Etwas weiter die Straße hinunter befindet sich ein angrenzendes Waldstück (Übernachten ist dort nicht gestattet) mit einer schönen Wanderung für den nächsten Morgen.

Great stop, fantastic views, very quiet, car park fairly level and large. Forestry car park £10 per night and the rangers do check to make sure you’ve paid, around 07:00. Traffic dies down about 20:00 and odd car from about 06:30 but well away from the road. No bins but well worth the stop.
Lovely spot paid £10 we got there about 4 and between that time and 6.30 we have 4 bus tours stop everyone piles out of the bus takes photos then goes back so probably about a 15 minute stop but peaceful night

Had a good nights rest here. Forestry Scotland do check to make sure you have paid so don’t be surprised if you wake to find their van parked up checking. No where to walk the dog safely without crossing a busy road.

Best for motorhomes to park on the other side of the road. Flatter and not in the way of the visitors using the viewpoint. The road was quiet at night, and we had a good sleep with no others campers around. Tried to use the pay system, but we have run into the issue it won't take our USA Card because there is no where to enter the state we live in.

Il y a deux parkings payants (10 Livres par nuit) limités à 4 véhicules (8 places au total). Côté lac, un timide aménagement a été réalisé avec des barrières en bois et un petit talus séparant l'espace de la route. En face, c'est un parking minable avec des nids de poule et pour lequel le prix est scandaleusement inapproprié.

Super Platz für eine Nacht, d.h. von 18.00h bis 10.00h, nur für autarke Fahrzeuge bis max. 7m mit Toilette. Bezahlt wird über die RingGo-App. Oben gibt es 4-5 Plätze mit Aussicht, auf der anderen Straßenseite noch einmal ca. 5 ohne. Entgegen dem Bild oben darf nur längs am Zaun entlang mit je 4m Abstand geparkt werden, damit auch Nicht-Übernachtende etwas von der Aussicht haben.
Vu que les camping-car ne sont pas foutu de se garer dans le bon sens et de pas prendre toute la place, de plus qu’ils ne respectent pas la taille limite des grands camping car, l’emplacement est grand mais ils se garent en longueur… sinon bon spot

Super endroit pour passer la nuit. Attention : il faut être autonome et cela est bien rappelé. Nous sommes allés nous garer de l’autre côté de la route afin d’être protégé du vent de la tempête, nous étions bien à plat et pas dérangés par le bruit.

There is also a new lay-by area the other side of the road that can about 5 units, July 2025 the fences have been replaced.
Brilliant park up for a small fee. Extra parking across the road now for more space. Unfortunately lots of people park length ways, which reduces the space available for people!

Très belle vue. En revanche un peu cher pour un parking en bord de route sans aucun service. Attention, seulement 4 places et pour des véhicules équipés de toilettes. Pas grand chose d'autre chose dans le coin qui ne soit pas proche du bord de route.

Plusieurs places de stationnement légèrement en retrait de la route et plusieurs tables de pique-nique pour manger dehors. Quasiment pas de circulation lors de notre passage début janvier donc aucun dérangement pour dormir. Super vue sur le Loch Carron !
Lovely views from this parking , 2 others there when we arrived . Says park4night on sign but have to find location on app. Quiet due to being further enough off the road . Can fit more than 4 campers but would be busy . There’s a camping bench here and walks . People stop off in morning to take photos .

I had to start here a night because the road was blocked by an accident. Great views but there is the charge. Cars are not supposed to park here, but don’t know if that’s enforced.
Nichts für Langschläfer. Abends und nachts sehr ruhig und idyllisch, Adler kreisen über dem Berg. Morgens um 7 beginnt aber kräftiger Verkehrslärm. Zahlung mit einfach zu bedienender Handyapp, 7,20 Pfund inzwischen, man kann auch später zahlen wenn das Netz schlecht ist.

2 Sterne für den Blick, aber hier hat jemand genaue Vorstellungen wann wo wielange und vor allem wie man sich aufenthalten darf. Lächerlich überreguliert. £7, zahlbar über eine App (RingGo), die man sich erstmal runterladen muss inkl Registrierung etc., viel zu kompliziert. Kein Mülleimer, keine Spazierwege für Hundebesitzer, Hinterlassenschaften in den Büschen. Fazit: Schnell wieder weg hier.
Arrived mid afternoon, nobody else here. Fantastic views down onto the salmon farms in the lock. Apart from the odd car, totally peaceful night. No signs anywhere saying about making any payment.
No signage stating charge or no overnight parking. A Grey Mitsubishi with reg WN18 UNB did pull up a few times as an intimidation attempt.
Would’ve been great but we had a bad experience here, there was some dodgy behaviour going on all night, cars pulling up and moving around from 9pm-2am, plus a truck with a flashing light all night! (Plus you have to pay £7 which is a bit much in my opinion with no toilets)
Lovely views over Loch Carron. Parking area off the road and the road was very quiet at night, only issue was other campers arriving later who didn’t adhere to the only 4 motorhome spaces available and tried to squeeze themselves in between those who were already parked up.
Prima voor 1 nachtje. Veel fijne Midgets in augustus. Stromeferry (stil dorpje met treinstationnetje) kun je lopend bereiken.
Gebührenpflichtiger Parkplatz am Straßenrand mit schöner Aussicht. Mülleimer sind vorhanden. Zweckmäßig für eine Nacht. Fußläufig ist der Ort Stromeferry über die Straße zu erreichen, keine Geschäfte in der Nähe.

