This is a known dogging lay-by, with cars cruising in and out until around midnight every night. I have been parking my HGV here for 10 years and have never had any issues with diesel or load being tampered with. I would suggest the north end of the lay-by if you’re staying in a camper as it’s a little wider so trucks can easily pass on the way out. Beware that in winter it is hard to get traction
Nice spot with wooded area for walks. 3 stars because at 4am in the morning a 2 dodgy cars where scoping around my van looking through windows. I turned engine on and they ran away.
As someone who knows the area, I would not recommend that people stay here for their safety. It is a known, popular dogging spot (including in the daytime) as well as being popular with youths, who go their to take drugs, blast their music and be 'boy racers'. Drug dealing also goes on here. It is also unsafe with break-ins occuring regularly. Do not go here unless you want a night of horror.
