More likely to get a spot here if everywhere south is full but not the most scenic! The trees slightly quieten some of the road noise.

ChloeB61101/01/2026Parking in a large lay-by set back a bit away from the road, can still hear some road noise but the road was quiet overnight. Right next to the Loch with beautiful views but lots of rubbish everywhere and quite a few potholes, but relatively flat and space for maybe 5 vans

Fine for a night. Sheltered by trees however still right by the street so lots of noise although it died down during the night. You can go down to the Loch and enjoy a wonderful view. In the morning the place filled up with cars that used it as a day parking spot. Couldn’t smell any Urin.
chloe39025/04/2025Pas vraiment un parking mais une petite zone entre la route et le lac. Il y a un panneau « no entry » a l’entrée du coup nous avons hésité. Bien fréquenté pour des pauses pipi des gens qui circulent sur la route. Pas top mais arrangeant pour une nuit.
Mudassar13/11/2024Great stop over for 1 night here. Very close to the Loch and a lovely walk. Very quiet in the night. Set back from the road with trees in between. A bin for rubbish but nothing else.

barna.jardany22/06/2023If you had enough of the unbookable Loch Lomond NP motorhome places, these layby's are an acceptable alternative for an overnight stop. Not dirtier, noisier or smellier than any other layby.

Es riecht stark nach Urin, wenn man runter Richtung See geht, da wohl viele die Böschung nutzen, um ihr Geschäft zu verrichten. Ab ca. 22 Uhr bis ca. 5 Uhr morgens fand ich es ruhig. Ansonsten hört man die Autos. Habe mich auf dem Platz nicht wohl gefühlt, sondern unsicher (Frau alleine unterwegs), würde hier nicht noch Mal schlafen, war eine Notlösung. das nächste Mal lieber ein Campingplatz.

Used this lay-by a few times as its more in from the road than a few. Can be a bit loaded with rubbish but ideal for a little stopover. Can walk down to a couple little spots by the loch too. Main road can be noisey if that bothers you but I've stayed a few times and not had any bother.

Stank of p*ss as every passer by uses it! very noisy with boy racers , motorbikes and lorries thundering past as it's a fairly straight fast part of the road. we were too tired to keep looking for a better spot but we would not use this one again!

Ideal place for a overnight stopover,
Peakbagger01/08/2020Some large piles of soil blocking the only level part of the layby and a lot of litter strewn about. Lots of road noise as this is a busy road. Handy for an enroute stopover as it is exempt from the Loch Lomond NP camping bylaws.
