Sunday lunch is a carvery £10. Lunch 12-3pm, Dinner 6-9pm. £15 minimum spend in bar/restaurant to qualify for overnight in carpark.
Die Kneipe Crown Inn. Er bat darum, auf seinem Parkplatz zu bleiben. Sehr einladender Besitzer, gute Auswahl an Real Ales und gutes Essen. Das übliche Pub, aber auch ein komplettes thailändisches Menü. Vernünftige Preise. Das Mittagessen am Sonntag kostet £10 Fleisch.

We stopped 2 nights, landlord kept mentioning money for parking, we spent £77.00 first night and £43.20 the second, however being questioned about parking charges on both nights will stop us returning ever. I would have entered a lot more script however I have kept this review brief. This was our second visit but it will be our last at the Crown
lovely place to stop for a night landlord is ready nice and is happy for you to stop in the car park as long as you spend in the pub, menu is nice didn't arrive until after 9 so didn't get to try the food,will definitely be calling back to try menu
Geweldig sfeervolle en gemoedelijke pub met zeer vriendelijke gastheer en aangenaam lokaal volk. Rustige overnachting.
Wir haben im Crown Inn gegessen, aber nicht dort übernachtet. Das thailändische Essen war nicht besonders gut, der Pub ist schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen, aber wir hatten einen wirklich netten Abend mit englischen Campern. Der Wirt passt zu seinem Pub, ist sehr gechillt.
Very quiet spot. Good pub food. The pub landlord is very welcoming. You are expected to be a customer to enjoy the free overnight stop. The pub is a little run down but serviceable.
On Sundays - no dinner is served.
Wow … absolutely fabulous food. Best Thai I’ve eaten outside of Thailand .Very friendly welcome from both the staff and the locals. Don’t judge a book by its cover.
Wir waren auf der Durchreise. Ein guter Stellplatz für eine Nacht. Nachts war es Ruhig und der Platz ist eben. Das Pub hat ein sehr gutes Thailändisches Restaurant, wirklich sehr zu empfehlen! Die Besitzer sind mega freundlich. Auch der Besuch mit Baby hat super geklappt. Uns wurde ein Hochstuhl angeboten und alle haben sich über den "kleinen" Besuch gefreut
Stayed there last night and highly recommend, a very quiet car park, felt really safe and as everyone else has said the Thai food was incredible! Really friendly landlord who made a lovely fuss of our 11 month old whilst in the pub too. Would definitely stay again!
The food here is phenomenal! Especially the Thai food. Best Thai food I’ve had since visiting Thailand! The landlord is great more than happy to let us stay in the car park, offered us water if we needed it too. Good bunch of locals and a very friendly atmosphere would highly recommend

Super thailändisches Essen, netter Besitzer und ruhiger Stellplatz im Hinterhof des Pubs. Auch den Wasserhahn durften wir nachdem wir gefragt hatten benutzen und unseren Wassertank auffüllen. Übernachtung kostenfrei wenn man im Pub etwas isst. Vielen Dank für diesen tollen Stopp!
Perfect location when travelling the M6. The building may look as though it’s not as grand a hotel as it once was but don’t be put off, the food from the Thai menu is excellent and the staff and locals very friendly indeed. I highly recommend.
Stayed at the Crown last night. Too late for food but you can stay £15 per night. Register at the Bar whilst buying a pint of reasonably priced Beer or Ales. There is a water tap available in the parking compound.
Stopped here last night. Had a nice meal of pie and mash but there is also an extensive Thai menu. Landlord happy for you to stay in car park if you spend £15, which is two main meals, as it's reasonably priced. Locals were very friendly too. Landlord did suggest ringing to book for food as can sometimes get quite busy. Although quiet when we were here.

