(IV40) Kyle - A87

Very scenic spot, only one other camper here a few nights ago when we stayed. Unfortunately around 2am a car playing loud music parked up until 4am but was just unlucky we think due to the spot not being very busy! Would still recommend to others as it’s a lovely quiet spot usually.

Quiet and great views of the castle. Only people here so far. Phone signal on Id.

Meilleure nuit de tout notre roadtrip en Ecosse: pas un bruit, protégés du vent, on n'entend pas la route en contrebas, et une vue imprenable sur le château. Pas beaucoup de place, donc il faut arriver en après-midi plutôt qu'en soirée.

Die Aussicht ist ohne Frage wunderbar. Aber warum müssen Camper diesen Platz als Toilette benutzen? Es stank bestialisch nach Fäkalien. Da hilft das aufgestellte "Kackverbotschild" auch nichts mehr. Sehr schade. Wir haben dann lieber den Platz weiter oben zur Übernachtung genommen.

When I arrived around 6 p.m., two campers were already there. Later, another one arrived, bringing the total number of campers to four. Parking for more than four would be difficult. I slept comfortably and quietly. The view was great.

Idéal pour les photos et le déjeuner de midi. si vous marchez plus haut sur 100m , un petit chemin à droite à la hauteur d’un laisser passer des voitures en face vous emmène sur le point de vue parfait sur le château.

Parking avec une magnifique vue sur le château ! Gratuit donc on en profite ;)

perfecto para pasar una noche. Se llena. A las 8am pasan a pedir que la gente se vaya. Permiten dormir, pero no que ocupes el espacio a partir de esa hora, que es para la gente que quiere ver la vista del castillo.

Bellissimo parcheggio a lato strada. C’è spazio per 4 veicoli di medio-grande dimensioni. Si vede il castello dall’alto e nel silenzio della sera si sente solo il ruscellino che passa. Alla mattina verso le 8 bisogna lasciare libero perché passano a chiedere spostarsi.

Très joli spot mais y arriver tôt car après les places sont cher dans le coin. En effet c’est plus sympa de partir tôt car c’est un lieu d’arrêt pour faire la jolie photo du château donc si nous voulons garder des lieux comme celui ci pour dormir, partons tôt !

Punto perfetto per una notte, vista direttamente sul castello. A fine luglio c'erano un po' di midges, ma sopportabili. Spazio per massimo 4 van/camper. Passaggio di macchine e di persone a inizio serata, per il resto notte tranquilla.

Superbe endroit pour rester la nuit. Nous étions 2 CC et 1 fourgon. Il s'agit du point de vue sur le château Eilean Donan. la nuit a été très calme.

não parece ser uma parada legalizada. não há indicações de parking, overnight ou passing place. a vista realmente é espetacular. vamos passar a noite, porém o local deixa uma certa dúvida.

Alles gesagt. Herrliche Aussicht und nachts ruhig. Kamen um 16.00 Uhr an und es gab noch reichlich Platz am Rand der Strasse. Etwas voller (4 WoMos, 1 PKW) wurde es erst gg 20.00. Der Versuch, hier einen Platz zu ergattern, lohnt sich auf jeden Fall.

Depois de termos feito a condução à noite pela A87, onde vimos veados e alces na estrada, conseguimos encontrar aqui um pequeno lugar para a nossa carrinha, onde conseguimos ver o Castelo de Eilean Donan à noite. O silêncio e a tranquilidade é absoluto!

Arrived late afternoon, it is a lay-by to take photos of the castle - great view. There were 5 vans that overnighted. Quiet and good for one night.

Beautiful spot overlooking the castle, was busy when turned up but the spot fit 2 motorhomes, and 2 camper-vans!

Traumhafte Aussicht auf das Castle (sogar ein touribus kommt morgens hoch zum Fotos knipsen lassen). Wie beschrieben keine Ausstattung, aber wenig Durchfahrtsverkehr und für eine Nacht absolut gut. mit 5 Fahrzeugen schon sehr voll, weiter oben ist aber auch nochmal eine Möglichkeit.

