Beautiful view of the reservoir. Very peaceful night - we were the only people here. Barn owl flying around at dusk which was stunning to see. Only downside- lots of midges which came in the van every time we opened the door! plenty of room for larger vehicles and no height barriers.

  • 3/5

Sehr schöner Platz in sehr schöner Landschaft. Nachts sehr ruhig. Wir waren alleine mit tausenden von kleinen Mücken, die uns unmöglich gemacht haben, nach draußen zu gehen. Wir haben sie stundenlang im Wohnmobil gejagt.

  • 4/5

good nights sleep there second attempt at camping in my van wasn’t as cold i imagined being near water aswell ? recommend

  • 4/5

Great free overnight parking spot - pretty level and lovely views of the reservoir. Depending on the direction you’re coming in from, some narrow roads but we managed in a 7m MH. Felt safe and a few other campers with us for the night.

  • 4/5

  • 5/5

Excellent secluded spot off road. Large car park. Fellow campers present. Great reservoir views.

  • 5/5

really good place level enough grounds, nice view with lovely walks, really friendly neighbours. signal is okay for messages and calls there are no facilities like toilets! around 9/10 30pm ish we had a disturbance by 3 cars revving their engines and shouting which did cause a little worry and annoyance but ended up fine in the end, other than that eveything was perfect

  • 5/5

Amazing parkup around the reservoir, we got there in the evening when it was quiet and stayed in the end of the car park for a couple of nights. Was left alone and people were friendly. Great hikes, also a fishing lake

  • 4/5

Nice overnighter with a lovely view, only one other van here over night. Quiet overnight, busy early morning with dog walkers. Would use this again, felt a safe location for lone camper.

  • 4/5

stayed overnight, only 1 other car, no road noise after about 9.30pm. love views. shame there is lots of litter around though

  • 4/5

Nice stopover with a lovely view, a few vans out and further parking if you carry on up the road. Few boy racers out in the evening and dog walkers in the morning. We would use this again.

  • 4/5

Stayed here last night without any issues. Quite a busy place with other vans and some cars coming and going, but nothing to worry about. Wasn’t bothered by anybody. No signs on this car park and no height restriction however other nearby say no overnight. Lots of cars arrived to use the car park Sunday morning…….all good really.

  • 5/5

Great location. Plenty of space. Busy in the day and until about 9.00pm. Lovely to wake up next to the reservoir.

  • 5/5

Arrived on a Saturday evening at about 19:00 very quiet, despite it being a glorious evening. Apart from the odd car earlier in the evening (and the geese arriving on the reservoir) there was no noise. Scenery glorious. Phone signal good. No facilities. Loads of walking. Only carpark in the valley without "No Overnight Stay" signs. Recommended.

  • 4/5

Fantastic free park up in a great location. Lots of great walks, lovely views and friendly ducks! Parked here at lunchtime but ended up staying as couldn't get parked anywhere in Buxton. Unfortunately there were loads of very noisy boy racers until about midnight. Think as it's at the end of the drag from the main road it's the turning point! So not a great sleep but imagine it's usually fine.

  • 5/5

didn't make it here as I followed sat nav. if you come from Congleton side it might be a wasted journey as the only road is no entry. shame it looks awesome but getting dark so had to stop

  • 4/5

Stayed last night 15th March and found this place to be quiet and peaceful, well the geese do provide a musical accompaniment but it’s quite nice …. No fees that we are aware of, sign saying no fires but found evidence that someone had. Plenty room for all types and sizes of vans. No facilities or bins but it’s no major drama. Lovely walk around the reservoir. Would definitely stay again. Good 4G

  • 5/5

Stayed here for the first time in my van. Lovely quiet spot, only noise were the ducks. A couple of other campers joined us during the night. Car park became very busy on the Sunday morning. Lovely walks In the area. Felt safe being a female and teenage daughter.