Great little stop over, road noise quiet after dark, great views to wake up to. 4 other vans there same night as us and plenty of space.
The stopover is fantastic BUT only 4 Campervan/Motorhomes are allowed to stay and last night 8 stayed overnight. This is far too many for the parking area and we ended up being squashed in next to each. Very disappointing that people can’t accept what the Forestry people say in allowing stopovers. Abuse it and lose it!

Übernachtung am 23.10.: Ordentlicher Parkplatz, allerdings direkt an der Straße. Diese Nacht war ok vom Lärm. Sehr schöner Blick auf Loch Carron. Kein WC, keine Entsorgung.
Stayed here for 1 night and except for 1 car driving past beeping its horn at about 11pm, it was very peaceful with a beautiful view of the Loch. No facilities other than a bin so for self contained vans only.

Einerseits gut, dass die Forstverwaltung diesen schönen Parkplatz zum Übernachten freigibt (Danke) , andererseits würden wir hier nicht mehr stehen wollen. Die angrenzende Straße ist relativ stark befahren. Die vielen Wohnmobile, bei uns waren es 7, statt der erlaubten 4, verstellen den Auto- und Bustouristen den Blick. Es kommt zu Drängeleien. Eine unschöne Situation, die uns peinlich war.
Stayed there and parked around 6pm. Not sure what difference it makes what direction your car faces. But rules :-). Anyway had some busses until 7 but then it was quite and we did also not notice traffic at night. Thanks to the council to privy this opportunity.

OMG what a shocking experience with a little holler from the Commission. Everyone had followed the signs and reversed along the fence however everyone was instructed to change to park rose to fence to allow 4 meters & to not block the view for coaches. Campers were fine doing this but motorhomes would block the entry and exit. Drive 3 miles to Strathcarron Hotel, m/homes £5 pppn and 24 hr toilet
I stayed here a couple of years back and at the time it was unrestricted lay-by. Now forestry have. put regulations in place that no one seems to follow. I was third person to arrive so parked no problems. others coming after weren't so lucky because there was a 5ton 4x4 that took up 2 spaces and wasn't parked very considerately.
Mooie plaats voor 1 overnachting, alleen jammer dat er maar 4 campers mogen staan . Wij waren nummer 3 en later kwamen er nog 3 bij , waarvan er 1 uitgebreid ging bbq. Terwijl dit niet is toegestaan. Er wordt gecontroleerd dus ik ben benieuwd. Wel veel last van midges die door de kleinste kieren komen
We kwamen hier terecht doordat er niet veel anders in de buurt was. Het is oké voor een nachtje, niet ideaal omdat het langs een drukke weg ligt. Pluspunt, we waren er niet alleen waardoor we een beter gevoel hadden. Mooi uitzicht over het meer tussen de bomen door.
Main parking is overlooking Loch Carron but there are spaces for 3 more campervans directly on opposite side of road. We're here tonight v quiet, no facilities but good for one night as not a lot else around.
As stated, free Forestry Commission motorhome scheme. 1 night permitted, must have own facilities. Police did a check late evening, which was good to see as so many spots are being abused. Close to the road so a little noisy, but traffic is light. Grateful for this spot as there's not much else around here!
Layby off the road. Allows 4 Self contained MH/Campervans free overnight till Oct as a trail for forestry. Good 4G signal and stunning view. Just arrived so can't comment on any overnight noise but roads not to busy.
Very quiet spot for the evening, beautiful place to watch the sun setting. Good, solid, flat parking place with some picnic benches. Not much road noise either.
Nice view through the trees. No toilet facilities. Midgies weren’t bad. However there is definitely a number of locals coming past and deliberately tooting their horns early AM.
Wide lay-by on quite a busy road (daytime), bit dusty and the inevitable rubbish. Good news though, the views are remarkable and it’s pretty flat.
Lovely little spot. Can fit about 5 campers in comfortably. Picnic tables available. Highly recommend the little walk down to Stromeferry, it's a tiny little village - but its beautiful! Some road noise, but got a decent nights sleep.

Parking area off the side of a main road. We were there with 2 other campervans, felt safe. No facilities. Yes there is traffic passing and the noises of vehicles can be heard, but this did not bother us. No midges in October.
Quiet night with several other motorhome on 20th Sept 2020. Only bad point was of a courier driver from Sky Express who came into parking area at 7:15 and deliberately had radio on loud for 20 mins then drove off sounding his horn. I contacted Sky Express and a guy there said this driver had been driven off the road recently by a motorhome and incurred over £600 in repairs, and this was the reason why he did this!! He also said he wished all motorhome drivers would go back home, no doubt this driver doing this in other areas, that said it is a great place to stop over and the actions of 1 courier driver does not spoil it, Great spot.
