White Hill. Beaucoup de promenades dans la nature à partir d'ici.

White Hill. Lots of nature walks from here. Lots of parking although busy in the day. Just about enough length for a long wheel base if you back into stinging nettles and use your side door teehee. No height/width/closure barriers. Entrance is a bit hidden by trees and has a slight slope upwards so approach with caution and all should be okay. Very popular so motorists around you should understand. Lots of signage and info on the area and wildlife such as what birds you can spot. Popular for sunset/sunrise views of the valleys. Good for kite flying, etc.

Pease be considered and don't park sideways or in 45degre angle. leave space for the local dog walkers. Nobody wants no overnight parking sings because of that.

Weißer Hügel. Viele Spaziergänge in der Natur von hier aus.

By far the most beautiful place I've found as of yet. Spectacular star gazing on a clear night, flawless views during a sunny day, quiet, surprisingly few dog walkers, one horse rider on my visit (Friday night - Saturday midday), and a good few vans. There's apparently been a couple of windows smashed by a particular man who's known to police, but otherwise it's pretty much pure tranquility.

  • 4/5

One motorhome there when we arrived but by 9pm it was rather full. Friday bank holiday and was no issues with noise/young folk. Slept well but the noise below is loud from early. Amazing views and some walks to do.

  • 4/5

great view, there quite a few spots for campers, was really busy when we stayed , but it was during meteorite showers , still lovely place to stay, a bit of a bumpy road to get there but if you go slow and easy should be fine

  • 5/5

Off the road up a small track, keep an eye out for the turning as it's a 60mph road so easily missed. Rutted at the beginning but evens out towards as you drive in. It is used by local youth during the evening but quietens down later. If you've got rear doors, reverse park and enjoy the sunset over Watership Down. Be aware that it is used for dog walkers and horse riders, but a top stop.

  • 5/5

Absolutely amazing spot. Road noise stops around 10pm and the views are great. Loads of walks nearby and nice and peaceful. Didn’t have to pick up any litter either which was great to see :)

  • 4/5

Bis 11.00 Uhr stark von örtlichen Pärchen besucht danach aber absolut ruhig

  • 5/5

magnifique vue dégagée, plat, parfait pour passer une nuit.

  • 4/5

Stayed here Saturday night, arriving mid afternoon to find several cars and 3 other campervans parked here. The site is rather pot holed but level to a degree furthest from the entrance. Lovely views and a nice circular walk around the fields. No amenities and some road noise, as their is a main road close by. Popular with local dog walkers.

  • 3/5

2 out of 3 nights were perfect. It's flat, off the road. Great access to walks on Watership Down, Wayfarers Way etc. Large bins out on road in layby. Just avoid the big potholes at top of sloped entrance. Last night (Sunday of Bank Holiday), two lots of antisocial youths came. 6 youths in a car parked next to us 11pm-1am, played very very loud drum & bass, got out and danced / smoked weed.

  • 5/5

Stayed overnight 30.04.24. Lovely location with great views across the Downs. Two or three other vehicles plus a couple of cars. Felt very safe and cosy. Would definitely return.

  • 4/5

Grand spot. Very safe. stayed 2 nights with other vans.

  • 5/5

Great area for the night was quiet, does get busy in day time for walkers. Had 4G signal. Lovely area to walk. Can get windy in bad weather.

  • 4/5

lovely spot, great views, great walks.

  • 4/5

great park up , gets busy , was full of campers by 6pm , nice views , not much noise considering near a road , would visit again

  • 5/5

Beautiful views, quiet spot, can be windy at times with bad weather.

  • 5/5

    Free, quiet, lovely view. Perfect!

  • 5/5

Great place to stop. flat and quiet. no issues.

  • 5/5

MWB Sprinter. Lots of room, quiet and phone signal. Lovely views. Around 5 other medium/big vans here when I come on a Sunday night.

  • 5/5

Great spot provided you don’t drive straight past! Pulled into the turning to see shut gate. Fear not this is onto a farmers field. Car park is up to the left of the gate as you drive up slope although this is not seen from the bottom. Loads of space, very flat. Good access to footpaths, fantastic views. 60mph road to access so slight road noise but not too busy and set safely back. Will return!

  • 5/5

perfect place for one night. great walking area. good signal an theres is a bin on the other side of the road. amazing view.