Aussicht ist wunderbar. im Winter sicher ein unglaublich toller Platz. waren im Juni hier und mussten wegen den Mücken die Flucht ergreifen. daher die drei Sterne und nicht 5.

Aunque un poco estrecho es un sitio ideal para fotografiar el castillo y la Bahia, sobre todo por la noche, muy tranquilo.

We arrived at 17.30 and managed to get a space in our 6.8m Motorhome. We shared the spot with 4 other campers and the lay-by was completely full. Lovely views of the castle and fairly sheltered on a wet blustery night. Would definitely stay again

This is a super spot! After a decent pub meal returned to the van to enjoy a spectacular sunset over the loch. Then a little later they lit up the castle and a piper played for 30mins. Very special!!

A perfect little stop over on a large layby. not a very busy road. Great views. Not very level. few spots are better than others.

Zona para 3 furgonetas pegado a la carretera en la montaña frente al castillo Eilean Donan. Zona muy tranquila para dormir y despertarse con unas preciosas vistas al castillo. La localización coincidía, muy fácil llegar. Muy recomendable para pasar una noche!

Beautiful view of the castle, even at night it lights up so you still have a great view. We came in November and were the only car here. it's close enough to civilization that it feels safe enough to be here alone. The last car went past at 6.30pm and we did not see another person until sunrise at 7.30am. There would be space for 2 other campers comfortably.

Magnifique spot pour voir le château.Attention à venir tôt car peu de places disponibles. Des bus de touristes arrivent dans la matinée pour prendre des photos aux alentours de 9h30-10h.

We came late but luckily only 1 motorhome. Road has lots of potholes. Fantastic view. The light on castle was so beautiful.

Nacht war ruhig. Schöne Aussicht, Platz für 4 Vans, leicht schräg. Leider am Rand Klopapier mit Kackhaufen...Warum nehmt ihr keine Hundetüten und sammelt eure Haufen ein? PS. Morgen ab 9 kamen kleine Tourbusse und die Touristen um hier Fotos zu machen.

Toller Spot mit toller Aussicht. Man sollte aber früh dran sein. War schnell belegt. Die hinteren Stellplätze sind auch etwas schief. Waren im Pub unten in Dornie essen. Das war sehr lecker.

Super Platz, allerdings schnell voll. Wenn man ein Stück weiterfährt, gibt es nochmal eine Bucht für ein Wohnmobil oder 2 kleine Camper. Mit Glück ist diese noch frei. Dort ist zwar kein Burgblick, aber trotzdem tolle Aussicht auf den See.

Wenn man einen Platz in der Mitte bekommt, traumhafte Aussicht auf die Burg. Besser früh dort sein. Einige Midges, aber nachts sehr ruhig.

lovely parking space! for here at about 5pm and already 2 other motorhome's there. it gets full quickly, alot arrived after this and couldn't park. stunning view of castle and quiet place to park would recommend parking here

25 julio: Aparcamiento en borde de una pequeña carretera con poco tránsito (principalmente vecinos de la zona parece) donde apenas sí hay sitio para 4 o 5 furgos pero las vistas del castillo no tienen igual. Una maravilla si os pilla buen tiempo poder disfrutar del atardecer y amanecer con esas vistas. Debido al mirador, puede haber algo de movimiento en las horas punta pero nosotros pasamos una muy buena noche. Atención, el camino está un poco en pendiente. Echamos de menos las calas para nivelar la furgoneta.

handy spot, easy to nip down to local pub for refreshments. Great veiw, not very level however. away from busy road, relatively quiet. no facilities.

Wunderbarer Ausblick auf das Castle. Abends etwas Verkehr, da Leute hier her kommen um den Ausblick zu genießen und ein Foto zu schießen. Morgens ab 09:00 kommen auch ein paar geführte Touristengruppen hier her. Dafür kann man hier mit einem wunderbaren Ausblick schlafen.