Excellent Pub stop over. Car park to the rear quiet at night. Went into the pub and ate and drank let the owner know we were in a van and was warmly welcomed. We ate from the Thai food menu. I fully recommend this you won't be disappointed. We weren't asked or told of a minimum spend bit we did say we wanted food when we arrived. Don't drive past this one.
Just parking here for the night what a lovely experience! As long as you eat at the pub you can stay overnight in the carpark. The food was exceptional, so much choice from pub favorites to a full Thai menu! The owners were lovely and made us feel very welcome. Great start to our holiday thank you so much, we will definitely be back x
We rang ahead and were assured of a place. Very friendly staff but a slight mix up over whether we had actually booked a table. Not to worry, soon sorted, and then a lovely meal followed. Really tasty food, generous portions and not expensive. Flat car park but a bit compact.. could be interesting in a larger van at busy times. We'd definitely return, if only for the food!
The staff were very helpful and welcoming. We enjoyed a lovely Thai meal here before spending the night in the car. Some road noise but otherwise a great place to stop on our journey north.
A very warm welcome from the owners. More than happy for us to stay the night. They were having an issue with the gas so no Thai food but offered us lots of other stuff and did us a lovely selection of Thai starters instead. Super quiet night, no noise from road at all. We were all alone in the car park at night. Will definitely use again travelling up to Scotland and try the Thai food :)
great stop off. Don't let the outside of the pub put you off, it may be tired but inside is a great welcome, good food and generous glasses of your tipple. Try the Thai menu! The Beehive brings a family vibe for those with small children. The Crown brings sanctuary :-)
Wir vergeben fünf Sterne, und zwar vor allem wegen des Restaurants, das eine Karte anbietet, die jedem Thai-Restaurant Ehre machen würde. Daztu gibt es feine britische Küche. Ein Juwel. Der Platz st nachts ruhig, bietet Abfallentsorgung und Frischwasser.
We stayed here last week on the way to Scotland, nice flat car park. We had food and drinks in the pub, landlord was very friendly and the food was lovely. Was free to stay when you had food. Definitely would recommend a night here as a stop over.
Arrived late, were allowed to park. £15 charge in bar or food spend (we opted for 4 pints of Guinness….). Not much road noise. Toilets shut when the bar closes.
We arrived about 4pm, had a lovely greeting when we asked if we could stay over in the car park. We had a couple of beers and we both ate from the Tai menu, it was delicious. Great atmosphere in the pub during the evening, lots of space in the flat carpark and with it being late in the year we were the only ones there. Great stop off on the way to Scotland!
Very friendly and welcoming landlord and locals. It’s hard to choose from the reasonably priced Thai menu as it all looks so good. £15 minimum spend to park in the quiet corner. A good nights sleep. Water outside. Almost flat car park. Only a mile or so off the motorway. Well worth a stop.
We had a great stay last night on way back South from Scotland. Got there a bit late but landlord was very accommodating and we were still able to order and eat a delicious Thai meal. Very handy as only a mile or so away from M6.
Stayed last night got a pint and took it to van, and owner delivered our lovely Thai meal to the van as well, what more could you ask for, next to a busy cross roads so a bit of early traffic noise. Water tap too. Oh if you use the gents toilets WATCH THE STEP as you enter.

Great stop over for the night in the car park behind the pub . Very welcoming landlord and locals . Thai food is superb . Can thoroughly recommend , quiet spot for the price of food/ drink in the bar. Access to water supply also provided
Great stop over landlord and his wife very friendly no problems parking up over night in spacious car park as long as you eat or drink in bar I would suggest do both. Food was excellent, and the beer wasn’t too bad either lol locals very friendly
Stayed Friday and Saturday night in my motorhome in the car park. Access door from car park into the pub passing the toilets first so if you just wanted to pop in to use the toilets no problem up until it closes about 11:00pm. I ate and drank both evenings and was with a friend the second evening. Landlord Mike very friendly. Roaring fire was burning away. I had chicken and chips and my friend had a Thai dish which he said was very nice. Mine was tasty too.
Lovely people. Good food felt very welcome. No overnight charge as we ate in the pub. We look forward to coming back.

Lovely little fine, the Hotel does English and Thai food which is what I had and was absolutely superb, I would highly recommend a stop here. The staff and owners were all lovely and couldn't do enough for you. I have a campervan which the owner very kindly let me stop over in the Carpark overnight when you buy a meal.
They now require you to buy a £15 ticket that you can use to buy food and drinks. There were other motorhomes when we arrived. Quite place.
Fantastic little stopover, right out the back of the pub, very quiet and safe park up. Landlord Mike was a diamond, really welcoming and served a great pint. Pull up, pop in and book a table for a meal you won't be disappointed, and to top it off..... Super dog friendly.

My partner, myself and our dog stayed at the Crown Inn last night and we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. We were looking for a stopover on our way to Scotland from South Wales. The landlord and his wife were so very welcoming... the best welcome we’ve had anywhere else in fact. We chose the Crown Inn as we love Thai food and noticed this on their menu and boy we weren’t disappointed. The meal was amazing, very authentic, the restaurant and bar is dog friendly and nothing was too much trouble. we’ll definitely stay here in the future on our way to Scotland or even the Lakes. Care park had plenty of space for our motorhome and other cars, was advised could use the tap for water too if required ? thank you very much for an amazing evening.
Stayed one night last night. Landlord and locals all very friendly. Food excellent. Heard some road noise when going to bed but slept well. Outside tap available for fresh water.
Stayed overnight at the Crown Hotel last night in rear car park. Free to park if having drinks/food. Owner very friendly and accommodating. Had a Thai meal, delicious, they have an extensive menu as well as English food. As others have said Hotel is looking tired, just needs some tlc. Some road noise from M6 but didn't stop us getting a decent sleep.
Landlord very welcoming. The pub is a little tired and could do with some updating, but then again you won't be staying in it, only eating and drinking in it. The car park is to the rear of the pub so the building blocks a lot of noise from the road. Usual pub grub with an extensive Thai menu as well. The lady who I assume is the landlords wife is Thai, so the food is genuine and very good.