  • 5/5

Fantastic spot. Arrived around midnight after journey from Kent. Spent the night alongside other van lifers. Good spot to walk to Watership Down. Hours walk there and back. Fair few dog walkers in the morning. Quiet but a bit windy. Although weather wasn’t great that night

  • 5/5

Site is used by a number of full time van lifers whom I spoke to for the lay of the land. 4 vans on my first night; 5 van night two. Locals friendly. Area can be windy depending on weather due to height/no tree’s to shield. Mostly flat; a number of potholes to navigate. Vodafone/EE/3 Network - all excellent signal. Parking in direction that everyone does, 6.5 metres is the longest you could park; car park is long but narrow. Grass at back to overhang back of your van slopes up, limiting how far you can go back. At one end you could just get 1 x 7metre motorhome in. For 7.5 metres, you could park unconventionally but I would not do this at a weekend due to horses being taken through car park & it will upset the locals. >8 metres, turn into car park may be too tight - walk it first! You could park up overnight like this but only if away early in the morning. Car park will be tight to turn van around in at lengths 7.5 metre or longer. Careful with horse trailers - I had 3 arrive on the bank holiday monday, one horse went out of control & hit my van (no damage thankfully), car park is just not wide enough for this. Good walks, nice views. Not as many dog walkers as you would think.

  • 5/5

Nothing to complain about. Flat, good phone signal. Very popular with hikers and dog walkers through the day. Also many vans during the night.

  • 5/5

We stayed here last night, it’s a lovely spot with great views. There’s strong phone signal but it is quite open so was very windy overnight. Perfectly fine for a LWB and level parking. No amenities available.

  • 5/5

Stayed last night. The morning view is definitely worth it!

  • 5/5

Great location. 3 other MHs in the car park overnight, plenty of flat-ish spaces. No problems whatsoever. highly recommended.

  • 5/5

Brilliant place to explore with Watership down forest local. Views are amazing.. Busy during the day. Quiet overnight.

  • 5/5

Waren an einem regnerischen Tag, steile schlammige Auffahrt, für große Womos könnte es schwierig werden. Großer Parkplatz mit schöner Aussicht.

  • 5/5

First night here on a Wednesday night and it’s lovely nice and quiet, gorgeous views

  • 5/5

Lovely stop for the night. Flat and great sunset views. Tight and steep turn into the parking lot and limited depth to parking area, so not for larger MHs. Busy in evening with locals but quiet once dark and little noise (well, once other MH turned off generator, put chairs in, and finished jet washing their MH. (Jeez, people... try to be discreet or you'll get us banned from places like this)

  • 5/5

prachtige locatie - rustig gelegen, onbeschrijfelijk vergezicht, proper en veilig. we hebben er van genoten! (geen services, wel vuilbakken aanwezig ter hoogte van de weg)

  • 5/5

Wow, this is a gem of a find, quiet and just off the road, beautiful and stunning views. Not forgetting Watership down woods just a short walk away

  • 5/5

What a great spot to stay! Arrived around 6pm and parked up, raised verge made it easy to level up (van 7.2m). Took a walk up to Watership’s Down, beautiful views and back to van for sunset. As others mention, there was a few young couples watching the sunset (good for them!), they left shortly after sundown. Was quiet overnight and in the morning the sunrise was glorious. Highly recommend.

  • 5/5

You need to be on the B3051 heading south. Nearly up the summit of that hill (White Hill) you have a layby on the right hand side and the car park is immediately opposite the layby by the green sign as on the second photo. Great views and room for 6 to 8 motorhomes. Spent two very quiet nights there.

  • 3/5

Arrived about 7pm and only one other campervan, couple of cars with small BBQ enjoying the evening sunset. We felt safe with level parking. No concern and would use again. There are no facilities at this car park. Parking is free.

  • 5/5

we stayed here on 13th April 2022 from the road it looks like it's closed, but just turn up the road and the parking area is revealed. quite level and very peaceful. we enjoyed a good night's sleep. would recommend.

  • 5/5

What a wonderful place. Stayed a full 24hrs and to be honest regret not staying a second night. Phone signal great. on arrival the local Scouts group had a meet up which lasted about 2hrs and was extremely noisy but after they left we had one other van all night. No bin here but there is one on the layby opp the car park turning. Loved the views

  • 5/5

Arrived late, plenty of space with a couple of other campers already down for the night! Nice quiet night and great views to wake up to.

  • 5/5

We’ve parked an almost 8 metre van lengthways on a Thursday night. Level car park and beautiful view. Easy flat walks along the hill. Little bit of noise from the road but sure it will be quieter later.

  • 5/5

Lovely quiet night (mon) raining next morning so there were not many walkers turning up either. Great walks on the wayfarers walk.

  • 4/5

Stopped here on Friday evening for dinner and a walk, watched the sun setting over the spectacular view! We decided against staying for the night as it seemed a popular spot for young romance!

  • 5/5

Nice size car park with spectacular views. A few cars early on and late, they walk up to Watership Down. Great overnight stop, local farmer very friendly.

  • 5/5

If only there were more places like this. A busy place but silent once the sun has beautifully set.