Un lugar ideal para pasar la noche y poder ver el castillo de Eliean Donan tanto al anochecer tanto al amanecer. Nosotros fuimos con la camper y fue precioso.

Watched the sunset behind the castle here. Wonderful spot! Place for 4 vans. A bit further down the road there's place for 2 or 3 more but not such an amazing view there.

Maravillosas vistas, tranquilo y espacioso. Se escucha un riachuelo y poco tránsito de coches. No está protegido del viento como única pega.

Como todos dicen el lugar es para 4 o 5 motrohomes aunque algunos estarán bastante inclinados. No había nadie por la baja temporada así que elegimos el lugar, justo frente al castillo que más tarde se iluminó y nos brindo una hermosa vista. Noche super tranquila.

Nous sommes arrivés à 18h15 il y avait déjà 2 campervan et une fourgonnette. Nous avons pu nous installer et un 5eme van est arrivé plus tard, c’est vraiment le max. La vue est splendide et la route très calme, pas une voiture après 20h et première voiture à 8h. Légère pente mais rien de dérangeant. Endroit propre, merci de le laisser tel quel :)

Parfait, aucune voiture durant la nuit. La première à 8h. La journée des touristes viennent prendre des photos et repartent 5 min après. Légère pente.

Fantastische Aussicht auf Eilean Donan Castle. Wir haben hier sehr gut und ruhig und gerade gestanden. Sehr zu empfehlen! Bitte Rücksicht auf die Anwohner nehmen bei der Anfahrt!

Amazing spot for one night. Great view of the castle. At night the castle was illuminated and bagpipes were playing. No one drove past after 9pm.

Juste génial, nous étions 4 CC et la place pour un 5eme sans problème. Bord de route mais très calme la nuit.... Et une vue merveilleuse sur le château. Illuminé la nuit.

Beautiful location overlooking Eilean donan castle. 15 minute walk through the small village Dornie. £3 entry during the day to walk around the castle. FREE after 5pm. Excellent for photos of the castle day/night.

lovely spot overlooking Eilean donan castle. no bins . enough space for 3 / 4 motor homes . very quiet during night. didn't hear any traffic . beautiful view to wake up to in morning . friendly stray black fluffy cat wondering around too. note - ranger did come round and hand us a pamphlet about where you can/can't stay in motorhome, with rules ect. handy and helpful for us firstimers !

I tried this place but when I got out of my van there was human excrement and toilet roll littering the verge. This put me off and stayed at a nearby campsite with all facilities instead

Merveilleux ! La vue du camion est splendide. Il est très facile d'aller au château à pieds, par la petite route très peu passante puis par un petit chemin piéton. Nuit tranquille.

Amazing view and space for 5 vans if you squeeze in. Seems very popular. However, there were millions of little bugs everywhere, once the sun went down. They get in your eyes and on your face, and make it very difficult to do anything outside the car!

Vue exceptionnelle sur le château! Terrain bétonné plat avec zéro passage. Propre. Capacité d’accueil 3-4max. Nous avons passé une nuit très agréable.

Perfecte gratis plek. Afgelegen dus erg rustig en met een geweldig uitzicht. Rustige nacht met ‘s ochtends vroeg veel vogeltjes! We stonden met nog een andere camper. Max 3 denk ik.

Maximum 4 places, not all of them with a full view on the castle from the van, but seeing the castle illuminated at night is definitely worth it. Few midges but quiet spot where we had a nice sleep

Petit emplacement le long d’une petite single track très peu passante la nuit offrant une superbe vue sur Eilean Donan Castle. Place pour 3 ou 4 véhicules sous les arbres. Emplacement complètement autorisé (nous avons eu une visite de l’association locale de la protection du site UNESCO qui nous l’a confirmé). Présence de quelques midges, pas de services mais très belle vue qui vaut le détour !