  • 5/5

really peaceful just us and one other van opposite side of car park. After you cross the bridge keep going past the first car park as that says no overnight parking about 250 yds further on is this place fab views and walks available 2 cars joined us at 8.30 off walking

  • 5/5

Loved it here! I stayed on a Friday night & there were a few others but all good! Felt safe, car park is for the forest & had a good walk around there on the Saturday morning! Waking up to see the resevoir was nice too! Will definitely go back here!

  • 5/5

We stayed here for a couple nights and it was beautiful! Loads of room for vans and cars, we had a peaceful night no issues at all. Wish we stayed longer as we found so much do and explore 100% recommend

  • 5/5

stayed for the night. Super spot in large free car park. beautiful surrounds, great walls with dogs. would recommend and stay again.

  • 4/5

Stayed here last night. Beautiful surroundings. Definitely be back.

  • 5/5

Sehr guter Parkplatz. Sehr viel Platz. Aber Achtung die Straßen dorthin sind mit einem großen wohnmobil kaum fahrbar. Sehr eng und dicht bewachsen

  • 5/5

Stayed here for a few night, lovely place, very peaceful. Would stay here again, pretty level

  • 5/5

Super spot très calme au bord d'un barrage donc très belle vue. Attention la route est fermée le dimanche entre 11h et 16h donc il faut y aller soit avant soit après. Il y avait déjà des midges pour nous dans cette partie d'Angleterre ce soir là.

  • 4/5

Nice and flat car park loads of room for a few vans, nice abd quiet at night. Starts to get busy early morning with dog walkers. Plenty of walks around. 6/08/22

  • 4/5

Parked here last night, nice and peaceful. No one bothered us, a couple other vehicles here too. Nice walks around and scenery. Would stay again

  • 5/5

Lots of space and picturesque. Quite a few walking trails around, so it was a good place to stay with our dog. There doesn’t appear to be any bins though and our 3G/4G with EE was slow.

  • 4/5

Great views and flatish space. Had to pull off as quite a lot of midges, so didn't stay in the end.

  • 5/5

Great views, lots of space and great network coverage. If you visit on a Sunday please note the road is closed 11:00-1600

  • 5/5

Flat parking, lovely walks around. Had a few youths turn up at 11:20 pm for half an hour with very loud music but left after that and was very quiet after that, good nights sleep!

  • 5/5

This was our first ever over night stay in our camper and this place did not disappoint! Quite a few other campers but area was quiet. Lots of places to walk around here. All in all a brilliant first trip!

  • 5/5

Had a really peaceful night here and a lovely walk next morning. Not accessible between 11am and 4 pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

  • 5/5

Lovely views, quiet overnight and only one other van on a Friday evening. Busy with walkers, fishing, cyclists and runners during the day but still parking spaces. Really lovely area with lots to do. No bin in the carpark but no litter either.

  • 5/5

Excellent spot, quiet and safe. Strong 4G and signal on Vodafone.

  • 5/5

Stayed here march 2022.great overnight stay. Very quiet. Walked up to Errwood Hall ruins and took afew clips for my holiday Youtube video. Will return

  • 5/5

Please no fires or bbq's signs everywhere please respect what you have great views great walks and a quiet night's sleep leave only your footprints the rangers will fine you £1000 and we could loose this space

  • 5/5

Stayed here now around 8-9 times and absolutely love it, always quite, over vans of all types and never noisy, only spoke to 2 people camping but always friendly, one had a great car roof tent which was amazing, I advise anyone to stay here, the walks are amazing with so many waterfalls

  • 5/5

Beautiful place to stay, lots of other campers around so felt safe despite being remote. The car park is a short walk away from the ruins of Errwood hall and right across the road from the reservoir so plenty to do. No signs against overnight parking and a park ranger drive past multiple times in the morning with no issue. A few boy racers came past during the night to head up the valley but quiet

  • 5/5

Beautiful location, really quiet when we went and the car park flat. Suitable for larger motorhomes plenty of space. No services and the car park not tarmac but firm was very muddy in places. Need to be careful driving out as the road has some tight bends and narrow in places. Our van is 7.6m in length and we managed ok.

