Lovely island to drive around and this location is probably the best overnight spot. Lovely long sandy beach with shallow water for a good while. Cafe did ok food but was very busy - definitely a local hot spot (understandably given the views). Track is very bumpy with lots of potholes but doable in a 7m if going slow.

supereb remote location, just by the sea. beautiful cafe, extraordirany home made cakes and doughnuts, super friendly.

  • 5/5

Lovely spot to watch the sun go down. Large safe sandy bay. Local bus to Rothesay is £5.00 return or £5.50 for 24hr rover ticket for whole island. However, ****** Cafe and Toilets closed - not sure if/when they will reopen*****

stunning place. incredibly busy during bank holidays & weekends. Much quieter midweek. Very quiet at night, plenty of room on rhe beach for everyone.

Small lay by on gravel track by the cafe. Stayed one night. Right on the beach exposed to the elements but level. 4g reception on o2 and smarty.

  • 4/5

Beautiful spot. Nice and quiet. Quite a few dog walkers passing by and people staying at nearby shepherd huts walking past. As long as you don’t mind this it’s a lovely place to stay.

  • 5/5

beautiful place with lovely views, peaceful at night. coffee shop and toilets were closed midweek.

  • 5/5

Beautiful place, so quiet at night.

  • 4/5

We had a quiet few days here during the mid week so, all was good. Just a few visitors to the cafe and dog walkers.

  • 5/5

absolutely brilliant location, stayed 2 nights, (friday & Saturday) busy with vans but still quiet.

  • 1/5

Avoid at the weekend unless you like it being noisy until late. Felt like a camping site with awnings and stuff strewn around outside vans. Go to a bleddy campsite

  • 4/5

Great views over to Arran, able to stay overnight. plenty room along the track for vans large and small. Lots of dog walkers all very friendly.

Great wee spot we’re here mid April beautiful sunny day dont park in front off cafe go to end of track there’s a couple of spaces cafe does reasonable food soup of day £4 etc dont park at farmers gates they need 24 hr access

This is a superb spot for a stopover. We intended one night and stayed for three because we met so many really friendly people. It was a busy weekend with lots of vans but it was still incredibly peaceful. Nice to walk the beach with the dogs and just to sit and chat to passers by.

Great spot! It says no overnight stays on the sign next to the cafe but this only applies to the cafe car park. At least 6 other vans here the night we stayed but still loads of space between us all. Fantastic beach too and lovely for a swim. We used the loos in the cafe and bought some takeaway coffees. Apparently a nasty farmer on the adjacent farm so don’t park near the gates.

Fantastic spot to park up by the cafe. Though there’s a ‘no campervan/no overnight parking’ sign, the cafe told me that it only refers to their cafe car park, and not the road with plenty of spaces beside it. Arrived in the afternoon on a weekday and there was plenty of room. Lots of dog walkers but that only adds to my experience.

Fantastic spot to spend a couple of days and nights on the beautiful Island of Bute. Explored the Island in the day and was able to return to same spot for 2nd night. No facilities (except a café) so make sure you are well topped up before visiting. Quiet. Lots of wading birds to watch at the right tide time just in front of you. Idyllic.

  • 4/5

Fantastic spot along side the beach, you can park at the south and north end of the beach, north is best nearer the cafe. Spoke to a very nice council warden who said that all rubbish must be taken away not put in the bins outside the cafe, he said local campsites will let you use their facilities but at £10 a go, no thanks. load up before you go on the island.

  • 5/5

Great spot right on the beach. Very quiet overnight.

  • 5/5

This is a lovely spot. At the time of writing Park4night shows this as being at the southern end of the bay. However the best location, where there is more space is at the northern end, near the cafe.

Stunning Views across the bay and on to Arran. I parked beyond the cafe along at the end of the sandy road (as there are “no overnight parking” signs in the cafe car park). Went for a run, then a swim and had such a peaceful night. Just on my own, but felt quite safe here.

Lovely spot on Ettrick bay, quiet. no overnight at cafe carpark but this is close by.

  • 4/5

Busy during the day with cars so we waited until the evening to park. Lovely spot and we had some neighbours. Could do with a bin but can’t complain too much!

  • 5/5

Great views, very quiet we had another 2 campers parked up but we could all space out! Not sure where the toilets are though however that doesn’t bother us.
