Amazing! Free, stunning views. Boy racers until around 11, but they didn't bother us or our 3 children.

What a spot!!

Stayed here overnight, free parking from 18:00-09:00. We’ve payed a little extra to stay a bit longer this morning. We weren’t bothered through the night, traffic died down at around 22:00. Probably worth parking closer to the cafe/town as the toilets are a bit of a walk. Cafe is a little expensive but facilities are good. Showers in cafe toilets but likely only on during the summer.

Stayed overnight 16th January 2023 and the coldest van trip so far, but wow what a great place to stay. Loos nearby that cost 40p payable with phone or coins . Also chemical waste point for vans here. No charge during winter months and walkable to castle and pubs. Woke to waves and surfers - hardcore in this cold weather ! Thanks to the council for their support for campervans.

Stayed here October .loads of spaces available. Road is noisy at times but does quieten down around midnight . One boy racer did beep his horn as he drove all along the road past the campers haha…toilets were 24 hr and can pay via phone

We visited this park up on a Saturday night, so naturally it was busy. Lots of vans parked along the sea front. Cars and vans passing most of the night. Good for a stop over. We got away early to avoid car parking fee at 9am.

  • 4/5

Great place to stay, was noisy though as road traffic zooming past until around midnight.. full of campervans and motorhomes. cafe open early Sunday morning for food drinks and toilets

  • 5/5

great place to stop, fab views, free for disabled, lots of local walks, near to town. no services.

  • 2/5

toilets were Grimm, boy racers came so close to the van it was Dangerous. weirdos came on 2 separate occasions and stood looking in the door not saying a word, all older people with dogs. I think there not happy with people parking here. Generators are a joke you don't need it all night. great place to park and use the beach not sleep.

Absolutely love staying here, we visit a few times a year, views are amazing!

  • 5/5

Best parking ever, we backed out vw camper in dingle space with flat grass area behind - great views, toilets, beach and food/drink on doorstep. Doesn’t get much better. Yes boy racers for an hour then peace. Loved this and will return without a doubt. The £9 overnight parking we’ll worth it too.. thanks

Perfect place to sleep for a night or two. It can be a busy street but settles down fairly early into the evening. Felt very safe and loved falling asleep to the sound of waves surrounded by other campers. Saw a few tents pitched on the open green grass, free toilets all along the strip and even £1 showers near the coloured beach huts. Perfect !

Fantastic spot. Right along promenade, sea view. Free after 6pm but we paid using app for 24 hours. Fab location for Scarborough Open Air Theatre. Plenty of spaces if you arrive early enough. We stayed Thurs night.

  • 5/5

Parked up about 6.30 with plenty of other vans. Walked into town via South Bay signs along the harbour. Parking is free 6pm - 9am along the North Bay side. Toilets are just daytime and are locked. Some traffic noise but nothing you can't get used to. We just got cosy, played cards then slept. Ideal for surfers. There are grassed areas near and a play park but the road is something to consider.

  • 5/5

Awesome place to stay! Free from 6pm to 9am and you can park along as many bays as you need. Perfect!!!!!!

  • 3/5

Royal Albert Drive/Marine Drive pros: free (in feb), lots of space, views, short walk into north or south bay. cons: traffic noise, locals beeping, all toilets locked, local meeting spot for cars.

  • 5/5

Stayed here last night. Our first time in the new van..Parked up at 9pm loads of other vans. Had a good night sleep. Free parking this time of year so didn’t need to get up to pay… coffee shop on front for a morning coffee. Perfect little stop.

  • 4/5

Stopped here last night and yes there a bit of traffic noise but I’m stopping again tonight just for the views over the bay.. well worth paying £9 and just leave your vehicle there all day n night..

  • 5/5

Great stay stopped here loads, Friday night and not too noisy, will definitely stop here again!!

Seemed like a nice place to stop parked all day (payed at machine) stop the evening quickly realising we were on the local boy racers race track and stereo testing area. kids wouldn't settle so we moved on. Great views but the noise from exhausts and boom boxes more than spoil it. its also near a skate park where the language used was very "colourful" my kids don't need to hear that

  • 1/5

Arrived and saw the no overnight parking signs . We stayed until 11.30 pm , but boy racers and skateboarders have been noisy and causing trouble all evening so moved on .Not worth the risk .

  • 4/5

Great free stay. Parked up in the motor home around 9pm and fell asleep listening to the lovely sound of the waves on the shore wall. Had a few boy racers driving past up-to approx 11pm but nothing after. Even enjoyed an early morning swim in the bay and the oasis cafe before leaving when the parking fees kicked back in at 9am

  • 5/5

Spent a lovely evening here. It's right on the front so the views are fabulous. Lots of places to park. Some with grassed area to the rear, so room to sit and enjoy the views. There are some toilets that are free and 24 hour. The Oasis cafe opens at 6am and has toilets and shower if you buy something. We'll definitely be back.

  • 5/5

Our 1st night away in our baby, stayed here for the night, great view of the sea, lots of other motorhomes parked up for the night. Yeah a few cars passing but hey its free, loved it, back again soon I reckon

  • 4/5

Great overnighter, free parking 6pm-9am, you can park for 24 hours for £9. fab views across the bay. Lovely walk round the bay and along the cliffs if you carry on past the sealife centre. Yes the boy racers congregate (by the toilets, avoid that section) quite a lot of revving and engine popping but it didn't bother us, they weren't intimidating at all. We went to bed at10.30, slept really well

  • 4/5

Free parking 6pm - 9am there are toilets open daytime only. Nice views and nice places to walk, it’s an easy walk into the town and further round the bay to the funfair & marina. Peasholm Park is near by which has lovely Japanese gardens and very friendly squirrels which will come right up to you. The only downside as mentioned in other reviews is the boy racers speeding up and down the road at night beeping their horns and making their exhausts pop.

  • 5/5

Amazing! Free, stunning views. Boy racers until around 11, but they didn't bother us or our 3 children. What a spot!!

  • 4/5

Amazing view of the North Bay, woke early and ran the dog on the beach. There was a bit of noise traffic until about 2300, a few boy racers were speeding passed but slept soundly after that. Pay and display machine says free between 1800-0900, about 10 other vans were also here. obviously no facilities.

  • 4/5

Good night's sleep along with 30 other motorhomes. Reasonable amount of traffic and regular boy racers until around 2300 then a pretty quiet night. £6 for 24 hours, although we arrived and paid at 1810 on Saturday and our £6 ticket didn't expire until 0900 Monday. 15 minute walk into town.

  • 5/5

Kath1958s review isn’t quite right. There are indeed prohibited signs from the town but they stop close to where the pin is on the map. And the last prohibited sign makes it clear the ban is from that point southwards, meaning all points north have as close to permission as we can get in the uk. Only negative is the noise, it was ok the night I was there.

  • 3/5

Been today and it has got signs up no campervans or motor homes can't park between 11am till 7pm am so I would not chance it

  • 3/5

Quite a few cars speeding past until 1.30AM. Not a great night's sleep but close to the beach.