  • 5/5

Great spot! Although tagged on the map is wrong location and brings you to a sailing club which was closed. Look out for the ‘street car park’ on google maps before you get to the postcode, follow down that road, past the carpark to the bottom and you’ll find this little sweet spot as above in the pics. One other van here and the odd car when I stayed.

  • 5/5

Brilliant park up lovely views of the lake had a very peaceful night sleep one other van there no problems at all. Bare in mind the other car parks are no over night stays but this one has no signs also a warden drove past in the morning and didn’t say anything to us

  • 5/5

Absolute corker of a spot. No facilities but so quiet in the evening. Just myself and one MH there overnight. A couple of boy racers arrived around 10pm but didn’t stay long. Woke up to the most beautiful views across the water. Please take care of this beautiful location.

  • 1/5

Unfortunately the car park was closed when I got there due to logging work

  • 5/5

Nice park up, the reservoir right across from where you park, a really nice wooded walk just up in the fields, with a lovely waterfall running through. An old ruins too just up from the carpark, that leads through to many walks! No facilities or bins so take your rubbish home with you!

  • 5/5

Stayed here for one night on 28th Jul 21. Lovely spot for many walks. Quiet overnight. A couple of other vans. Would come back.

  • 5/5

Great spot. plenty of space. Few boy racers around till 10pm apart from that very quiet. a few other vans there when we stayed. fantastic walks from the car park

  • 4/5

Lovely views and no bother overnight. A few people in fast cars blasting up the one way road but they were well gone by 10pm.

  • 5/5

I visit here on and off with my son in the ford galaxy once or twice a month, beautiful big car park and quiet too with walks around.

  • 5/5

Great spot to stop for a night, free, with beautiful views. Stayed there last weekend, apart from us sleeping in a car, there was another car and 2 campervans overnight - no signs forbidding it.

  • 5/5

    Amazing place!

  • 5/5

Amazing, best place I’ve stayed, walks are Ridiculous, waterfalls, lakes, everything, 4g great, quiet, beautiful views, stay here

  • 5/5

Beautiful views of the reservoir with peaks and forest behind. Loads of walks within easy reach. Dogs are asked to be kept on leads March-July to protect ground-nesting birds. Had a quiet night’s sleep. Filled up in the morning with walkers and cyclists. A bit of goose and duck noise but we like that sort of thing. No toilet or bin.

  • 5/5

A great place to stay very peaceful night

  • 4/5

Good spot on the reservoir, not that level but we’re able to find a reasonable spot. Ducks/geese were bit noisy but not bad.

  • 5/5

Great location for walks. Peaceful night with only a few campers overnight. Get's busy with walkers from around 08:00. Access is via single carriage way and very hilly. Great phone reception and 4G.

  • 4/5

Super quiet in October, views across the lake. Looks like it might be mad busy in summer!

  • 4/5

Arrived 2300, two other vehicles in the car park who I assume were fishing or camping. Walks to an old ruined hall, good road biking, nice views. No bins or facilities, obviously, but it’s not exactly hard to bring everything away with you. Quiet until around 0800 on a Saturday, then quickly fills up.

  • 4/5

    Beautiful location,very scenic drive,very quiet spot,definitely recommend

  • 2/5

The road to the GPS location is closed. The parking lot closest to that is "no overnight". We just had lunch and a quick tour here.

  • 5/5

Loved it. We went for a walk around Goyt Valley and there was some great views

  • 1/5

Overnight parking ist verboten! Ein Ranger kontrolliert.

  • 5/5

Probably the quietest of a number of car parks in this area. Fairly flat, no bins. We were here with 2 other vans on a Thursday night in August. Note that the access road to this particular car park is closed on summer Sunday's and Bank Holidays.

  • 4/5

Large car park overlooking Errwood Reservoir, access is quite easy and also not difficult to get level when you arrive. There are no height or parking restrictions and 4G signal is very strong. Great views from the car park as well as in the area generally. We stayed a Friday and Saturday night and the only criticism we have is noise from local youths up until about 11pm then very quiet.
