/5

Good park up for next day visit to Chichester. Arrived 8.30pm and left 7.30am so no impact on the locals. Two other vans but plenty of room. Great chip shop at garage site 1.6k away. Pub looked good but obviously unable to drink alcohol so gave it a miss. No noise issues just a couple of cars passing after 6.00am. Felt safe and slept well. Good place to walk your dog around the green.

Wonderful. Quiet. Not too close to the residential area. Everything everybody else said- lovely fields, lovely village. Traffic did start quite early but I think it’s noticeable because it’s so quiet. 2 other cans when we arrived. Space for us all

  • 4/5

Nice place, but noisy trafic all night

  • 5/5

a real gem, small but safe and peaceful. coop only 1 mile away

  • 4/5

Quiet night but road noise from 5.45 am, we stayed in a Thursday night and it was busy on Friday morning. Lay-by is set back a bit from the road so felt safe from passing traffic

Lugar muito bonito! Tranquilo. passamos uma ótima noite. Mas não dou mais estrelas porque não tem serviços.

  • 5/5

just lovely we had the pleasure of being the only people here and what a great view to wake up to

  • 5/5

Breath taking landscape as you park right next to the river Lavant. Not a lot of spaces but, just one more van parked up when I arrived. PROS: The sound of the river was calming and relaxing. CONS: The adjacent road can be a bit noisy sometimes.

  • 5/5

    Great Park up highly recommended

  • 5/5

Great location, pub few minutes away. lively walks for our dogs. Quite road, one way traffic, very peaceful. Would definitely stay here again.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Stayed here for a night, lovely spot close to river, some traffic noise in the morning but didn’t bother us, walked following public footpath wow what a walk! Just cut across from the pond and up the field to pub is quickest way! Stopped for coffee outside with dogs lovely pub serving wonderful food, would stop again.

  • 4/5

great place to park up. off the main road. next to a river. plenty of space for 6-7 campers. few cars going past at night. You feel nicely out the way. overall great place and felt safe.

  • 4/5

Nice stopover spot, arrived at dusk and left at dawn so didn't see much of the surrounding area but was nice having the stream there. Occasional noise from passing cars but it didn't bother me.

  • 5/5

Nice spot even for a big MoHo. Carefully does it driving under the willow trees if you are tall. Ignore the 6’6” signs. Load of space but don’t take the turning right from Chichester as it won’t work. Go past the turning to the garage and turn round would be my advice.

  • 2/5

Pretty but really NOISY with cars zooming past from 6.45 and rocking the van. Trying to pretend it's the sound of the waves crashing against the shore. It's not the sound of the waves crashing against the shore, it's 1000 cars driving to work at 60mph listening to their radios on 1million decibels.

  • 5/5

    lovely place.

  • 4/5

Perfect spot under the willow trees, had to use Google Maps to find Sheepwash Lane because my Garmin gps didn't recognise it. No problem driving slowly under the trees, our MH is 3.25m high.

  • 5/5

Really nice green place to park and stay the night, with a small path too the pub/cafe where they have food and drinks and a nice fire outside to sit by.

  • 5/5

Nice spot for a stopover - choice of pubs within a few mins walk.

  • 5/5

lovely peaceful stop over. only stayed for 1 night but was lovely and quite.

  • 5/5

Lovely quiet spot. A few other vans also using. Felt really safe, not bothered at all.

  • 5/5

Busy during day quiet overnight, nice settling and 4G on EE. Careful of the low hanging willow trees!!

  • 4/5

Limited space but very pretty spot. Nice and cool under the trees and by the river on a hot day. Poor Internet signal

  • 5/5

Very quiet, some cars passed by. Had a great night's sleep.

  • 5/5

Great spot quiet, pretty and feels safe. Perfect park over after exploring Kingly Vale.

  • 5/5

Our first wild camping night and this spot was very quiet and seemed safe, 4 other vans turned up after us too. No problems at all

  • 5/5

Morgens wirklich sehr laut aber in der Nacht war es unglaublich ruhig. Ein schöner Platz für eine Nacht…

  • 3/5

Great spot for taking the bikes on the centurion way. Stream completely dried up. Quite busy with constant traffic.

  • 5/5

nice quiet spot in the layby only, not down by the cricket pitch that's for car's to park rubbish bin are also at the cricket pitch. One pub is just at the top of the hill with and the other is just over the little bridge on the left past the church.Co-op petrol station is 5mins down the road ,and there's some great walks up to the South downs and Goodwood when parked on your left.

  • 5/5

Had a lovely nights stay here, we were the only ones under the willow tree. Nice and quiet, no one taking pictures or knocking on our van at all. No toilets obviously but two lovely pubs about a 5 and 10 minute walk away, which were amazing. Definitely would recommend.

  • 4/5

stayed Jan 2022 ,nice spot next to river, in a layby on one way road. warning sign saying 6ft 6inch max but I went down in citroen relay enterprise and others of similar size there also. 4 vans in total. very sharp turn in if you approach with the turn on your right, approach other way. quite a fast road, traffic heaviest 7am -7pm ish. quiet night. ee phone/ internet and tv reception.

  • 4/5

Great sport. Try & avoid any concker trees the noise is scary. Quiet night & other campers there too. I was in my car so no issues. There is traffic noise during the day. The river is empty due to the summer. It is opposite the village green & there are lots of dog walkers. There isn't any street lighting, torch is a must. There are plenty of walks nearby. 2 local pubs a quaint little church.

  • 3/5

We stayed one night arriving after 6pm. There were 3 or 4 other vans. Lay-by is used by cars too. A man walked by apparently taking photos of number plates. Not sure what his intention was and he did not return. Useful spot for an overnight stay and very quiet. Road gets noisy in the morning.

  • 4/5

Just need to watch out for the low hanging willow trees, 3 other cans at the top last night but plenty of space and we left it tidy. Some road noise but not drastic and a good spot. Thanks

  • 5/5

Nice spot a little traffic noise but to be expected.

  • 5/5

Parked in the lay-by under the willow trees, some cars passing but flat and good location. 2 other campers there for the night.

  • 5/5

Lovely spot in a quiet village. Tight turn to get into the road but undisturbed night, friendly locals and lots of bridleways for dog walks

  • 5/5

Super convenient for cycling into Chichester along the adjacent NCR88. Also head north 4miles to Weald and Downland museum. Room for 4/5mohos. The road carries traffic into this small village, but is pretty quiet after 10pm.

  • 5/5

Good spot. Parallel parking along the road next to green or we found this parking bay furthe up the road before start of one way system. Traffic noise but great place to spend evening and night. Nice walks to relax before sleeping.