  • 5/5

Lots of space, big rigs too. Beautiful view, quiet, good signal!

  • 5/5

This is truly an amazing place for campers. Nice hard flat area with views over rolling hills. Will stay here again.

  • 4/5

Arrived late morning on Sunday was very busy with walkers. Difficult to drive up to car park because of mud on road took me 4 attempts. Very windy day rocking the motorhome a bit. Well worth a stay with beautiful views across the downs. Unfortunately lots of rubbish just thrown on the floor which I just spent my time in the rain picking it up.

  • 5/5

Nice spot. Arrived at 9pm. A few cars there but left soon. Quiet overnight spot.

  • 5/5

Nice parking and great walking routes all around

  • 4/5

Nice stop over stop. Very quiet night no problems at all. Can be rather exposed to wind.

  • 4/5

Lovely views over the hills which was inspiration for the novel Watership Down. Weekends can be busy as it connects along Wayfarers Walk. Take care if leaving a vehicle unattended as it's a well know hotspot for theft. A small bin is on the other side of the road. Can be a little rubbish left behind, i tend to clear up after I stay at a spot anyway as us Wilders can get the blame.

  • 5/5

Great, plenty of parking on road or in car park. Entrance not massively obvious, can easily fly past it. Enough space for long wheel base. Great views. Nice to back doors against the sunset. Busy in the day. Many young people early eve. Peaceful at night.

  • 5/5

Great place to park up over night lovely views, great walks. Hassle free well worth a visit. :)

  • 5/5

Was parked up here on 23/08, great Spot, amazing views, even on a Sunday evening it was a busy Car park, vehicles coming and going until around 10. Good night pull up as transiting.

  • 5/5

Parked up for the night, quiet location, a few other camper vans were there for the night to, a few cars came and went, but over all a great location. I'll definitely be back. Quiet, beautiful views of the farms down the valley, sunset one side, sunrise the other, what more does one need!

  • 4/5

    Nice views

  • 4/5

Darmowy parking dla kilku campervanow.Mozliwosc spacerow z psem.

  • 5/5

100% underrated. Best spot I’ve been to in the south of the UK. Really beautiful

  • 4/5

Lovely place no problems at all. Very busy, everyone very friendly. Please please take your rubbish with you as there are no bins. Just because you tie a black bag to the gate and then leave it behind you are still dumping rubbish..... Don't!!

  • 5/5

Beautiful views, generally very quiet. There is a lay-by on the road and full car park behind, next to some farmland. There was a noisy van there for an hour or so but otherwise lovely.

  • 1/5

Drunk young people arrived in car at 7 pm. Trowing away there beer bottles etc. pissing and shouting, loud music, left very quick to a better place....

  • 3/5

Parkeerplaats boven aan de weg. Op de heuvel vol op in de wind. Vergezichten ondanks het donkere weer

  • 5/5

Great spot , with lovely views of the fields as far as the eye can see.. okay for overnight stay.. with bins and fab walks nearby..

  • 4/5

Lovely place to park up for the night. Great views and a fabulous walk along the Wayfarers Way. We parked in the layby which meant the van rocked with the busy traffic and no privacy however there is a car park which would provide these.

  • 4/5

Bon emplacement. A l'abri des regards, jolie vue. Quelques promeneurs en mâtinée et en soirée.

  • 5/5

This was a great place to stay. great sunset and walks near by. very quiet. watched some homing pigeons be released. it's also the setting of inspiration for watership down. there are bins and it's quiet. i saw cows, rabbits and buzzards

  • 5/5

Great location, very quiet, no services but highly recommended

  • 4/5

Great location and views. A bit breezy at times. No trouble finding a space. Great walks and Kingsclere a short(ish) walk with good pubs.

  • 5/5

Lovely place to camp! Stayed here last night and it was silent. Woke up to a beautiful sun rise.

  • 5/5

Great place to overnight, amazing views. There is a bin just across the road in the lay-by.

  • 3/5

Fantastic views. Spent a few days over Christmas. Busy in the day time. "silent night. " police came into car park and left wonderful walks. Large enough for motor homes with slide-outs. Recommended. No

  • 4/5

Endroit très bien, belle vue, deux défauts : la route s'entends fort et très passante, sol poussiéreux.

  • 5/5

Beautiful hilltop views of surrounding feilds. no roads in sight but can hear the road quite loudly with camper window open. lovely walks. police did make a routine trip in and out the car park but did not disturb us in our very blatent camper. It was still light at 8pm on a Thursday summers night.

  • 5/5

We stayed here on a Monday night, the area is beautiful, lots of walks and amazing views from the carpark. There was a dog walker here in the morning but other than them we have had the carpark to ourselves. Very peaceful and would definitely recommend staying here.