Great place to sleep for the night, very quiet only with the sound of the waterfall behind the road. Fantastic view of the castle. Easy access - shared the parking with 3 other campers & RV'S. Would stay again.

Exceptional view. One lane road for access but no problems on arrival or departure. As others have mentioned, this is a wide lane for passing, but it is quite large with plenty of space. We were the only motorhome and there was no problem with anyone needing to use the lane for passing.

Super Aussicht & gut für die Mittagspause, aber nix für Übernacht.

Ceci n’est pas un parking mais plus un passing place élargi permettant d’avoir une belle vue sur le Eilean Donan Castle. Nous ne resterons pas ici plus d’une heure et surtout pas pour la nuit. Chacun est libre de faire ce qu’il souhaite mais je pense que cette endroit n’est pas adapté.

This will be my third overnight stay here. Undisturbed and picturesque as always.

effectivement la vue est très belle mais ce n'est qu'un point de vue absolument pas un parking. C'est d'ailleurs indiqué tel que. Si nous voulons que les campings cars soient bien accueillis, il ne faut pas monopoliser ce genre de d'endroit, surtout pour y rester la nuit. merci toutefois pour le spot car la vue est magnifique et nous avons pu faire de belles photos.

Super quiet, almost no cars passing at night. Place for 2/3 campers. Superb views of the castle, lake and mountains. Spot with trees and a fenced forest on one side, sheep woke us up :) As someone mentioned, you can refill water tanks at the hall downtown, the tap is next to 'disabled' parking spots, there also are very clean toilets.

This is just an extension of the road. There is no protection from passing traffic. However, the road does seem to be quiet. Loads of empty vodka bottles, cans and tissues in the hedges. For us, it didn't feel like an overnight space, more of a parking place to look at the view. We moved on.

Good wee spot and a cracking view of the castle. Given that it is Christmas day I so far have this place to myself with just a few locals passing by, all of whom have said hello.

Very nice spot, had a quiet night. The caslte looks stunning at night. Arrived late on a Sunday August night and there was one campervan parked, so fit in without any problems (we’re in Skoda Fabia:).

Arrived at 1 am so was super quiet. the parking place is really just a layby at what appears to be the back of some residential properties. however, keep driving past and up a fairly even road and there is the space. probably room for 2 or 3 vans. we were on our own. there is indeed a beautiful view across the Loch with the castle in the foreground. At 1 am (end of June) the sky was light.

Amazing view, space for 2 medium vans. You can fill up water containers at the local village hall, toilets also available here (very clean!)

Quiet night, lovely views to the castle. a few people stopping off during the evening for photos, walkers going past and then minibusses arriving with tours in the morning, but had a lovely quiet night sleep here with no issues, though a little unlevel. great 4g.

Great spot to look out towards the castle. We parked for the night on our own, however there were quite a few people who walked past. No traffic noise. Some midgies about but overall highly recommend.

Top-Platz. Wahnsinnsaussicht. Auch mit 7,30 m und Alkoven gut anzufahren.

Super Stellplatz für 1 Nacht zum Campen. Tolle Aussicht auf die Umgebung mit dem Schloss. Vorrausgesetzt der Camper hat seitliche Fenster im Bettbereich kann man das Schloss vom Bett aus mit fortschreitender Dännerung beobachten, keine Feuerstelle, im August in den Abend- und Morgenstunden viele Midges. Der Spot ist relativ hoch frequentiert, sodass wir mittlerweile auch mit zwei anderen Campern hier stehen. Auch mit sehr großem Wohnmobil gut erreichbar. Wir waren mit einem 6m Kastenwagen da und hatten keine Probleme. Mobiles Internet mit mäßig gutem Empfang, der könnte besser sein.

Traumhafte Aussicht und im Pub unten Ort gibt es echt gutes Essen. Die Straße ist ab Abends nicht mehr wirklich befahren, daher recht ruhig. Lediglich etwas abschüssig, so dass wir trotz Ausgleichskeilen noch schief standen.
