(GL2 4JE) The Pilot Inn

Stayed last night for our first stopover on our way from Cornwall to Lancashire. Great pub, service, food and setting. Lovely walk along the canal and felt safe at night. A few other campers stayed too. All they asked is that we parked at the far end of the car park. We phoned ahead but there was no problem. Will definitely stay again x

Great place I have stayed there a few times over the last year or two.Reasonably priced food good beer.

Brilliant stop over quite nice pub very welcoming and a nice pint

This is a lovely friendly low key place. We arrived and donated to local charities. Very nice staff, very safe atmosphere, lovely to see it busy mid week as it’s a total gem. Woke to horses saying good morning from the field behind. Quiet night, we think this is a great place. Good beer garden, on the canal. Food served too. LGBTQ plus friendly which is always great to see. We will be back.

A great place for a peaceful stop. Friendly landlady, lovely welcome. No expectation to eat in the pub. Charity donation boxes on the bar. Flat spaces, 2 other vans there when we arrived. Very quiet overnight especially as it was the night of the Euros England semi game.

£10 for charity; no expectation to buy a meal or drink. Very close to motorway but minimal noise; excellent stop

What a wonderful set of people who run this pub! They let you park no hassle and are very welcoming, the pub is busy and full of locals with a great chicken curry! Flat parking bays and a warm welcome - could it get any better?!

A lovely pub with flat carpark for very quiet, overnight stay. We were one of 3 campervan/motorhomes overnight. Welcomed by bar staff, we checked it was OK and it was no problem at all. Had a gorgeous meal (vegan options), and a few drinks, in the garden with a view of the canal and boats. Horses munching in the field next to pub. Beautiful, we will definitely stay over and eat here again!

Sehr schöner und netter Pub. Gutes Essen. Guter Parkplatz. Hatten vorher angerufen und gefragt, ob es ok wäre den Tag über zu stehen und über die Nacht, wenn wir abends im Pub essen. Das war kein Problem.

This is a great stopover, great food, very welcoming. plenty of space and a nice cycle ride along the canal to Gloucester City centre.

Phoned ahead and have been made very welcome. Great food and drink at reasonable prices. Flat car-park with spaces next to a field. Feels like it’s in the country, but just off the motorway. Good garden, canal walk into Gloucester. The perfect pub stop-over. Thank you.

Stayed in the carpark overnight and a lovely meal in the pub. Dogs allowed in pub. Live band on the Saturday night. Landlady and staff were very helpful and cheerful. Canal is right next door so possible to walk or cycle into town but being winter and raining we opted for a taxi. £12. No facilities except pub toilets.

We often stay here, stayed again last night always a warm welcome. Food at good prices (steak was great). A quiet nights sleep. A flat car park next to the canal. This morning all we could hear were the horses munching in the field next to us.

Great spot for an overnight stop, lovely canal walks next to the pub. Spaces are normal car size so probably not suitable for longer vehicles. We parked on a Friday so car park was busy but pub was welcoming and food was great. All they asked is that we parked in the far corner which was fine by us, there are lights in the car park so very safe and it was surprisingly quiet for a Friday night.

Had a great stopover at the pilot inn on Friday night really friendly staff and lovely food Highly Recommended!!!
